Revell Customer Service
VERNON replied to Rick Schmidt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hello Josh...It's nice to hear you had a pleasent dealing with Revell. Everytime I've needed a replacement for a defect or missing part they have been OUTSTANDING! It's nice to see this kind of service from Revell. As a matter of fact, I've been building models for about 45 years now and Revell (Monogram) have always been first class in customer service. Thanks to everyone at REVELL! Vernon Hayden -
I took Ed's advise and sent an e-mail to K-Dog. If I hear anything I will post it here. Vernon

He' getting transferred to Raleigh and likes our model club in Va .Beach so much he wants to find one down there. Many thanks Ed, have a great day. Vernon

I.ve bought many items from Mark via ebay and kustom resins, and have been very happy with all his products. He does great casting, interesting subjects, and reasonable prices as well as fast shipping. Check him out, you'll be glad you did. Vernon

Hello again Fred....I started looking mine over last night, just trying to put some ideas together. Once I figure things out and start work I plan to post some photos. Being a Richard Petty fan since about 1969 I have many photos of the the Magnum from races I went to during the 1978 season. You're right about the JNJ body, it's almost to nice to build. I used to buy from JNJ all the time when they were in business. They were super guys to deal with. John Cisco even called me at home one weekend about an order I had placed. I miss them. Good luck with project, hope to see more photos. Vernon

Hello Fred...Thanks for sharing this project. I've still got a JNJ Hobbies issue of the Magnum body from the late 80's. Your post has inspired me to get mine out and start to work on it. Believe it or not I bought my kit new and for what ever reason, never built. Thanks for your post, and keep us updated as you make progress on it. I like what I see so far. Keep up the great work! Just wanted to let everyone know, I recieved my SS a couple weeks ago, and like everything from Mikes, it's excellent. I spent the past weekend cleaning the inside of the body with plans of preping the outside this week. After that I'll start trying to fit a chassis to it. Just glancing at the Monte Carlo chassis I think it will work with of course a lot of changes. This is project I'll be working on in between other projects and will take a little time. The body is well worth the price Mike is asking. Vernon

Sorry, I have three that I picked up at Hobbytown USA, on Saturday. Every once in a while the the model release these kits on time or just a touch early. The Hobbytown in Va Beach & Newport News, Va already had these come in on this past Friday.

Whoops, my bad. It is a 1964. It was early when I made that post.
-
Sorry, no headers

You won't be disappointed...I bought three of these with plans of moving the shaker hood to the Coronet, as well as the wheels.

1967 Coronet, 1967 Firebird & 1963 Impala.

First of all, no pictures yet. I'm an old dog trying to learn how to be hi-tech. With that behind us, The Foose Charger is out and in my opinion is well worth the $25.00 I spent on it. The only down fall is the car sits at stock height. I played around with mine over the weekend and found by sanding the inside of the front inner wheel well of the body (upper portion)(almost paper thin) as well as a little from the inside of the front fender, you can get the tires to fit up inside the body. Of course now you have to modify the front suspension to get the front end down. You may want to drop the rear just a little. In addition to already excellent 1967 Charger kit, you'll get a set of Foose Mopar road wheels, new bucket seats (front & back), steering wheel, and the most impressive 'SHAKER HOOD,scoop, and air cleaner assemby. Revell has also left the stock parts in this kit so you can build it as a stock version. As I said before, not bad for the standard price of $24.95. With a little work here and there, this should be a fun kit to build. Hopefully someone (with more smarts than me) will post some pictures. Get one, and have FUN!!! Vernon

How to fix warped resin body?
VERNON replied to nitro_force_fan's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I recently saved a warped resin body by holding it over a pan of boiling water (BE CAREFULL!!!) for about 30 seconds, while gently twisting the body in the opposite direction of the warp. I then held in the corrected position for a few seconds the placed the body in the freezer for about 5 minutes. I was very happy with the results, but once please be careful around the boiling water, DO NOT place the body in the water, all you need is the steam. I have tried this on a couple other resin bodies, and so far it seems to be working. It appears by heating the resin, then placing it in the freezer helps to hold the new shape. GOOD LUCK AND PLEASE BE CAREFULL. Vernon
