  3. I have a lot of parts to do and i was wondering if this was a good alternative to Alclad. Thanks, Joe.
  4. Yes. Hugely expensive! Bank fees are charged and post costs are very high. Joe.
  5. Thanks, i wii give you methos a try. At least then i can compare the two for myself. Regards, Joe.
  6. Outstanding job! Joe.
  7. That was my concern. where does the color appear? Inside (my current method) or outside (Your method). Do you clear coat over the tamiya? Is so what do you use? thanks, joe.
  8. Currently i Future coat my lenses. I paint Tamiya clear red/ambur on the INSIDE then when dry i paint silver. It looks good to me. Is there a better way of doing this???? thahks, joe.
  9. Very nice build.
  10. Man that is a gorgeous car. I have the Modelhaus '68 conversion pieces which are the dash and the front and rear bumpers and rear lights/lenses. Did you use any other parts???? thanks, joe.
  11. I just went to the Missing Link website and i could not find any products. What did I do wrong? Joe.
  12. Thanks all, I was considering flat black and did not think that it was left raw. It was probably a yellowish tan. I would really be interested in those pix if you have them. joe.
  13. I am sending a '58 Corvette to the paint shop soon. Thanks for any ideas. joe.
  14. this sounds like one for me as well. joe.
  15. i use 0000 on all my white metal parts before priming. sometimes there is a good enough shine after rubbing with 0000 to just coat with clear and go with that. joe.
  16. Guys. thanks so much for the help. I will spray a test strip and then view under natural light. I have upgraded the fluorescent fixtures in my workshop with high temp "natural" bulbs. I guess there is no substitute for outside at noon!!! Thanks again, joe.
  17. I presume real fringe is something like 1/4" leather that would make it about .021" in scale. any suggestions for material? Dental floss? thanks for any help, joe.
  18. I have reference pix that look really white and i have paint from Scalefinishes that looks creamy in the bottle! Can someone familiar with 1:1 Snowcrest let me know, please? Joe.
  19. I have the '68 modelhaus conversion. I wonder if it will work on the rag top version ??? joe.
  20. outstanding. Revell let us down with 1/25-style hinges on this one, if not it would pass as real. joe.
  21. I don't know about that but i do know BMF makes an adhesive. It is generally intended for using household foils and such but you should be able to apply it under BMF. I have not done so, however. so you need to experiment. joe.
  22. Diecasts come in all flavors. The statement by itself could be either good or bad. I think it is bad because i believe most people only know the cheap kind and i think i build better than that. If you knew the statement was made by a person who bought really expensive high quality diecasts then it would be compliment. How are you going to know which it is??? joe.
  23. Not for bodies but for everything else!!!! If i had to use my airbrush for every part i would either quit or i would become a much more efficient builder. As it is now it takes me a year to get 1 or 2 cars and a bike or two built. I use the rattle can to knock out all of the black gray silver etc. stock colors.... joe.
