  1. Some mock up shots. The color for the body. It's a base of acrylic with nail polish pearl over it. Once the polish gases out I'll clear it with urethane.
  2. Not with Cool Willy behind the wheel.
  3. The frame is just about done, A little more work on the front suspension, brake, gas and air lines should button it up.
  4. Those watch parts are very cool. You've got some really nice work going on in this build.
  5. I realized I screwed up the color scheme with the dash and needed a fix. Flocked the rear half, not real happy with it, I'll touch up some spots after it dries. It should look good with the amps and subs. I guess I should make/find a head unit for it.
  6. Here's a rough idea of the interior colors. The turquoise is darker and the tan is more of a light buckskin than what appears in the pic. I've got flocking that is a dead on match for the turquoise to use for the carpeting. The floor and rear wheel houses need one more coat before the flocking goes down.
  7. It's the corners that suck. I did learn you can get into the corners with a scribing tool. You lay it on the side and it cuts halfway decent, but still a pain.
  8. This needs to be on an episode of Futurama!
  9. I have two specific problems with cementing parts that I hope I can get help with. I normally use straight MEK for cementing. I also have Plastruct Bondene for things I need to set faster, both have the same problems. I have no luck cementing Plastuct Styrene, it might hold but there is no strength whatsoever. and usually it winds up breaking off. I have even sanded it first in case there was a release agent or something preventing the bond. My second problem is with small diameter rod and half round from Evergreen. This problem is when I try to cement a tight curve the styrene will just snap when the cement is applied. Any suggestions on either problem?
  10. I've got the first round of filler done on the doors. It looks pretty good, but sanding these things are a royal PITA. Most of the front suspension pieces are painted and ready for final assembly.
  11. Is it the monogram kit? I'd love to have a pic of a box stock engine.
  12. Hey, I think I've had a run in with this fella before. And come to think of it, he was driving a bright green thing then too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I said the shipment came in, not the fab shop finished the install. Not all subs need to be airtight, free-air and ported subs aren't sealed. Moving along, the amps and subs are painted, the box and cap are just about ready for primer and bodywork.
  14. Is there an online pricing guide for car models that anyone knows of?
  15. A shipment from the audio store arrived in the mail today.
  16. It's looking great Pat, the styling and execution are top notch. I've noticed one thing about the MM, no matter how much you try to figure out a different color for it, red always comes back to mind. I triple dog dare ya to paint it blue!
  17. From a local flea market. I haven't checked, but they're all supposed to be complete.
  18. I remembered to bring home some clear, the frame, rear and driveshaft are all a very shiny blue pearl. A better shot of the color, it's hard to get a good pic of it. I've got the back hinged. You can see I've started on the door panels too.
  19. I've got the base and midcoat on the frame, driveshaft, and rear, Unfortunately I ran out of clear, I'll bring some home and clear it tomorrow night.
  20. It's Alclad over a gloss black enamel.
  21. The engine and transmission are painted and assembled. Other than a little touch up, throttle and clutch linkage they are done. I think it's a pretty cool looking engine. The block is an aluminum silver, then I added some satin black to the same silver for the transmission color and all of the bolts on the block. I gave the tranny a black wash, but left the engine bare, the sheen from the silver gives all the detail needed. I had to fight the urge to do all the accessories in red for contrast, instead I did them all in Alclad. the only color is the red of the magneto and the turquoise of the wires. If you notice, I did find a way to mount an alternator. It looks like the drive for the mag comes around from the side of the block, I added a housing that would hold two gears, one from the mag and one on the alternator. It might not be realistic , but it makes sense to me that it would work.
  22. I'll either scratch build them or steal them from the 39 Wagon Rod.
  23. Other than plug wires I think there is enough detail in the engine now. What do you think?
