  1. Hello all, I have been working on a 1/16 scale W900 and I want to plumb the power steering and the remote (oil) filters. Can anyone help me with a good link or pictures?? I get the basic idea for the steering with the remote resevoir, I don't know why there are 3 fittings on it? Here is how I think it should be: hose from resevoir to pump (feed) hose from pump to steering box (presure) return hose from steering box to resevoir (return) So why 3 fittings on the tank? Does the motor have 2 pumps? Any help would be appreciated! Here are a few moch-up pics. I know the table is a horrible mess! Thanks, Mark
  2. WOW!! That is a nice Volvo, I see them too up and down I95. Mark
  3. That BJ and the bear is just nuts for that price! Mark
  4. Very nice Mack Jim! The detail is quite nice and I seem to remember seeing plenty of those APA Macks running around here in the past. Mark
  5. I use and like the Bondo brand spot putty, work well for me. You should be able to get it at Auto Zone, Advanced auto, I think Wal-Mart sells it. Mark
  6. Thanks for all the kind words guys! I really like the old DM800's, will do another one eventually. One thing I WILL change is to machine a metal front axle assembly. The kit one, while only 40 years old, keeps breaking. I think partially from its age, and some from the weight of those big resin wheels and tires. If you ever get the chance to see one of these heavy DMs go see it. There are a few that still operate from time to time in NJ, they are massive, tires are 4.5 feet in diameter, the truck is a wide load by itself, +/- 9 feet wide. They are definately from a different era of road/bridge weight regulations, but they get the job done! Mark
  7. That sleeper is BIG! Where is the pool table going? Mark
  8. Hello all, I have a couple questions about new (2011+) KW C500 and C550 trucks built for Canadian oil work. I included a link to a truck paper add, http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=2588437& What I am trying to determine is the suspension type, the front obviously has no offset, but it looks like a tubular axle / trailing arm set up?? I am just gathering some information for a future project, I am going to do an older and more traditional C500 next. Well any info or links on these type trucks would be much appreciated. Thanks, Mark
  9. Thanks guys! I appreciate it. I really like the very heavy Macks of this era, this model is very loosely based on one that still operates in New Jersey. I want to do another one but it will have to wait for a C500 project I want to start very soon. Oh, that pot is only 45 or 50 tons! LOL Mark
  10. This is the first kit I have built in a number of years, really enjoyed it. Got a lot of stuff going on in the near future, but eventually I want to scratch build an old school low boy for it. Take care, Mark I really like how the paint turned out on this one, and de-chroming 90% of the parts made a huge differnce.
  11. No, a differnet Mark. Yes a new style KW is sorely needed in the hobby. But I will wait on a resin caster to do one as I don't see any model company taking it on. Mark
  12. Very nice truck! Very nice work on that cab. I have been out of this hobby for about ten years, and I must admit I was pretty surprised that nobody casts a modern KW like yours. Mark
  13. That is where I bought mine, it is an awesome detail kit! Really look forward to using it soon. Mark
  14. Looking good, you might motivate me to start mine! Mark
  15. That is a very nice build, love that day cab and I think it turned out great! You all are getting some really nice results with that duplicolor chrome, I might have to give it a try. Mark
  16. Well I had a few hours this weekend, so the chassis finally got painted and assembled. I also moched up a couple pics with the cab too, I think it is looking nice. I still am not sure what I am doing for rear fenders. Tha cab should be on for good tonight. Thanks for looking, Mark
  17. Hessel, Very nice rigs! I like your trailer designs a lot, that gives a nice modern look to that newer style Pete. Mark
  18. Thanks, that sounds like a good way to handel that one! I have one on that back burner myself. Mark
  19. Hello all, Does anyone know where I can find a couple pictures of the frame mounted oil filter as used in the ERTL DM800 kit?? I would like to plumb it, but I can not find anything about it. I assume it is know longer used today?? Many thanks, Mark
