Does anyone out there know where I can locate some photo's of A.J.'s 1989 Lola Indy car. I had a photo some time back and cannot locate it. I recently bought a set of decals from Indycals (excellent, by the way), but have stuggled to find pictures of this car. Thanks for your help.
  3. Great build so far. Got me thinking! Good luck with the finished product.
  4. Looking GOOD, can hardly wait to see the finished product!
  5. I've bought two of the Satellite bodies from Greg and they are fantastic. Greg is also a great guy to buy from and very fast about shipping! You won't be disappointed.
  6. These look absolutley fantastic, can't wait to get a set
  7. Thanks for the responses, that is what the local hobby shops are telling us, just checking. I've got many projects lined up just waiting to be painted. I agree too, if Tamiya would offer this paint in bottles it would be a huge seller.
  8. Is anybody else out there having a hard time finding Tamiya spray paints. I've heard the factory was hit the earthquake last year and that stopped production for a while. I wonder if they have started shipping yet?
  9. Just wanted to let you guys know, my order from Comp Resins, for the CRT510 tires arrived, and they are a perfect match for the late 60's to early 70's dragster slicks. The tires look great but as with all resin, they'll need a little clean up. By the way these a rubber like material. I liked mine so much I just placed an order for another six sets. I hope this info helps. Vernon
  10. I think I found an answer to my own question. I went to competiton resins website and saw they offer 60's dragster tires, item# CRT510. They measure 17/16" tall X 9/16" wide, this should be about 35" tall X 14" wide in real size. I think this is about correct for the late 60's to early 70's era dragsters. At any rate I ordered a few sets and will update my post when they arrive. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I also found if you take the kit tires and cut them at the mold line and use the outer portion of 2 tires and glue them together you'll get about the same results. The problem with that is, you use 2 tires to make one and have a joint seam to get rid of. For the money I think competition resins tire will be the best way to go. I'll update this message as soon as I get the tires.
  11. I agree, I checked my tire box last night and had a set from the multi maverick and found them to be just about perfect. I also had some from a 1320 diecast rail that will work. Hopefully somebody will cast these tires as I've got about twelve rear engine dragsters I'm working on. By the way many thanks go out to Chuck Boerner for offering all the decals to do the old dragsters & funny cars, His decals are FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! Thanks for all the suggsestions. Vernon
  12. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into this.
  13. Does anyone have any idea if anyone is offering a more accurate rear slick for the recent reissue of the Tom Mcewen rear engine dragster. The kit tires are ok, but a little too wide for that era. Just curious. Thanks
  14. Just wanted to let everyone know that I contacted Revell about the nerf bar issue, and as usual Revell was very helpful. I returned the defective parts and they will send the replacements as soon as they have them in stock. This was no problem for me as they are one of the last parts to go on the car. At any rate the kits are a little outdated, but still build up to look great with a little work. My thanks go out to Revell for bringing back these great kits and being so helpful when there is an issue.
  15. What would be the best section of this forum to read about sprint car model information? Thanks, Vernon
  16. Tires do not have any lettering, no tire lettering included on decal sheet either.
  17. Thanks for the help guys. I found out about Slixx this past Saturday. It's just like losing a family member, they were great for the hobby and will be missed.
  18. Great idea, I've dealt with them in the past, and have been very happy with thier service. I did'nt even think about them this time. Thanks !!!!
  19. Just picked up a few of the Steve Kinser sprint cars. Nice re-issue of the earlier series of sprint cars with new decals and no name tires. Decals look great but will have to make some updates on the body panels to bring it up to date. Out of the five I bought, four of the kits had badly warped right side nerf bars (item# 167), I'll contact Revell for some replacements. Overall the kit looks great, and if memory serves me right, they go together pretty nice and look great when finished. Thanks go out to Revell for reissuing these cars. Does anyone out there know of any aftermarket suppliers of sprint car decals. I tried Sprint Graphix on the Three Amigo's website, but they don't offer dacals any more. I would appreciate any information. Vernon
  20. Thanks guys, I forgot to mention I was looking for the dragster. The photos are a big help! Vernon
  21. Does anyone have good picture of the yellow Snake car. I'm trying to find out what color the chassis was. It seems to me it was blue, but appears in some photos to be black. Thanks for any help.
  22. Thanks Round 2 models. I wasn't too sure about the big box at first, but when I opened the box I was pleasently suprised by the print of the box art. Nice job on retooling this vintage kit, this really turned out nice. I'll be buying three or four for sure. Vernon Hayden
  23. Thanks Casey Littmann, I talked with Chuck Boerner last evening and placed an order for several decals. I appreciate your help. Also, Thanks to Revell and Round 2 models for releasing these great old kits. Without thier help we would all be in a world of trouble. Thanks to Chuck Boerner, What a great guy to talk to. Vernon
