  1. Amazing build, I think that trans kit would make me nuts. It will be one seriously impressive F-40. -MJS
  2. Salvaged rebuilt glue bombs are my favorite type of build, just like restoring a neglected real car. The Chev is unimprovable. -MJS
  3. That's a full size dinghy that an artist attached to steel tubing sprues to make a life-size "kit". -MJS
  4. It's unexpected, but the lines really work well. Because you asked for comments or suggestions, mine is to chop it. The side windows are too tall, and lowering the lid will really make the whole car flow. -MJS
  5. Roll that beautiful bean footage. -MJS
  6. Yep, I see the Mesa cops doing it all the time; no lights/siren, but getting there fast, (esp. in their new RWD Caprice units) often lights only for a quiet response. Never seen one do a code 3 for lunch in 40 years. -MJS
  7. I'm not sure that kit has ever been successfully assembled. Those old Revells fought you every step of the way. -MJS
  8. STUNNING. -MJS
  9. Before the shut down, I had a little over 500 posts and the Ohana rating. After it came back up, I had 466 posts. I wonder which ones got vaporized? -MJS
  10. Ebay prices have a lot to do with who is looking for that kit, that week. If two or more bidders want it bad enough, there is no such thing as book value. Some kits consistently bid high, but even those have a bad week sometimes. And that's when I get them. I've bid up to $75 on a kit, lost out to higher bids a half dozen times on the same kit, and then won one for $30 or so the next time; and often a nicer one at that. It just depends who you are bidding against and how bad they want it. -MJS
  11. Very nice job un-altering the wheel base, really cool Nova with shades of the Rick Dobbertin beast. -MJS
  12. Great idea! How's this? To be honest, I never thought of it. But it clearly works just the same. The trunk is pretty thick, there is at least 1.5 mm left at the ends. -MJS
  13. Thanks Dan. I made a pair of inner 1/4 window frames: And installed them. First round of filler done. -MJS
  14. Super nice build, David. While speaking of updates, the grille looks like a snap-kit/promo unit with the built-in chrome headlights. The glue kit versions of these '92-'95 AMT F-150s have separate clear headlight/corner lenses which look much better, and are a direct swap for the promo grille. Aside from that minor detail, it's a stunner. -MJS
  15. Super nice build! -MJS
  16. I had to do a few household things during our time out, but with the mercury rising, Arizona model building season (indoor activities) are upon us. The door lock placement has been brought up, and the solution was in a big, little sheet of photo etched washers that I have no idea where I got: I did the doors and the trunk. Since adding the lip made the lock a little too low on the deck lid, it had to be re-centered in the edge. You know what makes me the happiest about these? The fact that I am NOT yet too old to mess with these fiddly little bits. But that 10X visor is a necessity. A quick mockup: Resin Pony wheels are by Casey Littmann, who moonlights here as a mod, tires are the Goodyear GSCs from the Monogram 1994 Cobra pace car kit. The wheels are just a bit big for the tires, but a little stretching makes them fit. Interestingly, these wheels are shown on the instruction sheet of the '90 LX, even though they are not included in the kit. Even more interestingly, the sheet shows the placement of the decals on the center caps of these wheels, they are included on the decal sheet, and they are exactly the right size for the Monogram wheels. -MJS
  17. Ford states that it is 24 pounds heavier. Nevertheless, you're in Canada, where heat from the sun is largely a non-issue; so if you want the glass roof, then by all means get it. -MJS
  18. If you feel that you need to show that you care and that you are responsive, improve the ramp a bit. Take it out and get it truck bed lined to seal it and give it a non slip surface. -MJS
  19. Steel roof coupe for me. Glass is nice, but heavy and hot. Coupes give the best performance, rigidity, and safety in case of a mishap. -MJS
  20. Around here, the lawyers only want vapid, empty-headed smilers who never watch the news, have no idea how the legal system works, or that we had one, and have no opinions about much of anything. Show a little intelligence or an opinion, and you're outta there like a mortar round. Jury of your peers? Only if you've got a skull full of mush, because your jury will too. -MJS
  21. The up-top looks right from every angle, I'd say you nailed it. -MJS
  22. The late '70s; when anything styled like that, shiny jumpsuits, wraparound sun glasses, and big hair was certainly going to be the future. -MJS
  23. The mufflers mirrors look great, Tom. Go with 'em! -MJS
