  1. THANKS guys!!! This is EXACTLY what I wanted to know! Yeah, I NEVER buy kits at Micheal's WITHOUT a coupon! Guess I'm just gettin cheaper as I get older! Just can't see payin 24.95 for a kit! HL JUST opened Friday of last week, an I didn't wanna get swamped on the FIRST day! Hopefully it won't be as crazy during the next week. I SURE HOPE it won't put our local handy dandy hobby shop out of buisness!!!
  2. Yeah, that's what I was thinkin. They don't OWN the name Roadrunner, but I guess they DO own the little cartoon picture. I mean, it WAS their artists that created the cartoon AND the little bird character. Didn't the air cleaner or air grabber set-up on Road Runners have a decal that read "Cyote Duster" of something like that on it? Is THAT on the decal sheet? If they can't put the lil bird, i doubt they could put a likeness of Wiley on it either!
  3. Guys, I guess the Downriver area's FINALLY gettin their own HL store! It's only about a mile from our ONLY other Hobby shop, Down River Hobbies(formerly Riders). How do they work, do they accept others coupons? like Micheal's accepts JoAnn's Fabrics coupons? They had a 30% off coupon in Sunday's Free Press, but ONLY on stuff not on sale, but THE WHOLE store's stuff was on sale, so it seemed kinda pointless. Do they post coupons in the papers? Do they have in store sales? You know, not in the paper, but you gotta GO there to find them? What is their usual discount on models? I've never been to one,the closest I've heard of is one in Toledo, about an hour away. What the story on 'em guys???
  4. Hey, if your gonna do it, do it RIGHT the FIRST time,or be prepared to do it over again! The RIGHT way!!!
  5. Was the yellow one in the picture ever in it (the TV show) I never watched it, and I've NEVER seen that stripe set-up on ANY Road Runner. Was in a different option than the Strobe stripe?
  6. That's funny you should mention that too Ken. Maybe it has something to do with an actual picture of THEIR characterization of the lil RR. Maybe they own the PICTURE,and NOT the general name of RR?
  7. That is just a BEAUTIFUL build! One of my favorite cars(i had a Deluxe as my 1st car) A GREAT color for it too. Just such a NICE lookin build!!!! Can i have it???
  8. Actually LOOKS like a Caddy hearse! 2.52 seconds, that's pretty quick for a Caddy!!!!!
  9. BWAAHHHAAAAAHAAAAA, You WILL be sorry! Oh ye of little faith!!!!
  10. Doug, I like the color! real nice! One thing though, that'not a Vicky. It's a sedan. A Victoria has a bustle on the back of it. The rear of the body is flaired OUT at the bottom. But it still came out good anyway. You can use Elmers white glue to install your glass if you let it get tacky first. I dries clear so you wont' see it after it dries!
  11. Jon,waz wrong witha MAYTAG? We've had a Maytag Washer Dryer combo for YEARS! (about 30) only thing we've replaced are Dryer belts,an a wash timer! I'd like ta see ANY foriegn car, or ANY car for that matter, have a track record like that!
  12. I think that might be closer to the truth, Ol Warner Bros. probly wanted a mint ta let ONE lil ol model company use the Road Runner! I think Chrysler was payin just pennies per car, while MPC woulda probly had to pay some flat out excorberante fee just for a lil bird that woulda been only what, an 1/8th of an inch tall?
  13. Yeah, it DOES look like a model, but I can't see someone ACTUALLY ON PURPOSE buildin something THIS ugly, so I'm goun with REAL!
  14. Ok, So what if it IS MLK day, YOU takein it off??? We're waitin Daddy-O, Wat It gon be like Kahuna??? Hit us Harry, HIT US!!! inquiering Doggies NEED ta know!!!!WOOF!!!
  15. Brett, I THINK your kinda confused all right. First, Resin casters, USUALLY cast WHOLE Trans-Kits, or, like a body with most parts to complete a kit, useing ANOTHER model kit for finishing it. Some, like Modelhaus, or Motor City Resins, cast WHOLE kits of NOT produced models, that can be assembled right from their kit alone, then, some casters just cast PARTS that you can use to add on to YOUR model kit. Resin casters come in all shapes and sizes. Modelhaus does all three, Motor City just sells whole kits, and Ma's resins sells PARTS. The best way to find out who does what is to just find their websites an check them out. There's ALOT of QUALITY casters out there, quite a few of them ARE our forum brothers. Just ask around, cause there's some crummy ones out there too! Hope this DOESN'T get you even more confused!!!
  16. Actually, i just scrub mine down real good with some "Simple Green" an a medium stiff toothbrush.
  17. Breck, you sure HAVE been away for a LONG time, Them MOTACYCLES!Bro!!!!! Jus messin wif ya man! Welcome to the forum, we gots ALL kindsa modelers here, New,Old an inbetweens! By all means, post yer rides when ya get em finished!!!
  18. OUTSTANDING,Benjamin!!! But as Dave correctly stated, NOW the REALLY hard part starts! Just have faith in yourself, give EVERYTHING you do your BEST shot, learn FROM your mistakes, and remember that you'll see alot of setbacks before you get your shot,BUT when it comes,GO FOR IT!!! GOOD LUCK Benjamin!
  19. GREAT build,Gonz, but personally, an this IS just ME, I kinda think it sits just a smidge too high. I do remember these things were pretty heavy an they tended to sit a bit lower than how it looks. But it sure DOESN'T take away ANYTHING from your work! GREAT build!
  20. YOU guys belong in our club, YER ALL nuts!!!! Thanks for postin the pics Pat!
  21. Ambroid is some of the BEST glue around! It's ALL i use. don't realy like Tenax(it dries TOO fast!) But Zoom is right, it's ONLY for plastic to plastic BEFORE you paint. I've never used it on PE to plastic or anything else BUT plastic. Just use it spareingly unless you REALLY want a mess. I've used it with the brush, or the long tube thingie the does the pin point applications. Works great for me, I've NEVER had trouble with it.
  22. Pat, I am NOT payin fer that CAMERA!!!!! You took it at YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!
  23. To be honest with you, I'm PRETTY sure you COULD mount Ford wheels on a Mopar back then ( I think the bolt pattern was the same) so use Ford wheels on one wouldn't be that far off.
  24. Well fella's our brutha frum anutha mutha is have his 19th B'day taday, so let's give 'im a GREAT MCM greetin, HAPPY BIRFDAY NICK!!!!!! Oh, an Nick, I TRIED ta keep this personal by PM'n you, but yer personal file is FULL i think. Empty that rascal, so, I DON'T gotta call yer butt out like this!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK!!!
  25. Thanks Dave, I quit years ago after a bad expierience at the Toledo NNL! Guys were actually GRABBIN stuff outta my HANDS! Yeesh, it's just PLASTIC guys, NOT money! So I quit goin.
