  1. Friggin' cool update Tim. And I suppose both of those amazing pedals will work?!?
  2. Me too and its not even mine. :-D Great to see all of this come together. All of your little sub-assemblies that you have completed are now being put to use and your attention to the minute details is showing.
  3. Thanks guys. The white letters / numbers are decals that I made the art for and sent off to Chief Joseph here on the forums for printing. His stuff is the best and great service too.
  4. Thanks guys. I appreciate you following along and commenting. I had an 'ah-ha' moment this morning while looking at this mock-up and decided to go with the early hemi from the Miss Deal kit. Much better detail and fits better than the Bantam Blast block.
  5. Picture shown above.
  6. Spend a bunch of time at the bench today making the spindles for the functioning steering. Using the kit plastic axle, I made the spindles from brass channel, brass tubing and stainless steel tubing all soldered together. The ss tubing is for the steering arms from RB Motion along with their rod ends. These are so strong so this is how I'll do these for all of my builds in the future. I need to order some 0.5mm threaded hex nuts and bolts to finish this off properly. I've been told a place bought the remaining stock from Scale Hardware so I need to get an order together. Here's a picture of the axle with a black piece of wire holding the stuff together for now. Had to put together a mock up shot too. Hang with me. Comments welcome.
  7. Tim - I'd say your 2 1/2 years of doing brass has paid off and it really shows. This chassis is a thing of real beauty!! Anticipating you getting to the front end.
  8. We have paint!! Still need a coat of Testor's Wet Look but we have color.
  9. To quote a friend..."sweet mother of mercy". That is an outstanding update brother Dave.
  10. That's so nice Paul. Loving all of your hard work and detailed explanations with accompanying photos.
  11. Thanks for following along with this build Tom and Richard. As far as the inspirational coupe above goes, it is a fair weather ride. He's a big guy and said he need the top open because the top of his head sticks out. He had on an aviator's leather helmet and goggles. LOL Quite a site. No glass except for windshield. I thought the open vent was kind of funny too but if you're riding around in our summer time, you'd want all the airflow you can get. He also said he just got this 3 weeks ago and the only things he had done to it were the temporary vinyl top and the pin striping. I had a bit of bench time yesterday and was able to get to work on the engine by painted the blower, the four port injector and the resin pulleys which took a bit of clean up and 'turning' with my Dremel to get them in shape. Also spent a bunch of time on the 12 spoke front rims. They needed alot of clean-up before getting them painted. Also cut the roof open. I plan on making aluminum aviator seats and non-covered door panels where you can see the inside. You can also see how I made the bars to the rear axle through the open roof. Here's a few progress shots. Stay tuned. Comments always welcomed.
  12. One of the pics didn't post earlier. Here's the other one. The exhaust pipes are for marine use. I haven't seen that on a hot rod or rat rod. Kinds cool.
  13. While cruising the interweb, I ran across this sign. It is just too cool to not put in the dio. Heck there's some wall space left. I shrunk it down to the proper size, printed it out and covered it with clear packing tape. Once that was done, I roughed it up just a pit, punched holes in the corners to simulate the way to hang an old metal sign. It was cut out with an XActo and used a fine black marker to blacken the paper at the edges. Up it went. Have been finding a few more items for the shop while going through my stash that I've been setting aside. Those will be next sometime in the near future. Here's your sign. More to follow when I get enough items prepped to add.
  14. Here's the cool looking chopped rat rod type that really spurred me to build this. I'm not making a replica but something similar with a bit more attitude. Plus a shot of a build from last year's DSC built by my friend Marty Kirk from Colorado. I really like this one too but I'm going without the track nose and a bit lower and with even more attitude. Work continues today so stay tuned.
  15. Thanks alot for your comments fellas. I'm diggin' this build too. Thinking maybe a converted to street old drag vehicle. I saw a cool ride at a car show last weekend and it inspired me to build something similar. I'll post a pic or two tomorrow since its on my other computer. I hope you can make DSC Misha. Be good to see you again.
  16. Having been greatly inspired by Dennis Lacy's '25 Tall T thread, I started a similar build with the chopped T body from the AMT 3 in 1 kit. I had a second frame so I stacked the Z'd frame and added the second spring perch in the front to make the whole car lower. The quick change center section is from the Tony Nancy double kit. The block is from the Wild Willie Borsch kit and the transmission is from the parts box. The rear rims are from a friend here on MC Forums, you'll know who you are, and the front 12 spoke were also from a local modeling friend and are resin so I'm not sure where they originated. Ok....onto some pictures. I was so inspired by the start of Dennis' build, I jumped right in. He ended up changing his to a coupe and it came out beautifully. Hopefully I won't change directions midstream.
  17. Its not much.
  18. I was experimenting with a small light source from a miniature functioning lantern to see if I could get some nighttime-looking shots. I'll have to set up the tripod and get a few more pics. This is the only one that wasn't blurry.
  19. Yes it is, at least for one more year!!
  20. Looking forward to it!!
  21. That is some friggin' awesomeness right there John. You're killin' it!!
  22. Well, on Sunday I was planning on putting some paint on this body and just as I started, a hair fell on the door. I pulled it off and threw the body in the purple pond. It was a blessing in disguise as the blue paint seemed a bit darker then the box art. So now the paint has been stripped, the body re-prepped and a lighter color of blue is ready for application. Hopefully tonight.
  23. I'm drooling all over my keyboard and this isn't even done. John - that is a real thing of beauty. Just plain gorgeous!!
  24. Sheeeze....Tim, you're killing me with this.
