  1. Super clean build, and quite fortunate that Pegasus made the exact wheels for the replica. That about never happens... -MJS
  2. Sure is nice, and the color is fantastic. -MJS
  3. The '63 Advanced Custom Mercury kits had those taillights as well. -MJS
  4. I don't know of any high end diecast cars ever manufactured in the US, they have been made somewhere else pretty much since the beginning, even the low end toy variety. How much more would it cost to make them here? I think we all know the answer to that, way too much for any meaningful sales. Too many reasons that we are all aware of, so the obvious answer is to find another source of cheap labor and no unions/pensions/401Ks paid holidays etc. to have to worry about - and quit giving China more cash for their already huge war machine. It's the American way. -MJS
  5. Sad, but it sounds like almost exactly what happened to GMP and Biante. It's the cost of doing cheap business with the Chi-coms. -MJS
  6. MPC sorta did a King Cobra kit in '78, but it was obviously an IMSA styled car. This could be where the confusion comes from. Here is one converted from several M-II kits, with lots of scratch building. I don't know who the builder is, but it's spot-on. -MJS
  7. Great fix on the banana bend! -MJS
  8. Great job, love the cleanliness of the build, engine and the seat belts. Only thing that stands out; that car would need a set of long tube headers pretty badly with the iron lung. -MJS
  9. Correct, 3 different two door closed roof styles, or four if you include the Skyliner retractable hard top. -MJS
  10. The Club Sedan had a longer wheelbase than the Custom, and had a completely different roof line. Why Ford had two different two door post sedans is something of a mystery, but they sure did sell them all. Adding a pillar to the Fairlane 500 would get you much closer to a Club Sedan. The Custom chassis would most likely have to be lengthened to fit the Fairlane body. -MJS
  11. GMG's Apache was nice, except it was three different colors. -MJS
  12. 1963 Chrysler turbine car 1968 Mustang GT fastback 428 Cobra Jet 1969 Camaro R/S SS Indy pace car convertible 396/375 2013 BMW M5 2013 Superduty diesel 4dr 1 ton single - you didn't mention a limit on trailers. Current drivers: '92 LX 5.0 coupe, '07 CVPI
  13. 18 bucks is too much to pay for a master? -MJS
  14. Pep Boys has about a 1/2 Wal Mart selection; Streetburners, a couple of snap kits, and some hokey foam paper "kits". Nothing remarkable. All the glue kits are $19.95. -MJS
  15. I'm on a Mac with Firefox. No problems posting, no SQL errors, but a bit slow; although infrequently. These problems can be a real drag. -MJS
  16. I tried the new version for a couple of days, didn't see much advantage as I don't need the new features it has, so I switched back to the old version. I use Firefox, but when that gets cranky on a web site, I use Chrome on it. -MJS
  17. Very nice, reminds me a lot of a car a friend had in high school, an '80 Olds Omega 2 dr notchback in the same or nearly the same color. Almost the same car, really. His drove nicely, and was actually a good car until he wrecked it a few years later. -MJS
  18. I'll hit one when the price goes down. Maybe two... -MJS
  19. It's great! -MJS
  20. The Model S is the first electric car that is truly compelling to me. All American too, they even mold their own plastic body and interior parts. I don't entirely disagree with this choice. -MJS
  21. Not a surprise, Barris was always a business man first, and a customizer second. He's even taken credit for several cars that he had nothing to do with, when money and/or recognition is involved. -MJS
  22. Wow, never seen such a quality 4-eye collection. Very nice fleet he's got there. -MJS
