I was never into big personal luxury cars. Ever. But I remember in my younger days looking at this Lincoln Mark 1 and thinking it was too big but I liked the style of it. I now am much older and understand ride and comfort. It’s weird , but I called someone in Florida on a 1995 eldorado. I worked on those things and did like the styling. So I called , 16,000 mile car, blue, and for around $18,000. Missed it by a day but would have never called on that car 30 years ago. Yes, I guess our tastes change over time.

Hello Paul. Are you having clearance problems with the front hood clearing the engine? I had a chat with Chris Smith and he told me there was an interference issue with the front end with the engine. I’m also starting one and had this warning. I’m lucky because the problem starts with the very first assembly of the engine. Motor mounts with the frame etc. if there is interference, by how much? And how are you going to fix the issue. MFH kits are a pain with fit problems.

This is cool! My uncle worked as the service manager at Beverly Hills Lincoln Mercury. He ordered a that looked just like this. 428 cobra jet engine. Not a lot built. White with the wood grail with red interior. He also ordered a 427 cobra but that’s another story. She was going to trade it in on an economical car. A BMW. She thought the bmw was an economic car because it did over 10 mpg. The dealer was giving her $2500 as a trade in. Good thing she asked if me if thus was a good deal. I stopped the deal. Contacted Craig Jackson about the car. He flew out to LA and offered $30,000 for the car. We took it. My aunt was happy. Bought the BMW and she was happy. This was around 20 years ago. Now the rest of the story. My uncle tried to buy every old motel that was on the coast of California. My aunt and uncle ate beans for a long time. He must of had 30 of them. He passed away and did not get to enjoy the rewards. My aunt was the beneficiary of all that. 25 years ago holiday inn bought one property for $15,000,000. The rest is history. My aunt was so protected by my uncle that she did not even know how to pay the bills. So anyway she had no problem with money. I have helped with her so much that she wants to put me in the will. I said all I want is that little British/ American sports car in the wherehouse.

Only built 3 . But they were fun.

Fantastic Bill! I just bought these at the NNL West and they are great. The tread and sidewalk detail is really really good. This is the future. Or I should say the future is now. I am impressed.

I have friends that are collectors. They have every old kit and kits I have never seen. And these guys will always be around. But I was introduced to something like magic , at least for me. One of my super smart Bay Area computer friend had just 3D printed me a very old Jo- Han kit. From a very old Jo-Han kit. He said he scanned it and made a file and printed it, sprues and all. He is very rich and has no plans on selling these things. He just did it for me to prove a point. He said I can print just about anything. Scary. So if your a builder I see this comming our way.

Received this for Christmas from my grandkids. Bought some 3d printed wheels and tires from the NNL West. First Jeep build. It’s curbside. I believe it’s going to be a fun build.

The wheels and tires were $15. Some came with disc brakes and rotors

I was contacted by Andy Kellog about putting my car on the NNL west poster in 2021. I believe he might have been the guy in charge for the NNL west. Not really sure. But he passed away this last year . I cannot even imagine how much organization it took as well as how much it must have cost to put it on. The cost to display a car was $20 And I heard there were over 1300 cars entered. Plus the vendor tables cost $75 each. And there was a lot there. I hope it was profitable for someone to take it over someday. It’s a great show. Here was my car for the 2021 NNL west poster.

The c7 is a front engine and c8 is rear, mid, I like the front engine cars. C1-C7 the c8 is a pretty good car. A little too much computer stuff for me. I’m just old and like the old cars I guess.

Well not really on the road yet. A front end hit on a c8. Putting her back together. I’m not a great c8 fan but it is a cool car. I’m still stuck on the front engine cars. One day I’ll pull my head out and accept these cars. Nothing wrong with them at all, but just stuck in old times I guess.

By the way , the guys I go with are aircraft guys and you can ask them, about silver/ aluminum finishes, we will be wearing our IPMS name tags from Reno. These guys are IPMS nationals champs so their aircraft finishes are great. I asked questions on aircraft models all the time. I have only built one and with their info, the darn plane took 3rd at the Vegas Nationals. Hope to see you at the contest!
