Been working on the interior, scratch built the cage, added the radio and computer, well the key broad, I still need to finish the rest of it. Also scratch built the push bar, finished the chassis, I used a set of wheels from the lindberg charger kit. I used a set of the stock wheels that came with the charger police kit, painted them black, since the wheels are smaller then the ones from the lindberg kit, it gives a better look for a police vehicle.

I think it looks greyish white for a few reason's, one I am using my phone to take the pic's , its easier getting them uploaded to photobucket from my phone, and the desk light is a UV light. I used dupicolor white primer Ok so a small update, filled in the sunroof, engine is built, and some of the interior is painted. I removed the top part of the center console, and put a plat piece of plastic or it, this will be the base for the police center console, like it is in real Dodge police vehicles. As soon as it gets under 100 degrees here, which should be around 1am , i am going to get the body and chassis painted

Hey guys, here is Revells Dodge Magnum, this is the second one of these that I have turned in to a police version, so this one I think will be a DPS what if cruiser. So far primed red the body and the chassis.

Here is one of my latest projects, Monograms 70 gtx kit, its the one that was released in the 80's, picked it up on ebay for $ 4.00. I remember building this kit( the on released in the 90's), when I was kid. I remembered how much I liked the kit then. So I have not decided on colors yet, but that's one of the reasons I am here, what where the interior colors for the GTX? Any tips you guys might have please feel free to pass the on, my knowledge of cars from the 70's is limited, So far, I have got primer put down on the body and the parts.

Very nice, How did you do the antenna's?, I read on another forum that using evergreen rod to make them, I think it was you that said that's what you used?
-
I havent either, but all the build ups I have seen on another build is that it really isn't that nice of a kit, but it would be easy to redo the nose on it to make a dodge. The rear quarter panel windows shouldn't be that hard to redo either. On the nose of the COT cars, only the top part of it is different for each manufacture, the bottom is same for four makes.

Here is another one of my poor mans COT conversion, I used Revell's dodge intrepid body, the decals are from Patto's place. These decals where made using his new ink, I must say that they are so much better then the old ink he was using. I used Tamyia paint, with rustoloem primer filler , then made the mistake to put a coat of krylon clear over the decals, it crack the numbers .

Here is one of my latest build's, its Revell's ZR1 vette, for the most part I did OOB, this is another one of my cars from GT5 builds, the only thing different is I painted it green the blue like I have it in the game. I scratch built the rear wing, I modified the wheels that came with the kit, I am still searching from aftermarket wheels for it. I found the wheels I want, but the vette has 19 in fronts, and 20 in the rear, and so far I have only found the set I want in 19's . I used Duplicolor white primer, and MM sublime green lacquer with MM wet look clear

What do you drive?
martinfan5 replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is mine, 01 maxima with 278, and change on the odometer, got it free last year doing a vehicle trade , the bug in the back ground is the miss's car, I do not like it, or like driving it, I feel like my man card should be taken away when I drive it Here is a video of the car http://youtu.be/mi5N59imjoA -
Highway, I wasnt trying to come off like I was being impatient ( most time I don't have patients ), heck I still have to get the kit and everything else for the trailer to start it

Yes danno, I know another general thread

The idea came to me while sitting out in the back yard, and I was looking at one of the many ###### gopher holes I have, and I thought to myself, hmmm that mound would make a great jumping mound for the general. So I decided to do a then and now, since I already had a new charger painted up in orange, I put some general peel and stick decals on it , and made It a new general. I have some more lindberg charger police cars waiting for me to put markings on them, so I printed out rosco's police car decals on paper and just tape then on.

Need help with painting and clearing
martinfan5 replied to martinfan5's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for the help guys, I was able to get the black smooth enough, there is still some slight orange peel, but its not bad, so I am going to skip wetsanding. For the gun metal color, I think I will just get it in a spray . I found out myself that trying to smooth out the brush strokes wasn't going to work. -
I am redoing the A-team van kit, and I am kind of at a stall, the body is painted, I sprayed the black , but brushed the gun metal color on ( I know brushed), well my questions are these. what is the best way to smooth out the brush strokes? Now my other question is, the weather here has made it hard to get a smooth paint job, I need to wet sand, but the with the van, it has a lot of body lines, and raised areas, so would it be better to clear and then wet sand down? Thanks

I am going to join this as soon as get the kit, I am going to do a Race car Transpoter, The rig will be the new lonestar kit, and I will build up another trailer.
-
I agree that is really nice, I would buy something like that
-
Here is the latest build, Revells Audi R8 , it was a really easy kit, had some fit issues with the body to frame. I added a spoiler and front spliter, the paint was not the shade I was going for, and while wet sanding I managed to knick the paint with my finger nails.

Question about Micro Mesh
martinfan5 replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the help guys, how long do these micro mesh sheets/pads last? -
Hey guys, I know this might sound like a stupid question, but I have been trying to make my paint jobs better, so I picked up a micro mesh kit , I bought the Revell kit at a LHS, it didn't come with the compound , but I do have both a bottle of polishing compound and scratch X. I know the basics for the most part, but the part that I dont is, do you use the pads and wetsand, or do you use a rubbing compound?.

Here is Tamiya Porsche 911 GT3 kit, it was a very simple kit, use dupicolor white primer, with Tamiya yellow follow with a coat of testors lacquer clear . I picked up this kit over the weekend as a finished building a room reward. I will say after building this one, it left me with that after eating dinner but not feeling full feeling , that's what I get for being rushed by a pregnant women in a warm hobby store . One of the things that I don't like is that the mirrors don't stay on, if you even lightly touch one it falls off, so I need to get more super glue.
