martinfan5 replied to RDean58's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
MAN buses and coach's have been in the US for a long time now time as well, anytime you see a Neoplan coach, thats built by MAN. -

If you click on the link in my signature line, all my builds are done using the can Here is something you should think about, its not just about using the can or airbrush, its how you prep and how you finish the paint job. If you take the time to wetsand and polish the paint, it does not matter what you use to lay done the paint. This was done using Model Master Lacquer paint out of a can And here it is after clear coating it and the wetsanding and polishing , only did the hood, roof , deck lid

I had one back in the 90's, and I have still one of the 24' tag along's, and dont remember, but its either the 36' or 38' tag along, but I tired to make it a goose neck, now I dont know what to do with it. Hmm Marty, maybe I shouldn't of told you about the listings on ebay , are you going to the swap meet next weekend? -
Thats a good point, the way I paint sometimes, I could paint off an all day one day, and that would be a pain using an A/B. Or I will paint off an on during the week when I have a free moment during the day, say when the baby is napping, but using an A/b would not let me do that, I think it would make it more work then fun , and slow down the building process, and I dont want that, I by kits to build, not to look at the box's

What you said is one of the reason's why I have not gone to using an airbrush, I was talking about this last month at my club meeting, and you cant just go out and shoot some paint. I like being able to do that, and times, that all I have time for. I do wnat to get a airbrush, but I wont be using to replace the cans, my reason is to use vehicle color match paints, I have a few builds that the paint I want to use is only made for A/B. So for now, I will not be replacing cans with an A/B anytime soon.

I want to another one of the 44' gooseneck, I am watching a few on ebay right now, I know they are only marked on the sides of the box, which makes hard to tell from looking at the top whats in the box. Do you know if he has anymore of the galaxie trailers left? -
MAN Trucks in the USA?
martinfan5 replied to RDean58's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I think it will cool to see European trucks being used here, I welcome them. I learned something new today, I have always wondered why EU trucks were all COEs, now I know. Last week , there was a show on the National Geo channel, it was about Volvo trucks , and how they recycle trucks. Once a truck has reached its end of the line, its taken to a shop in Sweden, and taken a part, and either parts of the truck are sold, sent of to be recycled. Volvo is also using recycle metals to make their engines. The only part of the truck that will not use recycled metal is the frame. -
Ooohh a R33 GTR, cant wait to see the pics

Kit price @ hobby lobby
martinfan5 replied to s10chevypu's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes they are open six days a week, the only way I will buy a kit from HL is if I use a coupon. But most the kits I buy HL does not sell, I buy more paint from HL, they are one of the few place's in town that carry the Model Master Lacquer line , all the LHS that are on my side of town dont. -

I dont think so, you only get one version of the trailer in the box, unless they changed things from when I got my two trailers. You do get extra stuff to build like ramps, the awning frame, tire racks, etc, maybe thats the extra stuff you are thinking about -

how much research do you do?
martinfan5 replied to 62rebel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It all depends on what I am building, and how much, or lack of knowledge I may have on the subject, or what it is I need to know -
