  1. I Like that Place too!!! I have heard of them before, I see ads for them frequently. A Friend sold them his 55 Olds!! I LOVE the Mayberry 62 Custom! And the 70's Ford Black & White too. Is that one marks "Wilmington"? Wonder which department the Diplomat is suppose to be from
  2. This should qualify as a Kitbash. AMT Modern Tool 58 Edsel Pacer and Rev 57 Ford Ranchero;
  3. Looks nice. I have one to restore too. Had a Promo, but Wesley's strip tank damaged her terribly! Softened-Rubberized the body, and Shrunk the convertible boot cover to almost the size of one in 1/48 scale!! curved it like a banana too!! Got the Kit to replace it, but missing many parts. And How did you get so lucky to get the complete rear bumper?? Both the promo & built kit had the upper points broken off!! I was looking at using the Lindberg 61 IMpala Frame & windshield on the promo till the strip tank disaster. Now looking at the AMT 62 Impala set for the kit. I prefer the Hubcaps from the promo over the 8-lugs myself. Managed to get a set too. Now just to get the other parts, and Maybe I can do half the job you did!!
  4. I guess when I said BMF, I should have said the Flat Aluminum, then asked how best to tint over that to get the correct Stainless color?!? Sanding the BMF??? Maybe buff it with an Ink Eraser, but, i would Not even try 1000 grit Sand paper on it knowing how thin it is and how easily it tears! To me, Paint would just look like Paint! The top os Bare Stainless. How would I duplicate the Grain of the Bare metal with Paint?!!! That is why I was thinking Start with (Flat Aluminum) BMF it Already Has the grain effect, but is too like in color. Too bad no one makes Stainless foil!!!
  5. 2 part Epoxy or Super Glue ONLY on Resin!!!! Model Cement will Not work!!!!!! And Yes I have worked with resin. Old Wheat's Nostalgia 58 Edsel Pacer kit was my First. I have some of Bob Swartz Model Cars And Parts pieces. I lent him both my PMC 59 Ford Ranchero & Country Sedan Wagon bodies for casting. I got a couple of the first pours of both. Also have one of JR Heyer's 58 Edsel Bermuda's I am building as a Villager. I got an extra roof too. Neither of these 3 are still casting, though I think Joe Wheat is still selling his "Promo"type builds as well as original Promos too.
  6. She IS Beautiful. But, Is she a Futura? I thought Lincoln Only used that name on the Show car that became theBatmobile. I believe that is a Premier. That was a Name they used on Production cars.
  7. All new tooling one piece body when issued. Later converted to the 59. The Multi-piece bodied kit is an originally tooled 59 that has been called a 60 in every issue I have seen.
  8. Looks like paint. The Oil fill cap looks like bare metal. so does the rocker cover.
  9. Just to remember it is an Original tooling from 1970. first issued as a Promo, then Curbside 70 Kit. It was updated to 71 Spec's and got an engine. I have a couple, but have not started one yet. Chassis detail ins mostly molded on. Solid metal axles front I rear. Old style Tub interior. You get the idea. Still can be built into a nice replica.
  10. That should work as I think the 70 is the last of the Original Design. I Think Missing Link offers the 70 Convertible kit, so likely offers the grill/bumpers & tail lights
  11. 67-70 are a Different body than the 71-73. AMT offered the Gen-1 Cougar 67-69, and MPC took over in 70 MPC offered the Only Cougar Convertible too the 70. AMT re-issued their Last Cougar the 69 in Original XR-7 form in the 78-9 Count-Down Series. Shortly after that it was re-issued by New Owner Matchbox?Lesney as a Street MAchine, ALL Stock parts, and Original Engine were lost, never to be seen again. The kit was re-issued a few times as an Eliminator, And Cobra Jet with a 302 and 428 Engines, then last as the "Resto-Rod" version. That one returned the Street Machine engine and parts to the box, but Not the original XR7 parts. MPC and AMT re-issued the Last MPC kit as "The Cat" 73 Cougar. It is in tact as the Original Annual, just in Black in an MPC box, and Gray in AMT The Engines and Chassis are from the 70 Annual. Depending on what you want, you may have to get a complete kit or body. You Can not put a 67-70 grill/bumper on the 73, They Don't fit!
  12. Dodge?? Looks like a Plymouth to me. And Richard did not drive a Doge till 72. He did supply one for Buddy Baker in 71.
  13. Are the Tail lights part of the Diecast body? I thought they were separate plastic parts.D id you mask them off before painting??
  14. I would like to see the Volvo Globetrotter & Mercedes COE re-issued. They were their first Semi's I have the Volvo Built!
  15. Yep. Find one you like at a Good price and Buy iot! Over time, they add up!! Also, I get to a Pint and get stuck! (Most of the time that is choosing Final color!!) So I start another, then get to the Same sticking point!
  16. The Revell 57 Ford custom was already announced as coming in a Police issue. Thanks to Model King no less. The Jo-Han Fury was a 68. I too would love to see that retooled. But this time, Make the California department decal One that Actually used the Big body Plymouth!! LAPD used the Mid-size Belvedere/Satellite!!!
  17. The 94-6 was technically done. Revell tooled up the 91/92, then converted the kit to the 94-6 Impala SS. Classic Metal Works/Testor's has offered a few decal versions of the 99+ Crown-Vic. Yes I would Like to see Revell return the Caprice Police parts to that kit. And maybe offer it in more annuals from that era. Of the others listed,, All but especially the Matador!! But, How about a 71+ Satellite? Or even 66-67's or 68-69's!! The Most Popular Police package of the time I do believe. And Adam-12 used a 67 in the Pilot, 68 First season, 69 second & Third season, 71 four & Fifth seasons, and 73 Matador for the sixth through eighth seasons!! What about ANY of the Ford Big-Bodies 60-71?? (Mayberry) And we saw a few 67's & maybe 68's on Dragnet! Also saw a few 67 Dodge Coronets! Fords were popular in San Francisco through the 80's!! I would hope for Multiple options in Any new Police kit. Stock, Taxi/Other fleet service, and Multiple Agency markings!
  18. That is where we Goofed. Did Not look at your Location!!
  19. I agree. 1/24-1/25 Plastic kit, Diecast Kit or pre-built!!! I Do have a 1/43 scale set I got FREE!!!! CPD Cruiser, Blues Black & White & Street scene for diorama. That is the thing to remember here. Since this is manufactured in China, Is it possible, that most of the workers Dod Not speak, Read, Write English?? Also, couldn't they see both lines as the same? Especially if they don't comprehend English??
  20. I know there were many members getting Spam/Malware warnings when logging in. I suspect the Owner took it down to clean it out. Hope it will be back soon. Cargostar, TomSheehy, are also members there. Do either of them have a direct email address for the Firehouse??
  21. I could tell by the grill!! 2 rows plus Vertical Stacked headlights!!
  22. Yes, That is who I sent the email to. right off the page. (Contact Us) No reply, That was last year or 2 years ago. Got the link from the Scale Firehouse.
  23. Silver is the trick I used on a Jo-Han Ambulance molded in red to get White on the Roof and Not Pink!!
  24. Does not look like a 69 to me. More like a 66. If it were a Custom (Base level, I would get one to do a Mayberry out of)
  25. Might have to do mine that color combo too. Very Nice!!
