Update on the Pacer.... finally got my frame from Mr Alflen. Thank you so much! It was absolutely perfect! Now that I got the frame, I can finally start assembling the suspension.... snapped a few pics with the motor mounted and partial front suspension done. Third pic is the Firewall, with the Master Cylinder in place, along with the steering gearbox. I should have the rear suspension with driveshaft done at some point today, if my kids can leave me alone long enough, lol.

I fotgot to mention. I did not add the chrome bumpers, because I felt they were too bulky on the car, so I filled the peg holes with JB Weld, let it dry for a few days, then my fiance completely sanded the body down, I painted the car, and you cant even tell the holes were even there. I wanted that shaved look, and it turned out great.

I built that same kit. Hell, mine is even similar to yours. Ill post mine so you can see.

One word....... BEAUTIFUL. I love the colors, the line flow. Well played sir, well played. *golf claps*

Fantastic story, great lookin car. I give it 2 thumbs up! My late grandfather is the reason I started building, though he was into aircraft. I built numerous aircraft with him untill he passed away 15 years ago, and since then, I have not touched one plane. Ive contemplated building and giving it to my grandmother, knowing full well she would appreciate it. I just wonder if I have the emotional strength to do it.

Me, I just paint them. I have small enough brushes and a steady hand to paint it. I know what your talkin about though, because I have that exact project going as well.
-
Oi GTMust! Your right! They are virtually identical minus the chrome treatment! Good eye there... and it disappoints me that I did not know of this... being Cadillac is one of my favorite companies. (My first 2 real cars were 1985 Cadillac Eldorados)
-
They are the stock kit tires.... and the grill still tickles me... I cant get over how...odd.... it looks.
-
Pardon me, but what does BMF mean? This eludes me. *puzzled*

Forgot to mention... I did not like the chrome bumpers on this car for some reason... thought they were too bulky, do I did not install them.

Sorry for postin so many new topics lately, now that I figured out how to do pics the right way, I wanna share my builds with you. Here is another from my collection, my 1969 Yenko Camaro. This kit was a absolute blast, from beginning to end. The only thing I wish I could have done was find a RS grill (the one with the lights behind it) and use that instead of the stocker. Presented in a offical GM color I found, True Blue Pearl. I know they did not come in this color, but it was too pretty to resist. 427 motor, the whole kit and kaboodle.

Evilone, this kit wasnt hard, I had virtually everything line up, maybe a quick shave here, sand there... but it went together pretty smoothly. And in reference to the metal foil, where does one purchase this stuff? And in reference again, to the color... I always thought Caddys looked good dressed in red, si I chose a simple ruby red metallic, and went white to make the red stand out. Primered the body in white to make the red that much brighter.

Yea, I dont know why this car never made it... oh well... still pretty. And stance wise, its not going to sit like that. I set hte body over the rear axle after assembling the rear-end and tires, and did that to prevent the whole assembly from rolling off my mantle of my fireplace. If I ever find another kit, I might do a custom job, just to see how it would turn out. This is my inspiration and guidance to the car, on how I want her to turn out.. same color, just a few tiny changes.

I am aware of missing trim, for some reason, it did not come with it. I have built 2 versions of this car, its the Monogram kit, molded in pink, when I built that one years ago, all that trim was in the form of a foil decal. When I searched diligently for the same kit years later, opened it up and there was no foil kit, so I thought maybe this model was a bit different. But thanks for pointing it out!

Exactly. Im prone to more muscle car, but if she has good lines and what, still beautiful to me.
-
Think the factory color was a yellowjacket color, I dont have anything like that.. so that was the closest I could come up with. Body is going to be all black, with white roof and accents... I wanted to color code this car as close as possible...
-
Behold... to me, one of the most beautiful cars to EVER roll off a GM line....my 1959 Cadillac Eldorado... Sorry about the clarity of some pics, my camera likes to go funky when it pleases.

More pictures. (Side note: For some reason, when ever Im working on this car... I have Swing music playing. Maybe it puts me in the right mind frame? lol)
-
My grandmother found this kit at a out of the way store in Bay City Michigan, for around 5 dollars, still sealed... she thought it would catch my interest. Well, it did. This car is proving its challenge though, dealing with a warped frame, and deciding to use mainly factory colors. (I had to google some images of stock body colors) But overall.. I think she is going to turn out great once Im done.

Thanks for the information. Had to make a new photobucket account since I cant for the life of me cant remember the old one. So, Ill be posting alot more pictures from now on.. thanks for the info! -
I like this..simple color, simple design, but functional. I like to go to the extremes at times on my projects, but enjoy taking a step back and just doing the fundementals on my cars... (IE 58 Edsel Pacer Im currently working on) Over all though... I like this.. even though Im not a Ford Fan.

Hi, I was wondering how to upload bigger pictures. It says I have a maximum upload or something of the nature, and I wanted to share more of my completed projects, and started projects, but can not post more pictures. Also.. resin bodies? Are they better than the styrene bodies? How do you go about locating those? I see so many things on this site that put my skills and whatnot to shame.. I wanna be just like yall! I wish I could spend all day on the tips and tricks section, discovering new ideas and whatnot, but sadly kids take that away from me.. lol. But any information would be highly appreciated!

Olds came up with their own 454s and there are 455s as well.
-
Thanks... decided last night to break out the Charger R/T that is supposed to go with this Bee and attempt to finish her.... we shall see how it turns out.
-
I know... sad there is no kit for it. Would love to get one and build it for my parents. Ive driven one of the Tornados, and its a absolute blast to drive.... 454 under the hood.... oh yes.... but the model is still beautiful. Ive built kits for both my friends and made both cars look like the real ones.
