Well, I did bring this back out for a bit more weathering and a few more items. I've been wanting to add something to the front and I just couldn't think of it until yesterday.
Stay tuned as I add more additional details and grime.
OK, so we know that I can link to your photos, now we need to get your efforts to work. I just copied the PhotoBucket link and put left bracket and typed 'img' then left bracket in front and then left bracket followed by '/img' followed by right bracket behind the copied link. Give it a go.
That is some really nice work Mark. I have a 1/16 scale build or two coming up and I'll want to get a couple of engines from you. They are exquisite!!
Let's try this:
This is gonna be so good. I've collected a few 1/16th scale FED kits myself and am really liking where you're going with this John. I'm in the front row with my popcorn. With the speed you build, I only hope that I don't miss something if I have to run to the bathroom. :-)
This is simply too much John. Your skills are immeasurable. Yep, a rolling chick magnet and a state-of-the-art bling thing. Hope to see this next month at DSC9.
With a few good weather days, I was able to lay down a few coats of paint on this bad boy. I redid the decal colors so they would match the Hugger Orange of the body and printed them out on Testor's clear water slide decal paper. I'm in the process of raiding my decal stash for black pinstriping to lay down where the two colors meet. The nose piece will be a challenge with all of the curves and I'm hoping I won't have to go in with a fine black marker and do it by hand.
Here's where I'm at for the moment. DSC9 is next month so I gotta keep at it.
Thanks for looking in and for your patience. This is taking entirely too long.
That rack and pinion actually works? You totally amaze me with your innovation and skill.
There aren't adequate words in the English language to describe this Bill. I could make some up but they still wouldn't do it justice. You have raised the bar to the upper reaches of the statosphere.
What an epic build Chris. You're doing the right thing by taking your time, exercising patience and being as precise and thorough as you have been on everything on this build up to this point. We can all wait for paint.
Dumbfounded. Just caught up with this thread and although the syle of vehicle doesn't appeal to me, the creative and skillfull craftsmanship does. Completely over the top John.
Will we be seeing this next month John?
I can't say what I really want to say, so I'll just say this...OMFG.
Does the weight of the engine hold some of the suspension down? I imagine that thing has got to be heavy. Have you weighed it yet Bill?
Well, this one has stalled long enough. Its been stripped of the original paint and shot with Tamiya Fine White Primer, which has been sanded and hopefully this weekend it'll get the first layer of paint. I noticed its supposed to rain on Saturday so I may get delayed once again.
