Whoops, just realized where I posted this..can an admin move it to the truck/SUV section. Thanks for the comments guys. VR Earle -
Here's a bunch of 1/64th stuff i just completed. Reworked & printed all the decals myself. Camera really doesn't do them justice but i promise the decals didn't come out blurry I have multiple pics but figured one would be enough Oh yea, white cars are about it right now. Working on a few VSP ones at the moment. Thanks Earle
-
Just a basic model with decals added. Decals were made and printed by me. Still need to add the plates though. Thanks Earle
-
Is it me or are HL prices going up. Still love the coupon though

Had an older set of decals to make this and a great kit over all. If i do come across another set of these decals the old ones will come off and be re-centered. I had the area all wet and once i set the decal down on it that was it. It started to rip once i tried to move it. Add the detail to the windows and rims. Other than that pretty much out of the box. Thanks Earle

My first plastic dodge kit ...Still need to work on some things
-
David, I'll have to take a pic of the back. I didn't have a horrible time getting the bumper on but I did end up with a gap. My issue is the chassis to the body, I'll have to research that to see if I'm doing something wrong.
-
Thanks, I did paint the inside of the light. When I put it together it looked great, until the lamp was left on.. I need to find me a set of those wheels to try out..
-
Oh and i learned not to forget to leave the light on after i finish as it sent all the blue paint in the light to the base and i glued the clear part to the base
-
Just finished this one up, it went through 11 paint jobs until i just got tired of trying to make it just right. Still not truely satisfied with the paint but guess it will due and will serve as a learning process. I should have pulled the wheels off to cut them down to fit better (the fronts stick out and the rear doesn't ), I had a hard time trying to get the chassis to even line up with the body. Anyone have pointers on that? I have about 3 more kits in the works and would love to have them all sitting the right way. Seems like there was no where to place it or rest it on when assembling it. Decals are Pursuit. I do love these colors and wish i had more decals sets for FSP. VR Earle

Finished this one a few weeks ago. Really not a bad kit at all. Decals are from pursuit and I custom made the antenna. VR Earle

This one started life as a Texas DSP but after multiple attempts at painting that i changed to this. Decals are custom made by me. Needs an antenna still but i'll work that one at a later time. Spotlight is from the lindberg charger kits. VR Earle

Stop painting from cracking

Bought them at the same time last month. -
Well this is the 3rd time i've tried to paint this model and no matter what black i use it messes it up somehow. So i stripped it, washed it, let it dry for a few days. Then primed with dupli-color primer, started with the almound color for the top half. No issues...taped off and laid down a quick shot of primer. Shot a light coat of dupli-color black...no issues. Ran another coat of black and then the cracking started. Let the car dry, wet sanded those area's smooth carefully washed those areas and rinsed trying not to ruin the taped off section, shot another coat of primer and repeated the same steps...I'll be @#$% if it didn't happen again. What am i doing wrong that this never happen the very first time i sprayed this car but messed up something else. Thanks in advance for any guidence. I just want to get this FSP monaco done and one the shelf.... VR Earle

removing color from clear molded items
SFC_Allen replied to SFC_Allen's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks guys, didn't think about casting it at all. Might be a new challenge for me VR Earle -
Kinda hard to know what to state as a topic but here's what i was wondering.... I have a pre-painted lightbar..is there a way to get the color removed and get it back to just a clear? I understand that if it was just pre-painted then it might come off fairly easy, but what if the mold was made with a clear red color? I saw an answer on a post either on here or another site but i can't find it now. Thanks in advance Earle

where to buy flocking
SFC_Allen replied to SFC_Allen's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Never knew Hayes carried it there. I've asked a few questions a few times and seems like I was asking to much and was bothering them, so now I just go and get what i need and leave. If they have it i get it..if not i find another source. I don't know maybe it was bad timing those few days. VR Earle -
