  1. Thanks Mr. D. I'll check it out.
  2. Good looking so far Kerry. Love where you're heading with this so I'll be following along. I've always wanted to build this.
  3. Any updates on this really cool build Jason? You were making great progress.
  4. Thanks brother. This one was a bit different being the smaller scale and all. I wouldn't hesitate to build the other three in this series. I have an untouched '34 Ford - the Little Screamer. Need the Willys and that will be hard to find. Never have seen one in person whether built or in a box.
  5. Thanks brother. So good to see you at DSC and see your new endeavor. The stuff you had on the table was just amazing. I know I asked you at DSC but my memory is no bueno. Please tell me again, where did you get the small tubing that you solder all together?
  6. Thanks fellas. Much appreciated.
  7. Thank you gentlemen. I'm honored that you found inspiration in my build Alan. That means a great deal to me.
  8. Sourced a really bad glue bomb along with a good first issue box, resin body and engine from Ebay, made a brass chassis, functioning front axle, wired plugs and plumbed main fuel line and injectors. This is a holy grail kit for me so I painted it like the original issue box art. I just had to add the plug wires and do a little plumbing. Entered this in the Small Scale category at Desert Scale Classic this past Saturday and am pleased to say it took top honors. Didn't hurt there weren't any other entries. Thanks.
  9. Here's the plaques. Does DSC know great awards, or what?!
  10. Thanks Kit. Gotta get back to the bench on this one. Waiting on some ordered online parts.
  11. Finally finished this build after taking a few years to get it done. Lost my mojo a few times and had to get re-inspired to finish it. Resin cab from Ed Fluck and AMT chassis and truck bed. Wild Willy engine. Entered in Desert Scale Classic last Saturday and took second place in the Nostalgia Drag class. Also won the first ever Tim Pentecost Memorial Award. Problem loading pictures of trophy plaque in PhotoBucket. Will try later. The plaques are really cool.
  12. Thanks Tim. i hope to get some new pics for the 'Under Glass' section tonight.
  13. Thanks Danno. I will post pics of the awards when I post in the 'Under Glass' section. Just gotta do it.
  14. Let me know how you do with that little goody bag.
  15. Great looking build Charlie. I'm always impressed with your cleanliness. I use PhotoBucket to house my images and create a link for each photo in my posts.
  16. Thanks alot Dave. Man did this build take a long time and went through a number of directions while being built. I like the end result and would never have guessed in the beginning how it was going to turn out. Onto the next one.
  17. Thanks for the kudos fellas and following along on this little build. Its been fun. I just need to re-attach the tranny tunnel, take a few pictures for the 'Under Glass' section and put this in the display case. On to the next one.
  18. Thanks Greg. It was alot of fun yesterday. I like the new venue. We need to get the word out. Queso Good, the food truck, was delicious.
  19. This Hemi Fiat took first place at DSC XIII yesterday. A bit of a mishap as the tranny tunnel came loose during judging but no big deal. Since the 1966 original box art is so cool and its also in such good shape, I decided to display the build on top of the box.
  20. DSC XIII is in the books and I certainly did have alot of fun hanging out with some great builders and gazing at some awesome builds. Here's the Willys as it sat on the table. It took home second place in the Nostalgia Drag category plus the coveted Tim Pentecost Nostalgia Drag Master Class trophy.
  21. As you can see, there were alot of great models on the tables. Congrats to all of the show winners. Well deserved.
  22. Sorry you weren't able to attend Russell, you missed a great show. Here's a few pictures from DSC XIII. http://i437.photobucket.com/albums/qq96/flyfshr/DSC%20-%2013/IMG_3209sm_zpsgqetbwhv.jpg[/iomg] More to follow.
  23. Man you are really getting into this manual stuff on your mill / lathe. Superb update.
