  1. Here is the Mobius kit http://www.modelcars.com/moebius-53-trailer-with-reefer-option.html Another kit to consider is/are one of the AMT race hauler kits. They come race ready with internal components, have the "low boy" stance and the sides are cut out for the tandems. Three versions that I am aware of, Gallee/Kraco Indycar, Coors NASCAR and Kodak NASCAR. I have all three and can shoot some parts pics if you like. They are not hard to get and at or below the Mobius kits. Here are a pair available from a seller with a excellent reputation http://public.fotki.com/Goodguyinar416/nascar-model-kits/nascar-race-car-haulers.html
  2. Stumbled across this this morning http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/upload2/5005233-tvtommy.jpg
  3. That's not a bad idea. You would have plenty of material to work work with and easier to remove excess than to add
  4. I follow that, but the idea is the same, using a trailer from Galaxie Limited as a start point for the box
  5. In follow up to my last post. Take a Galaxie kit and approach it like we are channeling a car body (still dod the horizontal strips too). Basically split the box sides horizontally; scratch build in the vertical post; use material chopped out to build in the front of the box?
  6. Some additional thoughts after studying this pic. Using the same half round strips to simulate the corregated sides, what if we take a trailer kit from Galaxie Limited as a base. Then make modifications from there? Would be sturdier as a start point, would come with the back gate, easy to get various versions from them direct, ebay or other suppliers http://galaxielimited.com/trailers.htm http://www.modelroundup.com/v/vspfiles/photos/Galaxy-T-38-2T.jpg http://www.ebay.com/itm/Galaxie-21-Foot-Tag-Along-Trailer-Kit-1-24-or-1-25-scale-HOBBY-TIME-MODEL-SHOP-/221456389324?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item338fd454cc#ht_739wt_662
  7. What about scratch building the front and sides of the main "box" using sheet styrene. Fashion the main shape. Then add horizontal half round Plastruct or Evergreen styrene rod, appropriately spaced. Then measure, mark up and scribe out the openings. Add in clear acetate or sheet then for the "glass"
  8. Looking great, love the progress shots
  9. Great work so far, especially on the left front headlught area. Really does make a difference!
  10. Beautiful! Gotta get my resin hauler chassis out and get toi it!
  11. I agree. Builds like these inspire me to stretch my comfort zone and try increasingly challenging builds
  12. Here is the final on this .. ..
  13. Thanks for the pics John. Been scouring the net this morning for Westinghouse J34 pics. Want to do the Ivo Rislone Jet dragster, and maybe Shockley's Shockwaves. Any WIP pics?
