I like the giraffe because its not as busy. At least it looks that way since the spot patterns are smaller than the Jersey cows. The cow pattern would detract from the rest of the interior because of its larger scale busyness. But that's just me.
I still like the car that was originally intended for this stage. Whatever you put in there, as long as it has some color to it, looks great but the tarped car is the best, IMHO.
I still say the entry door is round 6'6" based on the height of the doorknob. If the door is 9', the knob would be appr. 4' from the ground.
Still loving this project. It has alot of potential.
The lights look great and add another area of dimension to this already incredible scene. I just now noticed the thing between the fridge and the right side of the desk on the floor but can't quite make it out. To me, it looks like a pedal car on its side.
That is some slick fabricating. Thanks for taking the time to explain with words and pictures. How did you drill the holes in the frame for the brass mounting rod with the frame piece already in the frame? I'm sure you have some trick up your sleeve.
She's a beauty Tyrone. Each latest build of yours is my new favorite and you always seem to somehow top your previous ones. This one is no exception. Love it!!
Thanks Glu.
Starting work on the front steering but first need to finish up the turning yolks and trim the brass 00-90 hex head screws so they don't interfere with the u-joints in the axle. The inner yolk has been tapped for the 00-90 screws and the outer yolk turns freely. I'll need to wait on making the steering arm until my rims and hubs come from Jim at MicroNitro so I know I'll have room to fit it in.
Here's a pic of the passenger side.
I intend to have the u-joints turn freely while the steering works. Stay tuned.
Wow Chris those black transition pieces look great. Are those heat-shrink tubing? Nice work. I have to agree, rainy days are the best for getting in some serious bench time.
About once a week or so, I go into the Dio area and just found this. Randy - this is amazing and inspiring work. It looks like that lathe could actually function. I know who to call when I need some small parts turned. I am constantly impressed with your work.
Had about an hour last night and realized I had to move the front frame crosspiece forward. Just wasn't room for the SBC without hitting either the firewall or the frame. Plenty of room now. I just need to decide whether to put in an electric fan on the radiator or a fan on the front of the engine.
Here's a pic.
Hopefully more time in tonight.
This will be fun to watch this develop. You're off to a great start. The '57 is my favorite Vette body style and a super gas is the perfect use for this. Carry on.
Thanks buddy. Loving the weather right now too.
Got the alternator mounted up and spliced the belt to the proper length. The alternator fins are PE from a Model Car Garage set as well as the aluminum pulleys.
Thanks for your interest and comments welcomed.
A bit more done on the engine. Been working on the alternator mounting bracket and wiring the spark plugs. Alternator has a bit to go and hope to have more done today.
Here's a couple pics.
Thanks Chris. Been concentrating on the engine and mostly the alternator and just how and where I want to mount it given the space restrictions of the engine bay. Updates soon.
