  1. As always, I am always experimenting with different types of modeling. Well, these are pre-built models from the X-wing role playing game expansion pack, that I had bought because I wanted to try my hand at some Star Wars stuff. I am not so much interested in the game itself, but the models. I think these models are well made that it makes me just want to buy all their big and small ships just for displaying purposes. But my main interest was the Rebel Transporter, simply for the way it looked. An upside down ship hull design was what attracted me the most. Then I saw a pic of one in a scene where it was really rusted up and that got me hooked ( as I love weathered- beaten models). I immediately decided to give it a go. Here is a pic of the one that inspired me: I did a total re-paint and weathered mine to somewhat give it the look I wanted. A ship that has pushed through many battles and survived close attacks. I also painted more of the containers underneath to add more color and went over everything with a brown wash to blend it all together. One of the hardest part was trying to get the engines to have that glow effect. The Tie fighter is very small. Smaller than the size of a Citadel paint pod. Even with all the great tips I got from members on another forum, I was not able to achieve the perfect look. But I m quite satisfied with, the results, then it being just darken out. Perhaps one day, I will improve in this area. I think the end results look fine in my eyes. Hope, you all agree. Before pic of the model, before the repaint: After:
  2. ... This model and any awesome GT 3 1:18 scale models. If you know of where they can be gotten for a desecent price or not, then please post a link. Thank you.
  3. I think I will just leave this as is and not add a canopy. The area behind the driver is pretty high and would look kinda awkward. Don't want to over-do it. i will just concentrate on placing it on a base mount with a figure and call it quits.
  4. no i have not. Got a link or pics of them?
  5. Thanks guys. I added a little more details: 1. Rear motor resistent protective deflectors 2. Side burners resistent protective deflectors 3. Back burner resistent protective deflector There will be no back-mounted wing. Changed my mind. I think it looks good without one. Still looking for a way to add a canopy to the cockpit. Until them the drive will be using his helmet.
  6. Thanks all. The model is still unfinished. Still need some more details and I was thinking of adding a wing at the rear. I just do not want to over-do it. So I have to test out some designs or just leave the rear as is. I am also figuring out how to make a Canopy. This would definitely need one. Just have to find something I can use. It is going to be modelled opened, so precision is not so important.
  7. Just built something similiar to what is at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOiC2SlNQOQ , only a little longer. Did some test shots and the results were surprisely good. Not perfect as I made the box too wide thus the lights were further away. For smaller models, a small size box, like that in the link I posted, is sufficient. Also, a third light is a must. The third light being at the top of the box. I think the more light, the better the exposure without much editing.
  8. Here is a What-if model I have been working on for a while. Still not completely done but wanted to basically test out a homebullt light box I built. So here are some shots of how it turned out after several editing in Infranview photo editor. Still not perfect but better than anything I have done. Again, the inspiration for this model was put into reality after seeing Igor Sobolevsky wonderful 3D art station work called 'Axiom Racing'. His 3d version is to 'die for'. Still need some touch ups in some areas and needs a stand, on a wooden base, when done. Hope you all like this build. ---------------------------------------------- The Seat before placement in cockpit. I could not take a decent enough photo of the display panel but will try later. Instead of a steering wheel, I made two sets of joysticks.
  9. Thanks Gene. Glad you like the results.
  10. Sorry for the late reply. The figures are from Master Box. The one in the blue pants is a resin figure from Blast Models. Thank you kindly.
  11. 1/35 Scale. I am not sure but here are my reference photos that I used: There are more but the first two are what I used closely.

  13. Thanks guys.Harry, I really just want the engines. Just thought they sold replacement engines or separate plastic ones that U cab use instead of me having to buy the kit just to get at the engines.
  14. Thanks a lot to you sir.
