  1. Yes, in addition to Fords I am also a Pontiac guy too. I have owned this one since new. It was ordered on Dec 29, 1976 and took delivery on March 18, 1977. This is an original 11,000 miles unrestored factory original including factory applied lacquer paint and tires. The car was ordered with the optional W72 400 cu.in. engine and is a factory aluminum wheel car. Thought you might like to see what a new, original 1977 Trans Am looks like. 2013 World of Wheels Best in Class Winner. Will be at the 2018 World of Wheels Omaha, NE in March
  2. Ben, I have cut away some of the center section of the seat and will use half round Plastruct styrene plastic to create the pattern Vinnie....close up photos show that the top is vinyl
  3. Steve, I plan on using the vinyl roof material from Model Car Garage. This is the same material that I used to replicate the rubber mat on my 1963 lightweight Galaxie

  7. Actually the color is Code T which in 1963 was SandShell Beige. I had MCW custom mix this color in spray.

  11. Here is mine Super Stock 406 that will go into Dick Brannan's # 717 1962 Galaxie. I had my 406 decals along with the Rotunda oil filter decals custom made. This engine still needs details added. The engine in the 1960 Starliner makes into nice looking engines that represent the 352, 406 and 427 very well.
  12. The interior seats used in this truck were bucket seats from the 1963 Falcon. To replicate the look of the seat I am starting with the bucket seats from the 1963 Fairlane. From there I am changing the pattern to better represent the correct look of the seats. I will nee to make the ribbing more narrow. This is a mock up and not a finished product as I will need to add piping around the scratch built center section.

  14. Glad to help. Just file a little at a time, keep test fitting until it fits properly and you will be fine. My next '63 lightweight that I am working on will have more detail than the this one. I learned with this one and what to improve upon......as they say the next one is better than the last
  15. Hi Frank, Since that photo was taken I started using the 1960 Starliner floor pan and chassis with some modifications. Those floor pans are from the MCW resin kit. Basically I shorten the ends of the chassis (bumper attachments) also I has to file the rear quarter sides of the floor pan as it is too wide. I took off a little at a time, test fitting until I got the results I was looking for. The gas tank is in the original location no modification. You will also need to modify the transmission hump so that the interior tub sets flush. I use the lightweight interior from MCW for my 1963 lightweights. The MCW interior tub will also work in a 1964 lightweight. I also had to filed the bottom of the interior tub transmission hump. If you do not do this the two will not set correctly. I will also use the 1960 Starliner chassis and floor pan on my '62's

  20. In addition to Les Ritchey's '63 lightweight Super Stock Galaxie, I will be building this one along side. Dearborn Steel Tubing (DST) built this really cool truck for B/FX competition. It was powered by the same Super Stock 427 cu.in. 425 HP engine that powered the lightweight Galaxie's. This is the only one know to exist. This build will be somewhat challenging as it will require some scratch building and kit bashing to get the details as accurate as possible. Challenging - yes, doable - you bet! This one is going to be fun! This will not be a fast build and will update as I get areas completed. Stay Tuned.

  22. Since building my first '63 lightweight Galaxie, Brannan's car, I learned a lot about how I would improve upon my next build. With that said, I have started another 1963 lightweight Galaxie. This one will be Les Ritchey's Viking Blue/Beige interior car. I figured this time I would put more detail into the engine, specifically the intake and carb areas. So I ordered resin carburetors, Holley 4160 from Fireball Modelworks. These carburetors have excellent detail and really make the engine look real. I highly recommend them. I have added addition detail making the intake and carb as close to factory correct as I can. Here is a photo of the 427 425HP engine as I am prepping the ignition wires per correct firing order. A sharp eye will see the correct red oil filter with accurate Rotunda decal. Thanks Alan! They are the finishing touches on the engine detail. Additionally, the under hood detail shows a rough surface to simulate the unfinished fiberglass look I will be adding to this topic as the build goes along. Enjoy and thanks for looking.....John
  23. Been away from working on this one for awhile. Prepping the engine for the ignition wires which will be routed per correct firing order for the 427 engine. A second engine identical to this one will be built for the 1963 Ford F-100 XL.
