  1. Thanks guys, Rom as Dave mentioned there are other companies out there that make lifts and I believe that one of them was made by race car builder Jerry Bickel...I don't remember the name though.
  2. Nice work Tyrone....I like the black wheels.
  3. Very convincing....Nice work on all but I really like the dio bases.
  4. John there aren't many people in any venue that have the creative ability and skills that you have. Always a pleasure to see your work!
  5. That is very clean and nicely detailed.Good job on it!
  6. Rom they're called Pro Jack stands and you can find info on their web site like the ones I did from round tube plastic.
  7. It all looks outstanding Tyrone....Nice work!
  8. Super clean and lots of great details....Keep at it!
  9. Super nice detail work!
  10. I have to say......This is looking real nice! Keep at it Rom...
  11. I agree as most all others do...That just placing a figure in a dio just for the sake of having a figure in the dio is not worth it..The figure has to help tell the story as to what is going on in the scene..Thanks!
  12. Thats really nice...Looks like my grand pa's old barn in North Carolina...Good job!
  13. This is a very impressive piece. I truly enjoy the well used look in any diorama and you've captured it very well here. Well done!
  14. Here I am with a couple of lovelys and my Chevy II in the not so distant past.
  15. Details look fantastic! Keep at it.
  16. Good stuff Brad....I like your detail work!
  17. Great pics fellas.....Some great ideas can surely be gathered here. I remember Ken's article Doc...Good stuff!
  18. Thanks Tony, I got my lamp at Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon. It swivels and has a 3x magnification. Its been great for detail painting small parts....Helps the eyes also! You can find them on Ebay as well at various prices.
  19. A few more shots where I have used figures. I guess....Looking through my Photobucket albums that I have used my fair share of figures over the years. I had forgotten about some of them. As some of you know, most of my subjects are drag racing related.
  20. Great pics guys....Great dio Brad and the office girl is fantastic. Tony mentioned in an earlier post about painting figures and that seems to be a point where lots of builders get hung up. It is hard to paint facial features with out proper magnification like a magnifying lamp. I recently purchased one and I truly don't know how I have managed all these years without one. It has helped me have more detailing ability in small painting areas (like faces) and other ways as well.
  21. Thanks for the comments and looking in guys!
  22. This is one that I put together out of the parts box with the frame and body from an old Wild Willie kit and everthing else just pieced together.
  23. Wonderful pics fellas....In all the pics listed the figures do help tell the story. Sam your diner dio could pass as a picture of a real place on a sunny afternoon and placing the figs in the shadows is a nice idea.
  24. Rom here is a pit scene I did about 5 years ago. Its 1/24 but many things can be scratchbuilt for 1/16 or larger scales like battery chargers etc.. I scratched out the Pro Jack stands from round tube from pics I found on the internet. There are 1/18 tools available that would work for 1/16.
  25. Here is a hot rod garage I did a few years ago.
