  1. Since it’s a “ what if build”, I was looking at the rear of the car and the wing and long tail just looks odd to me. So I asked Claude for some tips to make it look better as a model. So I will be experimenting with cardboard paper to see how it looks. Maybe that’s why they called her Moby dick.
  2. I saw this and bought it today. it looked cool. Totally resin and curbside. Has photoetch and aluminum parts. Tires are rubber. Strange only one door opens. I have never seen this kit or the company before. The resin has a few pin holes but things seem to fit good. 1/24
  3. Looks fantastic. !
  4. Agora is a good company. I built the cobra, supersnake, Mercedes Gullwing and the Miura. Loved them all. You have to model the Miura. Here are pics of some . Mercedes is a work in progress. I repaint them. I left the Miura paint alone because I was told to. I build for the west coast USA agora rep. Agora has very excellent models.
  5. Thank you Dave.
  6. Ok starting this one again. Layed her out and looks as if I’m going to have to paint the chassis, mask all the tubes for the frame. Since this is a what if, I’m going to paint her a light pearl blue with orange to look like the gulf colors. The framing will be painted orange. It will take some time and a lot of tamiya tape. Here we go again
  7. Maybe we should have a 2.5 liter and under category. That would be fun.
  8. Nothing to be ashamed about that. Beautiful build. We sometimes look at the Ferraris, cobras , etc but these so called lesser cars are pretty cool. When I was a kid I was fortunate to watch the trans am series in the late sixties and early seventies. I liked the mustangs , Camaros, cuda etc but the 2.5 cars were super fun to watch. And to drive these cars in real life are a fun time. Back then I was a lucky kid. I worked in a body shop and could afford a boss 302. $2300. But I saved up for a Datsun 510. Made it like a bre car and actually had more fun with that. Fast forward to today, I have a C6 corvette but I have a 1.5 liter 1985 crx si. I love to drive that si. It’s more fun to drive on the streets. Meaning the smaller and less expensive cars are great also. This is a great build so nothing to be ashamed about.
  9. Great build. Ferraris are very beautiful and so is this build

  20. Hello this is a tamiya ra273. 1/12 scale. 1966 f1 car. The build is not accurate. I jazzed it up a bit. The original is ivory white, I painted it pearl white. The seat is supposed to be black. I painted it flat red. The mirrors are supposed to be white. I painted them metallic red. Kit bashed with model factory hiro parts. The brakes and tires wheel rim outer are MFH parts. Used some scale auto photoetch. I recieved a bunch of incomplete MFH models. My buddy Mark had several incomplete mfh kits and was going to throw them out. He asked if I wanted the parts and I took them. I was hoping that I could make a complete kit , but no. So I have a bunch of extra mfh parts. The mfh parts really helped this tamiya kit. The kit is actually pretty generic. It’s a 1967 tamiya kit. I think Bandai had this kit also . If you decide to find one of these kits , stay away from the 1967 issue. Get the 1982 or the 2006 reissue. The plastic in the 1967 issue that I have is very, very brittle. I bought one kit for $10 and the 1982 kit for $15. Both were incomplete kits but with both I could make one. Even though the build is not accurate I had experimented on a few things and again learned alot. Hope you like.
  21. Finished! it’s a different kind of build. Do not buy the 1967 tamiya kit. Buy the 1982 reissue or the 2006 issue. I had very bad issues with the 1967 plastic. It’s very brittle. Falls apart when you work on it. And I kit bashed the kit with mfh parts. Although not accurate it is a convincing build. Mfh parts helped a lot. Made it more interesting. Glamour shots soon in under glass. Thanks guys hope this helps anyone interested in building one of these. If you need a part for this kit, I might have it,as there are a lot of parts still in the boxes.
  22. This has to be the best model in the world. It is fantastic. The model is like Rolex. Just perfect. Super skills , great job and a very beautiful subject. I have a lot to learn.
  23. I just finished the fire extinguisher. Installed it and it is really strange. John Surtees must have looked at that and said “ you have to be kidding.” First of all it’s by your head. And you’re sitting in a bomb, is this going to help? No seat belts and a fire extinguisher that will do nothing. Not a lot of confidence in safety.
  24. Thank you Rich. My modeling friend Bob said a long time ago, if someone wants to give you extra parts , take them. You will use them . This build is really on the cheap. $10 for one Honda kit. $15 for the other. Both kits were missing parts, but together they made a whole kit. The indycals cost $18 plus shipping. The rest are parts from free hiro kits that people just gave up on. The paint was free. A little glue. Tamiya paints that I had. Car paints that I had. Used some scale Motorsport pe parts I had. Although not very accurate, the model is looking pretty good for what it is, a bunch of parts and kits no one wanted. Here is a few more wip pics. Windshield next. Then it’s finished.
