  1. Thanks John, Yes we are getting close to the finish. Painting the body tomorrow or monday.
  2. Dave, this is turning into a really nice piece. Good work so far buddy.
  3. Nice as usual
  4. Thanks Guys, Compared to some of you I am a hack. I saw the Surfers coverage on the U.S. Nats and was blown away by it. The seat is just sheet styrene and half rod. Its not entirely accurate but it works. Here's a small update Got the scratch built front axle hung Better shot of the scoop Rebuilt axle interior shot Thanks again
  5. thats a really nice engine. Does he offer a 392 engine in 1/16 to back date the f/e cars and bucks down racers?
  6. In my opinion Your hood is still too High Rommell,. I guess it depends on whether your after accuracy or wow factor. Take about half the hood bulge out and you'll have it where it needs to be. Again just my opinion..
  7. The problem you could have with your kits will be body warpage and decal deterioration. The glue holding the boxes together will break down as well. just keep the room at a constant temperature and it should be OK
  8. turned out nice. Digging the canard wings...
  9. Here's a few pics from today. Resin cast Surfers scoop is a modified scoop from the tony Nancy kit. Tuck and roll interior wiring done redid the body too Thanks again
  10. outstanding job !!!!!
  11. those are really nice Wayne
  12. Thanks guys, Means a lot coming from all of you. I'm just a hack compared to some here. Here's a small update on the fuel system, I studied quite a few pics and think I may have the elaborate fuel system sorted out. I need to install the fuel linkage and the return spring. Thanks again guys
  13. Bottom line you got out, It can ALL be replaced. Take lots of pics, get in touch with your insurance NOW and secure your property. Been through several Hurricanes down here on the gulf coast so I know your pain. Glad your all OK
  14. Yep, going to get this one
  15. Sometimes you need to sacrifice form for function. You can either thin down the .060 piece to .050 or just go with the .040. If it were me I would go with the .040. I really need to look into a cad program, your scratch built pieces are fantastic..
  16. I'll be in touch Jack. I have a bantam bodied Lyndwood chassis car I want build after this . It has simple white lettering. Hopefully we can pull it off. Oh and Yes Jack, That is a JAWA Speeday bike. Really nice early kit.. Heres another small update. I started running the fuel lines for the car am trying to replicate the sophisticated fuel system as no one else was running it. Scratch built pump and fuel blocks as well as scratch built blower belt from the card stock that RB motion uses on their packaging and some .22x.22 square stock I personally feel that now that its built that the square stock should have been smaller if available.
  17. John, Really nice car. Your subject matter always gets my interest. One question, How are you making the blower belts on your cars. I haven't found one that works for me...
  18. nice as usual Chuck... Hope your hand is healing up well...
  19. really nice work. The chassis is really great. I've done some brass Chassis work and this one blows away anything Ive done. Great job.
  20. Don't misunderstand my quote. I knew the tires are too small in the kit, what I missed was the size difference in the diggers and funny car kits...
  21. Here's a quick update. After looking at pics of the chassis I realized it was way off and too long through the cockpit. I also missed the upswept chassis so to get the front down I made the front axle too long So I did a little cutting to clear those problems up so hopefully I'm on track now. Like I said, Pretty lame update but I just wanted to share my little set back I think everyone can see it definitely helped the look of the car. I'll start detailing the engine and paint the chassis for the next update. Thanks again guys for allowing me to hang with such great builders. The drag section of theis forum is full of some really top notch builders...
  22. I have all the 1/16 scale funny car and dragsters that have been released and never paid any attention to the tire height difference. good eye and great update...
