  1. it seems like Tamiya is mining research they already have. Moving the 1/12 diecasts to plastic and now moving the 1/12 plastic to 1/24 plastic. I hope they move some of their 1/20 F1 and other 1/24 cars up to 1/12. joe.
  2. outstanding look. great build. Which kit? joe.
  3. Great job. Anybody have one of these kits for sale?? joe.
  4. I so love that car. Great build. joe.
  5. Not me for one. Certainly from a purely selfish point of view, those collaborations result in custom cars. I don't build custom cars. For example, I would have much preferred Revell re-release the 68 Firebird instead of the Foose car. I respect that this website has many really good custom car builders and i have learned a lot from you all, but on this point i prefer factory or the 2 in 1 kits. BTW, i have two Ed Roth cars so i am not a total dweeb. joe.
  6. Already ordered. This is great because the Imai kit of the FXST lowrider comes with the "Ham Can" AMF air cleaner which, in my opinion, is ugly as sin. joe.
  7. Lhs ordered the AMT 69 Hurst Olds!,,,, i hope they have the same tires??? Thanks, Joe.
  8. I just bought the AMT 69 Hurst Olds as a donor for my 68 Chevelle 396. I will use all runnng gear and chassis. Will shortly have the remains for sale. joe.
  9. That is a shame. I would like to do a big ferrari. Now, the only other i would consider is the Alfa Romeo Spyder. Joe
  10. If i buy it; I build it, eventually. Joe.
  11. Thanks, i was wondering about the tail light area. The 68 conversion includes only the front and rear bumpers grill, dash and tail light lens. joe. Thanks Craig. Joe.
  12. You did a really great job! The engine looks fantastic. Joe.
  13. chassis and body engine with Replicas and Miniatures upgrade parts Sorry this took so long. joe.
  14. I think your post, while attempting to stir, is based on a faulty premise. It assumes that if your basics, such as assembly, finish and correction of inaccuracies, are deficient, that adding aftermarket details will improve the model. They won't. Joe.
  15. I have ordered the 69 442. Other than the chassis, what other parts do i use from the 442? joe.
  16. Nice start! Which kit and scale???? joe.
  17. It will be 37 years on January 17. Not all perfect but i would do it again in a heart beat. All the best things in the world to you both and the family. Joe
  18. "Words like rain on the fire of my soul"
  19. Outstanding!!! Our town, La Grange, IL has one. I will try to snap a shot. I don't think they bring it out on windy days, though.... joe.
  20. I am nearing completion on this one and i must say it holds the record for having the highest percentage of parts needing substantial clean up efforts, nearly 100%!!! I am happy to have had an opportunity to learn and use the Don Yost lacquer thinned enamel technique. I need more practice. I also used my first Miniatures and Replicas resin set. It certainly will not be the last. Norm, you rock! The molding of the kit is just terrible. Happy to be almost done. Joe.
  21. Pocher would be one of those kits i would only do one of. For that reason alone 1:8 would be ok. If they are looking for suggestions, a Ford Gt 40 would be just fine. Joe.
  22. Wow! Thanks so much guys. I will take this one slow. I guess i have some more parts/kits to get before i am ready to startthis one!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS! joe.
  23. For me it would be a super detailed 1/12 427 AC Cobra or any of the open cockpit Chapparal sports cars. MERRY CHRISTMAS joe.
  24. I am the simple sort. Just a 1/24 68 Mustang convertible, 1/25 70 GTO convertible and any american road racers from the 60/70s. joe.
  25. I recently got this kit off of eBay and i have purchased the Modelhaus 68 conversion. Abrief look at what is in the kit has me cratching my head..... No brake booster/master cylinder? What else is missing or needs correcting? Thanks for any help. Joe.
