  1. Hey Doc, I'm in, but I want to make sure my idea fits. I want to make a hot rod put together during a post-alien-robot-invasion-apocalypse recovery. Would that work?
  2. I have 3 of these under my bench, and I think I may get 1 or 2 more. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40107872/#/40107872
  3. HobbySearch (Japanese seller) has this in stock: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10101192
  4. I got one of these for Christmas: I've been wanting one since it came out last year, to play and program my synthesizers even though I am really bad at playing keys. Considering that a setup to use a real guitar as a midi controller could cost upwards of $1,000, I think this is a great alternative.
  5. I am reasonably certain I bought less than a dozen kits this year, but I haven't finished any models this year due to a lack of a place to do painting.
  6. Twenty-two?!? How much coffee do you go through, Man? Excellent work, Chuck!
  7. I'd like to do this, too. I have had an idea for something more "retro-pocalypse," kind of an alternative history, post-alien-invasion rat rod. Would this work in the confines of the contest?
  8. It's from an anime called "Future GPX Cyber Formula." I have one of the kits in my stash, and even wilder car called the "Spiegel." The driver lies flat inside the main body, and uses a Heads Up Display to see where she is going.
  9. I had something very similar happening with Google Chrome. Half the page would black out momentarily, and some threads made the browser crash. It only started after my wife installed download accelerator and video accelerator programs. When she un-installed them, the problem went away. I don't know if you are running any accelerator programs, but it could also be a plug-in or extension in Chrome... Hope this helps.
  10. It happened to me once, a couple years ago. I was working on my Tamiya Morris Mini Cooper, which is a beautiful kit. But, I just kept having repeated problems with the paint, and I had already stripped and repainted the body twice. My third paint job got damaged, and I calmly put away the Mini. Then the stack of kits I put the Mini on fell over. I then started grabbing models off my shelf that I never had been satisfied with, throwing them against the wall, and stomping on them with my boots, screaming unintelligibly the whole time. I took a hammer to an old toy that I planned to scavenge for greeblies for sci-fi builds. I only stopped long enough to reassure my wife that I wasn't hurt, and that I needed to do this. After I was done, I felt much calmer, and much more in control of myself. I cleaned up the carnage, and haven't gone anywhere near that crazy since then.
  11. It's a tough call, but I think I like the folded-top look just a little bit better. I am loving your work on this one! I think the Lotus 4 is an excellent match for the car.
  12. I have never used the Citadel white primer, but in my experience their other colors tend to not stick too well to plastic not made by Games Workshop.
  13. Looking real good, Chuck. I love post-apocalypse rides.
  14. Agreed. I only have one that's about 3/4 done, but the only problem I have really had was a paint issue likely of my own creation.
  15. This is me about 6 years ago: Nothing says "rock 'n roll" like a nice set of pretty curtains.
  16. Very nice work, Aaron. I have the rally version of this on the bench, I hope it comes out even half as nice as yours.
  17. WOW! Beautiful job, John!
  18. I love these, Doc. Excellent work.
  19. Andy - I play an Ibanez 6-string that I bought new for $200 back in 2000. If I were going for another new 6-string, I would definitely look at Ibanez again.
  20. I play bass and a little bit of guitar. I also do digital multitrack recording. I try to write my own songs and I sometimes record remixes and re-arranged covers. This is the only thing I have on-line that I feel good about sharing. It's a cover of a Nine Inch Nails song called Piggy that I recorded quite a few years ago. http://remix.nin.com/play/mix?id=19986
  21. I love post-apocalyptic rides. You're doing a great job on this one. Very nice weathering work. Have you thought of maybe having some kind of big gun hanging out of the passenger door?
  22. I like this very much. Good job!
