  1. With the engine at the height it is now, everything fits like a glove,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so far. I'm probably going to raise the engine about an1/8" and get the body lower.
  2. I've got the motor mounts in place. This is as low as I can get, the engine's sitting on the ground. You know I love LOW. I will have to see if I can raise the engine without creating havoc with the interior.
  3. I got the Allison from ebay a while back. I really don't know squat about Allison engines, as a kid I remember an old White cabover drag truck that had an Allison engine in it. I thought that was the coolest looking thing in the world! If anyone has a reference photo's or a good knowledge of these engines, I could really use some help detailing this thing. Cleaning up the frame a bit. I cut off the back of the stock frame after the glue on the new rails dried. I also cut off the extensions where the cab mounts were. I'll wait until I have the suspension mount in to cut the rest of the floor pan out, it's adding strength to it for now. I also guessed at the length of the frame, there's a good chance I'll be shortening it a bit. Unless I build a sleeper for it. : ;D This is the trailer the Deora will be pulling, http://www.modelcars...l=&fromsearch=1 And this is the cargo, http://www.modelcars...l=&fromsearch=1
  4. I think it's going to be a bit longer than I thought, but that Allison engine is pretty big! Starting on the rear frame rails,
  5. If it'll fit,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  6. Thanks everyone. I cut the floor out of the interior tub and added 1/4" to match the body. I also cut out the doghouse as I don't know how much room I'm going to need for the engine. I plan a considerable increase in HP for this hauler. I won't be gluing the floor back right now, it will be much easier to finish it up to primer before making it permanent. It fits very well.
  7. Couldn't you make a sleeve that fits inside the tire, cut wider than the tire, to stretch it?
  8. I've had this idea bouncing around in my head for about a year, a Deora Cabover as a hauler. I started with a gluebomb and lopped it off at the base of the back window. Then using the remaining side pieces, I made the rear wall of the cab. In the below pic, you can see I've already widened the wheelwell. Widening the other side, cut out the rear half of the wheelwell. I forgot to take a pic of the next cut. It's cut vertically at the point where the wheel arch meets the bottom of the body. that is the filler to widen the wheelwell. Just move it from the back, to the middle. You can see the cut lines laid out in the 1st and 3rd pics. Now I wanted to add to the body, it might work as a showcar, but as a hauler, you want a bit more room. a 1/4" was added along the bottom of the body. A mock up pic, the frame will need to be narrowed. I also don't know if a set of Pro-Street tires or Duallies would look better. I made a hinge to tilt the cab. Tilted
  9. I ordered some clear doll eyes from ebay for the skull. The eyes, A quick mount, Now he can see where he's going.
  10. And another variation, this will be my next Deora build.
  11. Thanks. Here's the build. http://coffincorner.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=wip&action=display&thread=16887
  12. Hurry up and get those tailights and grille in this thing, I can't wait to see it finished! Then get yer butt back to work on the Cordvette, it's too wild looking to be sitting in a box or on the shelf. The Ramchero is looking fantastic.
  13. Into the body shop. In primer, As the rivets on the plane parts seemed out of scale for this build, I sanded them all off. Now it was time to add them back, but of course in an exaggerated size.
  14. Adding a little color to the engine and frame.
  15. Both arms needed to have the joints at the shoulder and elbow redone. I also had to modify both hands to fit the bars and shifter. I also mad a bunch of spikes, half for Davey and half to sacrifice to the plastic trolls that live under my desk and steal every important part that falls down there.
  16. I made a functional hood. A shot with it open. Cleaned up the opening for the exhaust. You can also see the first clear wheel is almost done. I also made a sight for in front of the canopy.
  17. Great Idea using the felt for the inside of the mouth. Is Don venomous?
  18. I made a suicide shifter with a piston knob, finished the sprockets and chain, hand controls, and added the custom intake that goes through the tank up to two T'rantula scoops. The front tire is stock, I made new spokes to match the back wheel. The headlight is also stock.
  19. Back on the bike! Checking to see what modifications will be needed to get the hands in the proper positions.
  20. I promised the Junkman I would "Purty him up a bit", so off to the dentist. Step one, make a pattern of the mouth opening, Step two, draw the teeth, Step three, Cut the teeth Step four, Glue the gum side of each tooth to 1/16" rod. This allows you to mount the teeth in rows, upper and lower. It also allows for flex to match the curves of the mouth opening. The top row is done. Step 5, glue them to the skull, Step six, add a tongue. See Junkman, you're a handsome devil after all. Just playin' Davey decided to steal Diggers rod for the night. But in his heart, he's a biker and the cage will be replaced by his trusty scoot.
