  1. Another slam dunk from the Modelhaus. How much more correct looking can that truck be? -MJS
  2. Very cool, we used to have a '74 Corona MK II wagon when I was growing up. Learned how to drive a manual transmission in that car. -MJS
  3. Sometimes I use it to spray paint small parts, attach with a tiny bit of glue, and everything stays put. -MJS
  4. Y'know, once you see how good that '67 Mustang coupe body is, you'll probably want to build it. And you may, at that point, elect to use the trunklid area from a common AMT '66 coupe body, along with a '65-'66 top boot from Modelhaus for your conversion. Doing the rear interior 1/4 panels from Evergreen/Plastruct is no big deal, and the total work involved is the same or less than using the resin body parts. Just a thought... -MJS
  5. Add me to the impressed list, Tom. Those Ford F-150s are amazing! Replica stock is hard to build and is somewhat less recognized at shows because it's deceptively difficult, and many think that the kit came that way. But it's always the class that I'm most impressed with. -MJS
  6. I think we could, but the fuel surcharge could get ugly! -MJS
  7. I made the base from a few pieces of Evergreen styrene, and the antenna is a piece of trash bag twist tie wire wrapped around a small drill bit. -MJS
  8. Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I made the mirror frames out of soldered brass rod, and the mirrors are from the F-350 kit. I wanted strength too, and the brass fit the bill. -MJS
  9. Thanks, the bed, wheels, and tires are from the Modelhaus. I rolled it around in genuine Arizona dust to highlight the tires, and got scale rocks in the treads as a bonus. --MJS
  10. Keep up the good work Liam, you rarely see this kit built cleanly and with all the details, there is a lot to show off. -MJS
  11. Finished, build thread here: http://www.modelcars...showtopic=51330 -MJS
  12. Another tip for making vinyl tires look more like rubber is to rub them with lacquer thinner on a towel or rough rag. -MJS
  13. It's going to be 79 degrees here tomorrow. Shorts and a T-shirt. Being a Zonie has it's advantages. -MJS
  14. Minus 20% for ebay/Paypal fees. Still pretty nuts. -MJS
  15. Hey, it lives. Here's another one from the past, a '73 built from the "Cat" edition. I always liked this kit. The wheels are from a Monogram '70 Chevelle, the tires are Monogram Michelins, the whitewalls are ancient stickers from a '61-ish AMT kit, and the rest is box stock. -MJS
  16. Nice job Dodge-ifying the bed side contours, I was wondering if you did something there. It really came together nicely. -MJS
  17. In a few weeks, someone will buy another one of those for $20. It's the way of the 'bay. -MJS
  18. I forgot that part, net tests the engine as installed in a car, with all power robbing accessories in place, but not actually in the car, and yes, power is measured at the crank and not the wheels. There are pages and pages of control spec on manufacturer testing of an engine, it's quite complicated to comply with the standard. -MJS
