  1. Thanks, but I had to make modifications to make these wheels fit, so it's kinda stuck this way. However, whenever Round 2 re-releases the AMT Tall T, I plan to take the original steelies and the chopped body from this, and the steelies and chassis from the tall T, to make a proper 60's hot rod with cycle fenders. The Tall T or roadster body will go on this chassis with the bling rims. Um... Thanks?
  2. This is the first (and only) car model I've finished since I got back into car modelling last year (I've been a sci-fi modeler for years). Now I have a bunch of cars in varying states of completion. Link to more photos This is a repop of a kit that first came out in 1960, and it does show it's age. It's built mostly out of the box. I wanted to use the old-school hot-rod white-walls that came with the kit, but for some reason the manufacturer did not include enough rims - there were 4 white-walls and 2 drag slicks, and 2 rims for the drag slicks and only 2 rims for the white-walls. While doing research, I found photos of a rat-rod sporting 22 inch rims as a joke by the car's owner, so I decided to add these "thug-ride" rims I found cheap at my local hobby shop. I stripped all of the chrome off. The frame and motor were painted with Model Master red, the body and interior were painted Model Master primer gray, and a few shades of Model Master Metallizers were used for the various hardware. I gave it a liberal application of Tamiya Weathering Master Soot, Rust and Mud. I attached a side mirror from a die-cast VW bug. It's now impossible to see much detail inside, but the seats were painted black with steel shells, and the gauge cluster came from a die-cast VW bug. I painted the shift knob to look like an 8-ball. I'm not entirely happy with how this came out, and I see so many things I would have done differently, but I'm glad I didn't give up and stuff it back in a box. My next rat rod will be much rattier.
  3. Nice work on your GN. I really like the added details in the interior. I had one of these models back in the '80s, when I was still new to the hobby. Mine didn't look anywhere near as good as yours does.
  4. Nice work!
  5. I have one somewhere in my stash, that I had planned to combine with the chassis from an AMT 69 Roadrunner Pro-Street. Never came to pass, as there were some differences between AMT's and Revell's take on what should have been an identical chassis, and I didn't feel comfortable enough in my skills to tackle it.
  6. Excellent work, Dominik. I think you have a great eye for detail.
  7. Very nice work. I want one of these kits so bad...
  8. Mini Cooper Mk1, currently unfinished:
