  1. I need the later blue color, not the alpine green. I have a can of that here. Thanks
  2. Well basically, where can I get some?? There are not any dealers around, does anyone have a link to a website I could buy a can from?? Many thanks
  3. That is an awesome start! I can't wait to see more
  4. They are very nice! Fit the Italeri panels perfect, the taller one for the ultra cab does not really line up with the tall roof from porkys. I might try to fit those 2 together this winter. But if you get 1 of the others it will work fine. Mark
  5. Thank you all again!! This was a fun build, hopefully, I will have some updated pics later this week. Mark
  6. Thank you all! Hey Matt that is a nice master you did! I will have another one on the way here soon! Tim that Laidlaw truck looks nice, what is the big spread on the rear axles, is it Canadian?? Mark
  7. Here is my latest project, a learning experience for me. I have never really messed with resin except for lift axles and small parts, the hood on this came from Porkys and it is NICE! I also used one of the new FG rear day cab inserts, also, very nice. I shortened the frame .75" and added rear fenders from Porkys too ( had to stretch mine .25") shortened up the external breathers per pics on truck paper, added plano mess for the grill, and cut the stacks 1". My favorite part of this truck are the winslow decals from Jerry at Modeltruckin, these are really nice, I have quite a few sets here and will be doing another variation or 2 in the future. I still want to add some more details, but my building time has not been great lately. Thanks for looking, Mark
  8. Sound like a great build, can't wait to see it! Mark
  9. That is a beautiful stripe job! I can't imagine trying to install a decal that big. Mark
  10. Both of your KW projects look great and a modern KW is sorely needed in the aftermarket. I will grad a couple for sure. Mark
  11. Thanks, I have the Plano mesh here, I meen what to do to make the grill itself when all you are given is the surround. Something like this: http://www.aitruckmo...7heavyhood.html The vertical bars and perimeter frame with rivet details, not the surround and not the mesh. Is this something that can be cut carefully from a donor chrome grill?? Or scratch built?? Thanks again
  12. I am researching a few of the Pete models that resin hoods are available for mainly the 367 and 365 SBFA. With the grill surround molded in with the hood, how do you make the grill inserts? I have seen a couple builds that look like the insert was carefully cut from a donor grill? Is this how to do it and what is the donor??? Or are they scratch built? The ones I have seen don't look it, but I could be wrong. Thanks for any tips, Mark This is what I am building next: http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=3070793&
  13. I usually use flat black testors paint really thinned down. Some grills are easier than others do get the right effect. If you have a couple in your parts box, practice on those first, keep a paper towel handy to dab up any extra. Good luck Mark
  14. Really nice build you have! I have to say i love the stripe too. I have several sets I just got from Jerry, they are great. I personally like to clear over the decals once done, but that really is a personal preference and has alot to do with the paint type you use. Mark
  15. I just got a few of his air ride trailer axle kits for a project and they are NICE!! Mark
  16. I have been kicking this around myself. I have a really nice shop compressor, I am trying to figure out if I can tee of and regulate another feed down to air brush levels (25-30psi??).
  17. Great build Tim! I like that unique color scheme, what paints did you use?? Thanks, Mark
  18. That is a beautiful paint job! I can't wait to see the flame job, I have one of those masks here, but that build is WAY done the list for me. Mark
  19. I hope you won something! That rig is beautiful! Mark
  20. Wow Tim!! That is just too cool!! Roy, that is a nice model you built too! I am seeing one of these in 1/16 scale for me, but it will be a while 'till I get around to it. Mark
  21. Wow, very nice builds! I like that Rogers trailer, you have a nice simple but effective jig too. Very well done
  22. Hi Bob, I am in the same boat, so to speak. I am building my first Italeri Pete, a 378 with resin set back axle hood from porkys. I have the cab shell assembled and I don't see any problems in completing the assembly. I couldn't imaginge painting the flat parts and then assembling the cab and getting a good result. Tim, Thanks for the glass tip!! I will be using that one soon for sure. Mark
  23. Thank you Anthony, and Kurt! Well, I guess I should not have stripped the chrome off the valve cover! I assume that DD blue is newer than green, anyone know when they switched? I have the alpine green here, I am building a 378SBFA daycab tractor, around a 2000 +/- year. Thanks, Mark
  24. Hey thanks for the replies, I found them! I guess this engine is supposed to be black with a red valve cover?? Mark
  25. Hey all, I have a couple kits I am kicking around here, I just realized i don't have instructions to either one. I have never built one of the Italeri pete kits, so I just don't want to screw up something. The cab is strange to me being a knock down, or whatever you call it. Anyway, does anyone have these scanned in the computer?? Many thanks, Mark PS: What engine is in these kits?? Or is it something made up??
