  1. I know the thread is old, but Wow, what else can be said; it's among the best in the world of this type of build. -MJS
  2. See the thread on the reissue '66 Mustang in new kit reviews for pics of these tires. Very nice if you ask me, I'd buy a few sets. -MJS
  3. I built the Corvette America as a young guy in the early '80s. It was cool then, and came with a very nice set of wire wheels that eventually went on a JoHan '64 Caddy convertible. -MJS
  4. Against the right background, that would look absolutely real. -MJS
  5. 11 bucks is about what the USPS charges to ship a kit in the states Priority mail, go to their website and enter the box size and weight in the shipping calculator and see what you come up with. You can do the click and ship for Priority on the USPS website and print your own postage, but to get the cheaper parcel post shipping, you have to wait in line at the post office. I don't do that for small, cheap packages, because PO lines are among the most infuriating there are. I do it for big, expensive items because they are significantly cheaper to ship that way. Kit's sometimes don't fit in the flat rate boxes with enough room for good padding, so a bigger box must be used, and they nail you for the shipping cost on your own packaging, even if your box is smaller than the flat rate box. As for ebay, I used to sell like mad there, but I stopped that about 4 years ago when they got crazy with the rules that heavily favored buyers, and screwed sellers in any way they could figure out how to. I could go on and on about how their rules got ever more draconian to the sellers, but I don't feel like working myself up over them and venting to internetland about it. I do buy there, but I took the hint that they don't want small-time sellers any more, and so off I went. -MJS
  6. This is my daily driver... So I imagine I'll reward Revell's excellent choice by going completely insane in the membrane and buying way more than I should. Even if the top of the rear window is a touch too low. This could get spendy. -MJS
  7. They probably can't call them Astros. -MJS
  8. It's not that this all this stuff is now worth more, it's that your dollars are worth less. -MJS
  9. Great job by Revell on the body proportions, the hood looks like it can be fixed easily enough, and the resin casters are sure to offer up a corrected version. I haven't built a perfect kit yet, they all have something that needs attention, and this one looks at least on par with the imported kits. -MJS
  10. Yours isn't the only country he's schooling. This may be the first model I've seen with a plumbed A/C condenser, it wouldn't surprise me if he included the high side/low side schrader valves as well. -MJS
  11. Being a new Corvette, there is guaranteed to be a glue kit of it, and likely nothing else from 2013 that might sell. -MJS
  12. The Centurions were converted in the US from 4dr F150s and F250s, with shortened frames to mount the Bronco rear body parts behind the rear doors. They were neat, and very expensive. I like this one: -MJS
  13. One of the best die cast builds I've ever seen, just outstanding. The color combo can't be improved upon either, everything is period perfect. -MJS
  14. It looks more like a Dodge apocal car. -MJS
  15. Neat job. I believe that the Tonka branded cars were made by Maisto. -MJS
  16. I got a 1:1 '64 Sprint glue bomb. This'll take a few cans of Testors, I think. -MJS
  17. Great traders: thatz4u B.DougBeck VW Dave gray07 RodneyBad Mopar Mike -Mike S.
  18. The 540K is certainly my favorite German car of that era, and I don't think that Leno would mind adding it to his collection. He has a lot of money, but who is to say how much he has available? 15-20 million is a lot of cabbage, even to the wealthy, and he just took a substantial pay cut. He might have to off a few Duesenbergs to buy this, and he may well like those better. -MJS
  19. And now we have Juggalos. That's progress. -MJS
  20. Citroen mechanics were never bored. -MJS
  21. Fantastic job on one of the best looking movie cars ever. Lots of work, and lots to be proud of. -MJS
  22. John, I built a 1:1 '37 Ford pickup for a customer about three years ago. I understand your fathers' conversion to the extended cab - as cool as they are, if you're much over 5'7", they have pretty bad leg room. -MJS
