  1. The tractor is an AMT/Ertl International 4300 Eagle from about 1978. The kit comes with a sleeper, but whoever built it decided to make it a daycab. The deckplate was added from an Italleri kit. Here is a link that shows the kit contents & instructions: International 4300 Instructions I think the trailer is actually an AMT Loadcraft Lowboy, from about 1973. Loadcraft Lowboy Instructions Hope this helps.
  2. Run away! Run away! On a more serious note, those are nice looking tractors.
  3. I can see the Freinds of the Earth doing something stupid to blue Peterbilt 377/385s because they're "hauling nukes". You know, something subtile like dousing them in blood, or spraypainting "NUKES" on the trailer. Right before the security detail swarms in on them like the Men in Black! Of course, that blue Pete will probably just be some guy hauling who-know's-what trying to make a living.
  4. So, at 25000lbs could the C900 pull the trailer. Or better yet, stop it? If the reailer was used into the 1960s, would one of the bigger H-Series tractors be better? Since you mentioned Dodge & GM, would the L700 be an alternative, or would the L1000 or CNT900 be better? How about GM? The only GM tractor I know of from that time period id the Crackerbox, but I'm sure there are others.
  5. Maybe it's a glare from the lights. Looks pretty cool whatever it is. When I said a cracked windshield, I ment that it looked like you had added a crack as a detail.
  6. Very nice, indeed! Where have you been hiding? Your builds are great! You seem to have a thing for Fords. Not that that's a bad thing!
  7. I like them, too. The Roadway C900 looks to be very well detailed. Is that a cracked windshield I see? Very realistic. Nice photography, by the way.
  8. Interesting question. Also, would the C900 with the gasoline engine be able to the auto transporter? Does anyone know when truck manufacturers made the "switch" to only offering diesels for Class 8 trucks?
  9. That's beautiful! Where exactly do you put them? Do you have a dock on your train setup?
  10. Only two months? Would have taken me ten years! Very impressive ship with tons of details. Love it! Thanks for posting. Kostas, PM me. I think I know of some places that might sell a Knox-class frigate.
  11. Couldn't see anything, must be because I'm not a member. A 51" guided missle cruiser must be pretty impressive Ticonderoga-class?
  12. You scratch build warships in 1/160 scale? They must be huge! Are they for your N Scale train set?
  13. That sure is a big hook! Looks great. What would soemthing that big be used for? I mean beside huling tanks!
  14. Thanks, Dave. I'm looking forward to seeing it finished, too.
  15. I figured I'd post a quick update on the 1970 American-LaFrance Series 1000 pumper. Not much in the way of total progress, but I have hoses in the hosebed now! I'm planning on one more layer of hose with brass couplers. Wish me luck. I also have some small retails mounted on the tailboard: (2) 2-1/2" smooth bore nozzels, & (1) 2-1/2" fog nozzel. Over by the curbside pump panel I have an adapter on the running board, and a Siamese on the intake. You'll also note that the couplers for the hard suction hoses are now going the correct direction. Hopefully more updates next weekend!
  16. Gold. Sort of a dark gold. Like this: 6-Cylinder Mack 300 Maxydine 8-Cylinder Mack Transmission should be gold, too.
  17. Would this "Apex" patern be correct for a T600, or only the older W900s?
  18. Looks nice. The H-series in on my "to build" list. It's a long list!
  19. Well, it's been almost two months since I posted any progress pics of the pumper, and I'm happy to report that I have made some progress! Over the last two months, I managed to partially scratch build the hard suction hoses, paint & attach the booster line nozzels to the booster line, paint & detail the rear light bar, attach the hard suction hoses & cradles, & paint & attach the marker lights to the tail board & running boards. As you can see, it's actually starting to look like a fire truck. Next step? Axes, pike pole, ladders, hose bed & hose load w/couplers. Enjoy!
  20. Here is a link to a 1991 Car Modeler article about detailing the International V800 engine: International V800 As far as the other stuff, you might want to look here: Sourkraut's Model Trucks - Cab Accessories Personally, I don't know of anyone that makes gauge decals in 1/25 for trucks; however, that being said The Model Car Garage does make gauge detail sets. Maybe you can find something here: The Model Car Garage - Gouge Detail Sets Good luck.
  21. Any time, guys. That Melbourne Model Truck Accessories sure has some nce stuff.
  22. As far as Caterpiller goes, you can get a 3406E, C15 or C16 from Melbourne Model Truck Accessories. Or you can get the Auslowe 3406 (listed as "Yellow 14L 6 Cyl) from Sourkraut's Model Trucks - Engines. Of course, both stores list other engines as well. Good luck.
