  1. Excellent build. I love it.
  2. Mine has the same date code, however, I don't have as much flash around my engine. I do see some around other parts, like the chassis and some of the suspension. So, less flash on individual parts, but more parts have flash.
  3. A beautiful build. Excellent work.
  4. There are decals for the side trim, but there is no way they will accurately replicate chrome. At best, they might look like silver paint.
  5. I just picked up a Rat Roaster a few hours ago. As indicated in Dr. Cranky's unboxing, some of the parts are surprisingly flashy for a new tool kit. I feel like the side trim on the body is a bit poorly defined, making it hard to tell where to apply bare-metal foil. That being said, i still think it looks like a nice kit, and I am looking forward to getting started on it.
  6. Well, if you are holding a document (or an ancient Mayan stone calendar) upside down, then the text will by default also be displayed backwards...
  7. Happy Sound Check Day! (1-2, 1-2, 1-2) The end is coming in 5105. We've been looking at the dang thing upside down.
  8. I actually have issue #1 of the ALF comic book from back in the day. I bought it for less than $2 dollars, and then saw it listed for $15 a few months later. I thought I had hit a gold mine, but got nowhere when I tried to sell it some time later. I absolutely remember The Young Ones, I think it was one of the funniest shows i had ever seen. "It must be some kind of negative reality inversion!"
  9. Cannon fodder suits are the best. They make great canvases for customizing.
  10. Felix Baumgartner didn't actually fall to the Earth. The gravitational force of his massive cojones pulled the Earth up to him.
  11. At first, I wasn't too sure about the red radiator shell. Now that I see the inspiration for it, I totally get it. Great job, Andy!
  12. TJ sounds like a good man, leaping into action to help his friend like that. All the more reason for him to wear his helmet, as we need people like him to still be around.
  13. John, I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in my thoughts.
  14. You did a great job on this model, Mark!
  15. For cars, I tend to go for old-school kustoms, hot-rods and rat-rods, but I will go with anything that catches my eye. For my modeling hobby in general, my particular interests come and go (aircraft, armor, Star Trek, Star Wars), but I always end up coming back to anime robots, like Mobile Suit Gundam.
  16. Brilliant! I like this very much.
  17. Good on ya, Kevin. Keep it up! I never smoked, but my Dad did until the day he died. He didn't believe that second-hand smoke was harmful, so he constantly smoked inside the house. I would get respiratory infections every couple of months, but he refused to believe there was a connection, even when the doctors told him. After he passed, you could still smell the smoke that had been absorbed by the house, even years later. When I moved out on my own, and was no longer exposed to the cigarette smell everyday, my senses of smell and taste eventually opened up, and I was amazed at what I had been missing.
  18. Nice! The vocalist sounds a little like the vocalist from Like of Agony.
  19. Dehydrated water. Just add water.
  20. Hi Daryl, If you were thinking of using this for paint storage, I would recommend against it. I had one of these, and they are really flimsy. I used mine for paint, and the casters broke under the weight.
  21. My sister in law's husband is a big fan of Trabants. He owns and drives a Trabant P60. One day, he handed me the recent Revell of Germany Trabant 601 kit and asked me if I could build it to sort of replicate his P60. He is aware that it is a kit of a different car, he just wants me to match the colors and trim. However, I went looking for a garage kit to convert the 601 to a P60, as according to my SIL's husband, the two models are mechanically identical. My Googling has yielded no results. Is anyone here aware of a P60 conversion kit? Thanks in advance!
  22. Why not use modern parts in a Rat Rod? My understanding is that Rat Rods came about through rodders using whatever they could get their hands on to maker their car go fast, sometimes even using stolen parts. I personally feel that being purist about it is too limiting, and goes against that spirit. I say, with models and 1:1 cars, do whatever looks good and feels good, and whatever you can afford.
  23. Tell that to the occupants of the 2 other cars he crashed into.
