  1. Started with this kit. and built it to look like this, The radio antenna was made from the C.B. antenna. Bare metal foil was used on the insides of the tail lights. I also painted the rims white and shaved the back of the grill down to remove the back of the openings so they would be open
  2. It was the NEW kit.
  3. The kit I seen the Batman and robin figures are indeed already painted I almost bout one.
  4. If a stock hood of a 66 tempest were made it would have been a Tempest wagon ( as it shared the basic body of the chevelle wagons
  5. The front suspension didn't go right when it was built. And so I decided rather than scraping it for parts that the 60 impala would have been wrecked instead. did a search on wrecked 60 impala's found one that closely looked like the damage that would be done to this kit.
  6. Made from a 66 GTO and the 66 Chevelle Wagon kit
  7. Yes I bought a lot of them.
  8. Hood, rims and motor from a 66 El camino kit. painted with GM automotive paint.
  9. Rember when you drove your Dad's car then this happened? When it happened to me, the car I was driving My Dad's car was a 78 Caprice Classic 2dr. I'd just about got across the street when I was hit on the passenger rear Quarter panel . comments on the model and If you wrecked your dad's car are welcome
  10. I just seen one on the September 2, 2014. round 2 release date September 2014.
  11. Just starting this build. First thing to be done The grill. Before and after
  12. I just added this blade from the revel GMC pickup kit to a scoutII, If you look closer at the grill it's close to a 74/75 grill. something I did to it to change model year's as the scout body never changed from 71-80. BTW my Uncle worked at Harvester's Scout Factory in FT. Wayne Indiana.
  13. It's funny that no one mentioned that under the hood is two batteries, As far as I rember Gasoline engines only need one.
  14. Yep, it can be hard to change a race car but , It's easier to do to a early to mid 70's then 79 up. I plan on building a second one but paint the body this time. This first one is blue because I liked the shade of blue it was in.
  15. thank's for all the kind comments
  16. I know what you mean, I wished they would have made the Scout Traveler as well. An 1980 scout is a easy conversion to do by just changing the grill and the head lights. Ertl did have several scout kits out which included Super scout , off road, and ralley. The topless door less one was the super scout, a rear kit indeed to find.
  17. Seen a real one this color parked in someones drive way Around Lima Ohio. love that turquoise and white paint style. BTW I bought the kit from Wal-Mart online for a total cost of $16.38! shipped free to my local wally world.
  18. Kit bashed with 2 other kits, 77 Monte carlo, and a 70 Chevelle.
  19. Yes It's ertl's simple kit but with a few extra parts under the hood helps. Here are two more scout's First is a 1980 which was the last year of production and the second is a scout terra pickup, Maybe ertl could have produced both?
  20. I just cashed in a gift card at Wal- Mart.Com had will have a New 60 impala kit at my local store for me to pickup on the 27 th of august. Total cost ? a whopping $16.38!
  21. Quick silver/ Bad actor Johan Ambulance Revell' s 53/54 SMP 60 impala wagon Revell's 66 chevelle wagon
  22. picture search shows the 283 as either red or orange as Chevy may have had a mid year engine color change. But then again in factory photo's in 1959 you will see a lot of the v-8's red and the six cly in a blue paint. The 57 Convertible that I'm building will have the engine in red. Although it seem's to me that any of those three colors would be correct. As it will be up to the builder on the choice of engine color.
