  1. Correct, 3 different two door closed roof styles, or four if you include the Skyliner retractable hard top. -MJS
  2. The Club Sedan had a longer wheelbase than the Custom, and had a completely different roof line. Why Ford had two different two door post sedans is something of a mystery, but they sure did sell them all. Adding a pillar to the Fairlane 500 would get you much closer to a Club Sedan. The Custom chassis would most likely have to be lengthened to fit the Fairlane body. -MJS
  3. GMG's Apache was nice, except it was three different colors. -MJS
  4. 1963 Chrysler turbine car 1968 Mustang GT fastback 428 Cobra Jet 1969 Camaro R/S SS Indy pace car convertible 396/375 2013 BMW M5 2013 Superduty diesel 4dr 1 ton single - you didn't mention a limit on trailers. Current drivers: '92 LX 5.0 coupe, '07 CVPI
  5. 18 bucks is too much to pay for a master? -MJS
  6. Pep Boys has about a 1/2 Wal Mart selection; Streetburners, a couple of snap kits, and some hokey foam paper "kits". Nothing remarkable. All the glue kits are $19.95. -MJS
  7. I'm on a Mac with Firefox. No problems posting, no SQL errors, but a bit slow; although infrequently. These problems can be a real drag. -MJS
  8. I tried the new version for a couple of days, didn't see much advantage as I don't need the new features it has, so I switched back to the old version. I use Firefox, but when that gets cranky on a web site, I use Chrome on it. -MJS
  9. Very nice, reminds me a lot of a car a friend had in high school, an '80 Olds Omega 2 dr notchback in the same or nearly the same color. Almost the same car, really. His drove nicely, and was actually a good car until he wrecked it a few years later. -MJS
  10. I'll hit one when the price goes down. Maybe two... -MJS
  11. It's great! -MJS
  12. The Model S is the first electric car that is truly compelling to me. All American too, they even mold their own plastic body and interior parts. I don't entirely disagree with this choice. -MJS
  13. Not a surprise, Barris was always a business man first, and a customizer second. He's even taken credit for several cars that he had nothing to do with, when money and/or recognition is involved. -MJS
  14. Wow, never seen such a quality 4-eye collection. Very nice fleet he's got there. -MJS
  15. The original XL fastback was one of the very few AMT kits of that era that had a poorly proportioned body. It's fairly bad, that new 4door is a big improvement. -MJS
  16. I know the thread is old, but Wow, what else can be said; it's among the best in the world of this type of build. -MJS
  17. See the thread on the reissue '66 Mustang in new kit reviews for pics of these tires. Very nice if you ask me, I'd buy a few sets. -MJS
  18. I built the Corvette America as a young guy in the early '80s. It was cool then, and came with a very nice set of wire wheels that eventually went on a JoHan '64 Caddy convertible. -MJS
  19. Against the right background, that would look absolutely real. -MJS
  20. 11 bucks is about what the USPS charges to ship a kit in the states Priority mail, go to their website and enter the box size and weight in the shipping calculator and see what you come up with. You can do the click and ship for Priority on the USPS website and print your own postage, but to get the cheaper parcel post shipping, you have to wait in line at the post office. I don't do that for small, cheap packages, because PO lines are among the most infuriating there are. I do it for big, expensive items because they are significantly cheaper to ship that way. Kit's sometimes don't fit in the flat rate boxes with enough room for good padding, so a bigger box must be used, and they nail you for the shipping cost on your own packaging, even if your box is smaller than the flat rate box. As for ebay, I used to sell like mad there, but I stopped that about 4 years ago when they got crazy with the rules that heavily favored buyers, and screwed sellers in any way they could figure out how to. I could go on and on about how their rules got ever more draconian to the sellers, but I don't feel like working myself up over them and venting to internetland about it. I do buy there, but I took the hint that they don't want small-time sellers any more, and so off I went. -MJS
  21. This is my daily driver... So I imagine I'll reward Revell's excellent choice by going completely insane in the membrane and buying way more than I should. Even if the top of the rear window is a touch too low. This could get spendy. -MJS
  22. They probably can't call them Astros. -MJS
