Go back, Monsieur Zeb! I posted an answer. Now tell me if I made your day! Andy
-
I just bet that you are thinking everyone is going to say Stutz Bearcat or Mercer Raceabout, especially with that yellow paint job but some of us brass era aficionadas know better. I will say Oakland 1910-1915 approx. Did I amke your day, Mr. Zeb? Andy Martin

I thought this was Harry messing with us - "real or model?". Very nice job on a cool car! Even rarer was the Jeepster with the Rebel machine paint job and scoop on it. I don't remember what it was officially called but I actually saw one parked on a street one day back in the early 80s and I remember seeing little press release articles in the car mags when it was introduced. It wouldn't be too hard to kit-bash that one. Andy Martin

Bob, Do you know a source for the SAAB 96 kit! Me must have! Andy Martin

Modelmartin replied to Fuel Coupe's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I have seen the resin one on Ebay but it doesn't impress me. I believe it was made by cutting down an AMT 70 style Nova which makes sense. There is an outfit in Germany that makes a stock 1/24 Opel Kadett. Good luck on your project. That is a very cool car and hope you can get it built. http://www.bs-design-automodelle.de/index.html Andy Martin -
"Holy Grail" Models?
Modelmartin replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The title of this thread is misleading. The Holy Grail is the thing you seek just like King Arthur in Monty Python's Holy Grail. You guys are listing your favorite kits which is fine. My favorite kits I own ( therefore not holy grails since I found them) Britten 1/12 battle of the twins racebike Profil 24 & Lemans kits of the 2 Bugatti T57 Lemans winners -'37 & '39 All of my Fishermodels 917 kits ( I have them all) Wills Finecast 1/24 1907 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Wills Finecast 1/24 Bugatti T59 and a whole bunch of others! Holy Grail ? Dunno. Andy -
That camper would be a 68 to 71 with those bumpers, I think. Zeb's UDO - Autocar? Andy
-
I got to quit lobbing softballs at you guys! Doble production lasted longer (approx. '22 to '30) but they lost $50,000 on each of the roughly 3 dozen model D and E cars but they were magnificent. Andy

Concept car is the LaSalle II. They also built a LaSalle II sedan if'n my memory is firing on enough synapses. I think they found chunks of it in the junkyard in Michigan and are attempting a resto. Andy I know Zeb has a whatzit trying to be IDed but I wanted to throw this one in. Andy

Now Zeb, Is that the same P. Bush that was money laundering for the Nazis in '42? His kin have continued the proud family tradition of power and money over the interests of the American people. GHW with the Iranians, and Kuwaitis, and Shrub with the Saudis. The last refuge of a scoundrel is patriotism. Andy

Zeb's head must be getting bigger by the hour. I have tons and tons of reference material and I am sure I could find it but I don't have time. There were actually hundreds of different auto manufactureers during the teens operating at any one time. Come on Zeb! Spill. Andy

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner and new champion! Now nail Zeb's red touring car and your awesomeness will be established permanently! Andy

Steve used alclad on thin sheet plastic. I think it said so in the article. The model looks even better in person. His next model will blow minds when it is done. Sorry, I am sworn to secrecy about the subject! Andy

Hey Gregg, My sister found this fixer-upper in the California desert for $5K. I am serious. It has several acres around it! There are great cheap properties in the middle of North Dakota, too. Lots of room for everything out there! Andy

I kind of like living in a place where I don't need a gun to be feel safe. I have never felt unsafe in Minnesota. I can not recall a time in my life when I ever felt like I needed that kind of protection anywhere I have lived or travelled. Y'all must encounter a lot of hairy situations down south and in the woods of Oregon and the urban jungle of Detroit (I can understand the need in Detroit) and all of your various locations. I don't mean to pick on any one locale. Is there an actual need or is it is just fear? I am curious. Andy

I give up! Uncle! Andy

Zeb, Let's try another name - Argonne built in Jersey City, NJ. Andy

Zeb and Gregg you are incorrect! Gregg has the nation of manufacturer correct. I am so very disappointed that Biddle was not correct for Zeb's red touring car. It is not a limo, Zeb. You might need to brush up on your coachwork nomenclature. They have an almost identical radiator shell and are the right era. grrrrrrr. I don't know if anyone else out there can get it. You might just have to spill it out! Andy
-
Here is a cute one I just spied! And I am giving you front and rear views!!! Have fun! Andy
-
Why Zeb, everyone knows that that is a Biddle with a Rochester-Duesenberg motor! Early to mid-20s? And a schoolbus yellow GP car with a #5 on it? Should be a Mclaren but I am not a F1 eggspurt! M7A? Andy

Oh Zeb! Look what you have started. There is now no way ever that this liberal tree-hugging hippy will ever go to the south! You folks are quite frightening. I love living in the middle of two of the most liberal cities in the country. Minneapolis and St. Paul went for John Kerry by 4 to 1 in 2004. My congressman is a Black muslim who took his oath on Thomas Jefferson's Koran. I voted for him. My city councilperson is actually Green Party. Unfortunately our state legislature allowed conceal and carry laws to go into effect but allows individual property owners to ban guns on their premises. I wish I was in the sign business. There is hardly a building in the metro area without a sign explicitly banning guns on the premises, even construction sites! I am just laying this all out for y'all so you know enuff to not come and get infected with liberal disease by coming up here. Your redneck bona-fides may be compromised! Andy

Bare-Metall foil is simply aluminum foil with adhesive on it. Go to the kitche get a little chunk of foil and then put a small drop of white glue (Elmer's , Crystal Clear, etc.) on the bare patch. Press the foil on and squeeze out the glue. Andy

Bearing in mind the Mark Twain quote, "There are 3 kinds of lies - Lies, ###### lies, and statistics!". I will offer that almost everything I have read says that a firearm is far more more likely to kill or injure it's owner or a family member or friend than to ever repel an evildoer. I know, I know, all you gun enthusiasts will say that no one keeps track of successful defensive use of weapons. It seems to be common sense that the more weapons floating around out there the more they will be used. Duh! Unfortunately there are already too many weapons out there and they very easily get into the wrong hands. As for all of you who persist in name calling and blaming liberals for all of the woes of your small little worlds I say wake up and try to figure out how the real world runs instead of listening to talk radio and thinking that semi-clever putdowns of others will actual do anything to solve anything. Oh well! Andy
