I'm never going to let bmf ruin my life again! Repeat that 50 times, that's the way I feel. I try to choose vehicles that don't have a lot of chrome but, when I do build one I use a metalic silver pen with clear over. People think I masked all that off all the time. No more bmf nightmares! I have about 8 WIPS going right now but, who's counting?

A Big Welcome!!!! Don't forget what Harry said about your full name.
-
It looks Good! I never can get the flame decals to lay down like that on the fenders, nice job! It's going to be another great hot rod!

Man, that looks good! I love the upholstery, the engine, the body color, all the after market parts, the chassis, the wheels, did I leave anything out? Well you get it!

Am I Crazy Or Seriously Addicted
rmvw guy replied to Big Daddy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just ask the RC guys what they spend some time. I think we are all seriously addicted or we wouldn't be on here! -
....Thanks! That's what happens when you live out here in the "burbs" of Indy, actually I'm only about one hour away from the nearest one!
-
Welcome Larry! And thanks for posting, I like your model very much! I just started my Meyers "Manx" yesterday as a matter of fact, I already misplaced the directions! Your photos will help, I couldn't quite figure out the back seat and now I see! I plan to build it much like yours. I was thinking street legal. The green on your's looks great and I love the engine detail. I am kind of a VW nut any way. Nice work on yours!

A Break-thru for Me!
rmvw guy replied to Dave Mikrut's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I thought I had a big problem when my eyes started going bad and was about ready to give it up about 10 years ago, glad I didn't! We have several, so called, handicapped in our club, this is what keeps us going! I'm not handicapped by any means. Figuring out how to do this different is what we do. I love this hobby and as I can tell, so do you! -
.Which ones did you get?...I think the Monogram kits were 1/24 scale. I built the STP car and my son built the Raynord Garage Door car and I think I still have the Valvoline car . It was fun watching him build his, it was red and silver with no sponsors. At the end he said, "Here Dad you can have the decals." I offered to apply them for him but, he said, "That's alright you can have them." I miss those days.

MODEL...I think I have a 50% chance of being right this time!

.....Here is a picture of my son with the AMT Indy car model introduction in 1989, he will be 31 in about one week.
-
Here is the rest of them with the two already built; ( I may have sold one or two I really can't remember.)
-
......Thanks Harry, I really didn't think any one would even look at this one when I posted due to the unpopularity of Indy car right now. The last one I purchased was $1 at a swap meet, the Cummins March 86c. When AMT released these kits at a model car show in Indy I bought them all with plans to build a diorama. This was in 1989. So far I have built two. LOL

It looks good from this angle. I love the wheels. Nice profile!

I think you might get it done at the Derby with that one! It looks pretty heavy duty with the truck wheels and reinforcements all over. Not sure how legal it would be. LOL. I like the way you roughed up the body a little and the wacky numbers on top. It looks like a lot of fun!

I can't wait to see where you go with THIS one! One of my favorite subjects is vintage stock cars or early modifieds what ever you want to call them. Where you go will be very interesting. Please let it still be drivable for the next race!!! That's all I'm asking.(Just kidding really.) It will be good!!!

'25 "T",Do I Really Need Another W.I.P.?!?!?!?
rmvw guy replied to Badluck 13's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I'm with you on that axel thing, I did kind of the same thing on mine. Try not to get too much paint on your hand this time, I loved that! Vinyl gloves seem to work pretty good, lol. I'm going to have to try that with my Grandaughter. I made the mistake of giving her one of my surplus Corvettes, which is a skill level two I think. Needless to say we are going back to snap-kits after this one. -
I love the way you used the pictures to tell the story! I've got to figure out how to do that, nice work again!
-
I have to say, it was worth the wait!!! Nice custom touches, I like it a lot, actually this is a full blown custom. I can't wait to see more. Don't worry, I've had plenty of trouble posting in a timely manner in the past, it gets easier. That's some great paint work!

I'm still waiting for the updates.........have you seen the 4-door on here?....... AWESOME!!!!........Still waiting........I think this is a resin body Sam...........I'll be back, go ahead and start without me.

'32 Ford roadster gluebomb rework. April 26: back on track
rmvw guy replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
The old AMT '32 is still on my all time fav list, you are doing it justice! -
I started building airplanes when I was eight. When I was ten (1960), my friend Randy's Dad bought a new Ford and Randy got a 1/25th promo of it! I wanted one so, Randy and I rushed to the dime store (WT Grants) on our bicycles where I got a 1960 Edsel convertible, they were out of Fords, for one dollar I believe. Of coarse it got the spot light treatment, full decals, lake pipes, the works and glue on the window glass. Later it got baby blue paint applied via paint brush. Ironically it fell victum to a fire about 10 years ago started by me! What was I thinking? ......The next build was much cooler, an AMT '32 Ford coupe. Randy got one too. We hot rodded them and played crash up derby. I still have this one, I think, I've built it so many times I'm not sure.
