watchin on the news this mornin, their sayin D.C. an surrounding states gonna get up to a foot anna half of snow! Chicago too! We ain't gettin a SNOWFLAKE! It's just cold. It's 19 out an they're talkin about an ice show in one of these cities around here. That'll be the only snow flyin around here,thank God!!! Hope ya'll water gettin snowed on make out ok!

Wat scale is that rascal,Harry? I looked thru the windsheild an you could see the trim on the rear C-Pillars. Looked to real to me a small scale model. an I don't know of any large scale ones of that particular car, so is it like a 1/8th or larger scale?

About 5 years ago I tore up my right rotator cup in my shoulder, an couldn't start my lawnmower OR snowblower. So I went out an bought electric start ones. The Mowers EASY to start WITHOUT the starter, it's a one pull, But the starter on my snowblower is a GODsend!!! That bad boy( I call it BIG Red) puts the FEAR in that snow! I ACTUALLY see it TREMBLIN when I come at it! 7 H.P., 30 inch track, Throws snow al good 15/20 feet! Ugh Ugh Ugh, MORE POWER!!!!!! Cumon you punk snow! Cum an meet my liddo fren!!!!!

Capt'n I bought that Candy Blue Stinkray with my OWN paper route money. That bad boy cost me a WHOLE 80.00 bucks in the summer of 68! I was 15 and my dad took me to Al Petries Bike Shop on Fort Street in Lincoln Park. (It's STILL there too!). He TRIED to talk me into a Huffy, "It's the SAME bike Mijo" (mexican for son)he would say, But NOPE Pop, I LOVES ya an think the WORLD of your advice,BUT, I GOTTA have me a SCHWINN Stingray!!! High School was FUN! Our Auto shop teacher,Mr, Cornelius Armstrong, had a brother who was a Doctor. HE would let us to minor maintenance work on his TWO Ex-Lemans Porsche 917's!!! You know, Change the Brakes, Rotors,Bearings an all, Change the Oil, (First time I saw a REAL Porsche Boxer type engine) and we got to ride in it at lunchtime! I was his student aide for 2 hours, PLUS had 2 hours of auto shop in my last 2 years of High school! Those were GREAT times. They ONLY come once Nick, Enjoy the Heck outta them!!!

Ed, Carl's right, the kids these days only know Stop an Shop types of gas stations. The cool Castle lookin or the neet Old Cottage types are just consigned to our memories. that's why your stations mean ALOT to us old farts! i remember days ridin up to them an puttin air in the rear slick of my Schwinn Stingray, WITH metalflake bannana seat! Buyin a 8.oz Coke for a dime! Or goin to the dimestore an gettin an AMT model for 1.02 with lawnmowin money!

There is something to be said for the ritual of initially 'grocking' a newly opened kit. The sites, smells, sounds, looking for potential, ooh and aahs as you examine the parts, the potential, see the model going together in your mind's eye...I have numerous unbuilt kits that have been grocked and have yet to see glue or paint. I AM Canadian.

Marty, It's a VERY old Revell release from the late 50's. I has a MULTI-Peice body and it IS a bear to assemble properly. It CAN be done mind you, but not without a few superlatives thrown in for good measure. I have seen some built up VERY nicely, but not many. If you take your time,and fix the bad spots, it'll be a good looker when your done.

It's an early Hemi, a 392 I THINK. That's why the Dizzies in the back. The wires feed into the plugs from the top of the valve covers,just like a newer Hemi. They feed into a loom at the rear of the valve cover, and are covered by their own cover. Does that make sense?

Actually, that's an FE block(look at where the head is part of the intake manifold) But that's OK caz it's just a plastic engine anyway! Aren't Model Cars GREAT!!!!

The MPC kit is 1/27th scale, or so I've been told. I have the 69 and 70 AMT mustangs (from those days) and the MPC kit IS VISIBLY smaller than the original AMT kits. But the hubcaps in it are ok.
