  1. A 1/24 monogram GTO. 1985 kit. Modified the suspension for the tires and wheels. Prepped the body and primed it. It’s an old kit but overall it’s not bad. Using some parts from the foose impala kit. Door handles and windshield wipers so far. I have a model car garage photo etch set I’m going to use. Also going to use revell chrome paint for the bumpers. It’s an old kit but seems to cleanup nice . There are things that are old like the exhaust is molded in the rearend. The door panels are not separate, stuff like that. Well here goes. This is going to be a slow , fun build.

  14. Rex, here is the bbr kit. Compared to the monogram. Nice detail on top, but no comparison to the monogram on the bottom side
  15. Thank you Stuart. Yes the parts are so small that I did have a hard time during assembly.
  16. Thank you Rex. Monogram did a very good job on these kits. I have a bbr kit and it has half the detail at triple the price. I also am surprised these did not catch on especially in the European and Japanese market place. I do know the European market is upset that model factory hiro stopped producing 1/43 kits. And they are expensive but not at $1000, WOW
  17. A 1/43 cobra from monogram. Out of box. Pretty cool kit. I built a 1/43 corvette and the cobra is a tougher build for some reason. Every one should try a 1/43 at least once. I built 2 and that’s it. Too small for my old eyes. Back to the big stuff.
  18. FINISHED! This cobra was a handful for me for some reason. The corvette just went so smoothly but this cobra was a handful. The cobra looks much more simple but it is a lot harder build than the corvette. If you bought the cobra first and built it you probably would not buy the corvette. It’s completed as a very early 289 cobra. I did forget the dash mounted rear view mirror. I saw it after the windshield was installed so it stayed off. It has a fender mounted rear view mirror but not brave enough to install it. The base of the mirror is so small, I do not know how it would stay on anyway. So it’s finished. Thanks for following and everyone should try a 1/43 once in their life. I told Mr Alverez that I would build one someday , here it is . I built 2 and I believe that is it. Back to the big stuff. A 1/12 mfh cobra Daytona coupe.
  19. Front bumper and rear bumper installed. License plate painted and installed. Pic of the dash. Next is the windshield and other little emblems, wipers and gas filler. Then it’s finished. You really have to be calm putting parts on this little car. Bumpers were a nervous task , they just wanted to flip around. Not good when you have glue on them.
  20. Thank you Robert. It’s tiny and hard to assemble. I had a friend ( who since passed away) that was into 1/43. I learned a few tricks from him. Especially for assembly. Parts are soooo small. Once I had that figured out, I had a chance to build it. This is only my second 1/43. My next build is 1/12 so it will probably seem huge.😆
  21. Engine installed. Exhaust installed. Pretty detailed for a 1/43. A little more difficult to build than the 1/43 corvette. Radiator next. Building , out of box. Although I put a fan belt on. Made out of striping tape. So it still follows the IPMS rules for out of box. Now it’s not totally accurate for some of the parts, like the chrome oil pan and chrome valve covers. They are polished aluminum on the real car. Painted the distributor cap red like a Mallory not black like stock. Painted the oil filter orange like a fram. Just to have the model stand out a little. A very fun little kit.
  22. Thank you beeRS
  23. Keep up the good work! Nice !
