  1. Again guys, this was a freak accident, I doubt we will see something like this happen ever again, NASCAR did not stop racing after Dale Sr. died, jet dryers have been a part of the sport and many other forms of auto racing, they are not going to stop using them because of this one incident. Everyday semis pulling tankers full of all different types of fuels are on our highways and streets, so should we ban them from the roads to because someone could slam into the back of them?. Part of Juan's drivetrain failed, just like it did on his team mates car Jamie Mac's car, so that is what caused him to lose control of the car that sent him in to the back of the jet dryer. Art, if you can come up with a better way to clean off race tracks that wont take a long time, and is safer, then please do.
  2. Shouldnt this thread be merged with the sooo daytona 500 thread?, as this is being talked about in that thread too.
  3. Same here, I have been wanting to do that as well, guess its time to start shopping now, thank you dingo Wheels painted, the bottom plates painted as well, they come clear
  4. There is not one correct color for the general lee, they used many different shades off orange and the red, one of things to was they would just paint over the color of the car with out using any primer, so that also is going to affect the out come of the shade too. There is not right way or wrong way to build a GL, ok well yes there are wrong ways to build one, but there is no one single correct way to build a GL, they were different from seasons to seasons . The only things that stayed the same were the wheels, the 01, and flag, even that I think change some, the interior was always a tan, everything else from the cb antenna to the front push bar to the engines all varied
  5. Getting the interior done, I have the dash done as well, but its not in yet, I need to repaint the fire wall and put it in before the dash
  6. Wow I was not even close to thinking of the car hauler you were asking about, sorry for the info that was useless to you

  8. Do I wonder about Virgil, not really, I try not to think about other guys , I really admire him for how he keeps his inspiration for this hobby going, and his love for eye candy. I think if you ever start losing your mojo, talk to Virgil. I do respect his work, I may not really care for the rust look, but he does a darn good job, and his shiny work is just as good, I think you can learn a lot from him, and I agree he is a big part of this forum.
  9. I agree, love the color, looking good so far Here is what I have got done on the R34, I have started to wet sand and polish it, I have only done the bonnet, roof, and deck lid so far, the wheels are going to be painted black.
  10. Yes I am pretty sure there is a difference
  11. Dave, yep its one of the few detail tamiya kits, it is a really nice kit, the one I did back in the 90's with a clear hood
  12. Are you asking about the race car semi trailers?, if so I think you could use anything from the 80's thru early 90's
  13. Yes you can join, I was watching your build of the Z, I remember doing that kit shortly after came out in the 90's
  14. To bad its a 40 min drive for me
  15. No way, I have to have more then one build going on at one time, I know it sounds weird, but it helps me get better results and better builds when I work on more then one at a time
