  1. Bill I think you hit the nail on the head I think all that is just for show and the real work is down below. Just to many things do not add up. No matter what it does add up to someone who has a lot of time and money to much of the second IMHO. But it is pretty darn impressive and regardless it took a lot of engineering to make it look convincing to most
  2. good pun nice and subtle
  3. Oh my word Tom thank you so much for the huge belly laugh. It was a great way to start the morning! A seat belt is a new one to me I have seen chain, rope extentsion cord, even a tire to push the car in front but the winner of the dumbest idea award goes to my buddy Charlie who tried making a rope out of duct tape and tow a car with a 10 hp lawn tractor. I hate using this pharse but it is only thing that fits "EPIC FAIL!!!!"
  4. Like someone said the chevy red is really more orange in the real world. But m.m. And other paint are to much of a true red for the chevy colour IMO.
  5. I'd use artist chalk if you screw up rub it off and try again when you got it how you like just clear coat the tyre and its good to go
  6. You end saying to someone at the end of it well it seemed like a good idea at the time
  7. Oh ouch that is something I want to try before I die the surfing part not getting hit in the head with a skeg part. Lol. That story reminded me of the of the time I was flying across the lake in my boat and I hit an underwater rock tore the skeg off and chewed the prop up good thank god the lower unit stayed together but boy is that a sudden stop. Funny thing is we went over that same spot many times before
  8. Oh man I am waiting to get hit with it I do every year since my transplant. All I can say is rest up as best you can and get better soon we need ya to keep build those nice looking models
  9. I have been in scale model supply several times and I have never seen a slot car track where is it? Is it in that back room that is straight behind all the paints, magazine, and evergreen/plastistrut aisle? Oh is there a secret room where I need to know special handshake and a code word lol.
  10. you stole my line I guess us MN boys think alike
  11. I wish my bmf skills were that good
  12. I agree I cringed reading the bike story. I got another one. I was in high school shop class and made a nice oak coffee table for my mom. When it came time to put hinges on the door I held the door with my left hand while I drilled the holes with my right. The bottom hinge went fine but as I was drilling the upper hinge I felt a poke in my index finger (this was before variable speed drills ) the bit went clean through my finger before I could react. When I did stop the drill it was still in my finger and I was to chicken to pull it out. So I walk calmly somehow up to my shop teacher with a coffee table door a drill and my finger all together. Now I should have known better then to walk up to mr. Dunn for help being he was missing two fingers of his own. He swiftly plugs the drill in pulls the trigger and separates me from the door before I knew what was going to happen.. well at that time I turned white as a ghost and promptly collapse to the floor fighting the urge to pass out. After that experience I decided auto shop and welding were a better fit for me I just sent shivers down my spine thinking about it. Almost as bad as when I cut my finger off but that is a whole other story
  13. I think you did a great job. I don't know why but to me the trunk lines look a bit off and I can't say why exactly. Other then that I think it looks fantastic
  14. I have been wondering where they are going to hold events like M.J. now that the dome is gone I just walked by it yesterday and the front fascia is gone and all that is left is a couple parts of the sides
  15. Are you throwing in a B.B. or a mouse motor? Great start so far on a kit that is so lacking because its a snapper
  16. This is amazing you have amazing skills. May I ask what model you started out with? The frame is all scratch built correct? Again absolutely amazing work. I always liked the Aussie utes and the 70's aussie falcons I wish they caught on here in the USA Can't wait to see more mate
  17. Very cool I loved your 50 and I will be watching this build. Who knew so much work goes into something that is basically square lol.
  18. I still can't figure out why a girls bike had a back that swooped down and a boys bike had the bar that went straight so we were sure to crack out (ahmms) on. I am surprised half of my generation can still have kids
  19. Thank you all for your answers
  20. All great tips but I personally prefer a frisket or liquid masking depending on how intricate the two tone will get ifis just masking off ahard top then I would also just use a paper masking but if it has multiple angles and curves frisket or liquid is what i'd use
  21. I do not have experience with these but what I would suggest is spraying the sprue both (primered and un-primered) of the kit you would like to use first and see how the paint reacts with the sprue. That way you would know for sure how things will turn out
  22. Don I know that slap. Harry I agree he should be a writer I laughed quite hard over the churning grinder of death comment
  23. I have been thinking of getting into slot cars Is there anywhere in Minneapolis that does racing. Or am I pretty much on my own
  24. This is good to know because I always wanted a dio with a train set. I knew H.o. And N gauge where to small but never thought of it much more then that
