george 53 replied to RodBurNeR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The loss of ones mate is ALWAYS devistating, the only consolation being that they are with Almighty God, and at peace. My deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Gassway family, May God keep you strong in this time of grief, and rest well in the knowledge that you will one day be together forever. God Bless you and your family. -

John, Well thats good advice, and I'll use it for sure. BUT, now I don't have to pay some ridiculous price for a 35 year old kit. I'll just wait for Revell to pop it and I'll have me a brandy NEW one for peanuts, compared to what I COULDA paid!! -
Lyle, you had this bad boy at Toledo, din'tcha? Was yours a resin, or the original master? Either way, It's too cool!I got the feelin Norm will be poppin a FEW of these rascals!!!

How cum the Japs are usin cartoonists to style there cars? They ALL seem to look like they're Transformers or somethin. The bikes have that Japanese Animay look to them, I just saw a commercial for the o9 Accura and it doesn't have any style to it either. In fact, ALL Jap, Korean cars are lookin EXACTLY the same to me. But then again, I am a born in the wool Hot Rodder/ Muscle car Freak!.

Guys, are all those cop cars 1/24th? I have2 Lindburg Ford cop cars but those are 1/25th. It seems the size difference would be TOO noticable in a jellybean shaped car like the Charger. Not that the Ford isn't, but I think the scale difference would be very noticable. But I am a 24th scale bigot. It may be cool in other country's, but I was raised on 25thscale, and it's my favorite, except in aircraft, cause all I can find is 24th scale.

Thats for sure! I myself would like to try out that "Rommels Rod" But by time I wanted to, It had been out of production for Quite some time(years) When I did find one on the bay, the foo was askin 200.00 bucks! Man I'm glad to see it come back, and I hope the greedy suckers who have original kits and are scalpin folks choke on 'em! -
Hey, Daddy-O, just go ahead and subscribe. You won't be sorry, Just ask anyone who has,an they'll tell you it's a better Mag than SA. I subscribe to both and to be honest with you, MCM is the BETTER of the 2. SA only publishes 6 times a year, For 25 bucks, We get MCM 9 times a year for 30. 3 more issues for only 5 bucks? I'll take the 9 issues thank you. Besides, you can say you actually have a editor who can relate to. Not like that other guy who is too busy to talk to his subscribers. I found this out at Toledo.

Jurg, I just noticed the salt crud on the rear fenders of the truck and trailer! The details are too much ,man. This project is comin out TOO COOL! GREAT BUILD! Now, finish up that lil 32 up an lets see the whole kittankaboodle!!!

What da heck Dave , go ahead an TRY ta build em all. It couldn't hurt.Besides, your mistakes are cooler than most guys purpose built stuff. Like we've been told, "you can't take it with you" so go ahead an give as many as you can a purpose for bein made! -
What a nice build of a funny lookin lil car! I remember these from the old Superman TV show. Supe's detective freind AND Lois Lane drove one. I always wondered how they changed the front tires, but I guess when Superman is your buddy, you don't worry too much about changein flats!

408, maybe if ya did the chassis in a nice contrasting color, like a nice Root Beer brown, or somethin like that, it would help? You could really do some nice detail painting or somethin that would still make the chassis "pop" without the need for chrome.Just an idea, but whatever you do, that lil truck is gonna be a killer!!!

Well, fellas, I wentan dun it, an joined the Downriver Model Car Club. What a great bunch of guys! Every one treated me like I had been there for years, and was just another member of the family. I also met Larry Alexander of the Alexander Bros. Customs. What a neat guy! he's 77 years old an sharp as a tack! he had a bunch of cool stories to tell me too. It was great. I'm just gettin to know the guys, so I know it's gonna be a fun ride! Just wish I'd done it sooner! Hopefully next month I'll get to meet some of the fellas I din't get to meet tonite, Including Pat Redmon. If any of you guys have a chance to join a club, DO IT!. The commaradery is just too much to pass up, an you'll have freinds to build with, and enjoy their company. It was great! Can't wait till next month!
