  1. I'm told that the wing tips folding up on the passenger jet wings is a fuel savings thing. I don't know how.
  2. I have got some more done; still working on the seat and a bunch of other little things but it starting to look like the real car.
  3. A modern day sprint car and a vintage midget along with a vintage supermodified all in 1/8th scale. If they did that I might be out of business, though. Especially the sprint car, that would sell like hot cakes like the little 1/24 ones do.
  4. A little more done on the 1/8 scale sprinter.
  5. I've got the rear end set; still needs trailing arms, shocks and a Jacobs ladder. Motor in and injectors through the hood. That is a classic look, I think.
  6. Got the grill and front axle finished up; all out of styrene.
  7. I've finished making the fiberglass body for this sprinter and have it fitted. I still have to cut out the hood.
  8. I'm starting another sprint car for a client in Vegas. He had this Beck sprint car restored 3 years ago and had been going all over racing it in vintage shows. He contacted me about buildinga replica last summer and we were to meet up at a race in Calif, in July. The week before, he was racing his sprinter and destroyed it and himself. He was in a hospital, up in Oregon, for months, before being released to go home. These vintage sprint cars really interest me. This one has a bolt on cage, buggy spring front with torsion bars at the rear. Beautiful car. The model will have injectors not a carb like the real one had.
  9. The front wheels are turned to the right and the pitman arm is forward. The drag link is hooked up. Not all race cars back then had the pitman arm straight up and down when the wheels are pointed straight.
  10. Thanks Maddog; here it is all done and ready to go to it's new owner in Phoenix.
  11. Thanks Jimmy, here's she is with decals.
  12. Thanks Bob; I've finally got it up on tires and wheels.
  13. I'm back on this model to finish it. Very colorful, if nothing else. I find the bird cage to wishbone radius rod connection very interesting. The rods attach solid to a plate which is part of the birdcage. There's a hiem's end wher it connects to the frame but that's all. This model suspension actually works, even the buggy spring front.
  14. That is certainly one of the best models I have ever seen built.
  15. Very cool idea and outstanding work. My wife say this and now I have to build a model of our trailer insead of race cars.
  16. Thanks Dave; I gave it another try and it came out close enough. Painting is a different animal than building and I have not come close to mastering it. I'm getting better at seat covers though.LOL
  17. Well, I'm back on the midget, getting it finished up. Paint job was horrible so I'm doing that over but she's up on wheels and the seat is almost done, etc.,etc.. 18. I responded twice to your e-mail; I'm guessing you got it by now.
