  1. I, too have pics of this and use them as a screen saver. Now I have a few more to add. This is so cooool that I decided a long time ago that I've just got to do one myself. I've slowly been acquiring stuff. One day. Thanks for posting more photos Darryl. I LOVE THIS!!
  2. That paint and decal job look great Brett. If those decals in this kit are this nice, maybe I wouldn't screw them up. BTW - I just love how your nail polish matches the car's paint. Is this something you do to inspire you during the build?
  3. Both of these look great and its awesome to see someone build these old classics.
  4. Really cool start Roger. Love the stance of these AWB vehicles. I have build one of these one day soon.
  5. That is a water bag for keeping in front of the radiator. Cool stuff HJ, like the one with the flash.
  6. I would seriously like to be able to see one of Donn's builds in person so I could study it for hours. Everything about it ROCKS!!
  7. Auntie Em's 5625 West Glendale Avenue Glendale 623.435.0783 They also have a few model kits and other scale stuff. Cool place. In fact, I need to get over there soon.
  8. What are you thinking Jim? A bunch of AA batteries wired in series? There is a shop on Glendale that specializes in doll house supplies. If anyone would have anything in a small scale, I would think they would. I'll see if I can't find the name.
  9. Three to four hours? Really? That's an all day project for me. Impressive.
  10. You're doing some really nice work on this Niko. You've got to keep ahead of your dad.
  11. Now that is cool. Great stuff so far.
  12. Oh yeah! Liking this one. The decals look great on there.
  13. This AMT kit is a bit of a challenge to get to fit together properly but I can't tell from your finished product. It has stood the test of time and still looks great.
  14. Thanks for the kind words Danno and Randy. All four shocks are on the corners and now I need to concentrate on the engine and the rest of the driveline. Here's a pic of one of the shocks. I made the axle mounts earlier before painting the chassis.
  15. Thanks for checking in Chris and Niko. Been working on making the shocks and have two done. I've taken apart a Bic lighter for the springs and the rest is built from aluminum tubing with the ends flattened, drilled and shaped. I'm also using .030 piano wire for the strut. The spring has tighter and narrower coils on the ends so I get two shocks out of each spring. These will be mounted with Scale Hardware nuts and bolts. Here's a scan of the parts along with a completed one. Stay tuned....
  16. Outstanding work Ty. That chassis fits like a glove.
  17. Oh yeah, this is gonna be good. I know what you mean about feeling like you need to finish a build. Know it really well but still can't seem to finish one.
  18. Just outstanding Hollywood.
  19. Outstanding stuff Chris. Everything on this build is incredible. You are going above and beyond on everything you touch. Nicely done. I can hardly wait to see more.
  20. Finally got some pictures loaded. Here's the larger of the two yolks with the .013 piano wire and insulation in place. Here's the crosspiece after getting it put together. And the final two u-joints for the front axles. Only four more to go. Thankfully, they're not as small as these two. Thanks for comments and following along.
  21. That's a great story Tom. Thanks for sharing. I think after all of that planning and scheming to get it and rescue it from certain demise, you should plan a build with those wheel and tire combos.
  22. Thanks Randy. Finally got the other u-joint done and am waiting on my camera battery to charge so I can post a couple of pictures. Stay tuned....
  23. Looking sharp Tyrone. You da man!!
  24. Thanks both Steve and Glu. Appreciate the comments. I'm planning to get some serious benchtime in this weekend and hoping to get the chassis in paint. You're right Glu, this needs a bit of cleaning up.
  25. Oh yea. Go right ahead and mess it up. Its looking perfectly messy as it should. Awesome stuff Jim.
