  1. I like this one even though it is not going stock. My resto project, a Former Hardtop "Boondock Bomber" will be an Indy Pace Car with Electra 225 trim added. No I did not stretch it to make an Actual 225 (I did not have measurements on where to cut & stretch) I am thinking of modifying the Monogram/Revell 59 Impala interior as close to Electra designs as I can. Both the original interior and resin copy have problems. Lost detail on Original, Warped seats in resin copy. Mono/Rev interior Fits the body!!! Should I show pic's??
  2. I want one, But even at "Only" $90.oo I Won't get one!!
  3. I would start with Aluminum tube instead.
  4. You just need a Special glue/cememnt for that Plastruct tube/rod. I got Large sheets of Styrene at Lowes many years ago. It was sold as a Tub Surround Kit. 5 sheets of approx 2.5 x 5 Feet!!! plus on flat joiner, and 2 corner joiners. Not sure if that type surround is still available, but might be. Check many different Home Improvement sellers. The sheets were about .06 to .08 inch thick. I have been using them for Many years. all my 1/32 scratch-built fire trucks are made of it! Testor's liquid cement in the jar bonds it quite well. Still have one entire sheet uncut!! Even the Molded surrounds might be Styrene. though I believe closer to .03 or .04 inch max
  5. You could start with the Lindberg/IMC/Testor's Tank, Box or Flat bed and build one of them Short. That is an option on all 3. Max trailer length then was 30-32 feet. and many box vans had a rounded front, so all kits are too modern. You will have to modify one to correct specs. I am not sure where to go to find plans for trailers of that era
  6. Wish they would return the Clear-red tail light lenses to the kit.
  7. Isn't this kit currently (Or recently) the Daisey Duke 74 GTX?Road Runner??
  8. I don't have a Space-place/fartbook acccount, don't plan on one, and Block All links to them!!!
  9. Definitely different than the MPC kit I built way back when!!
  10. The New for 59 Galaxie was an Option on the Fairlane 500. This is about Mid-year of the run when 'Galaxie' was added. Yes on the actual car it still had the Fairlane 500 script on the trunk and 'V' between th eback up lights. However, Galaxie replaced the Script on the rear fenders. Now look at the Kit and read the script on the rear fenders. "FAIRLANE 500", Thus the error. AMT's Hardtop & Sunliner convertible Did have Galaxie on the rear fenders. Anyone know Why the Fairlane 500 was Left on the Galaxie trunk line?? It Did have a Purpose I think the Big problem with New builders getting these Old Muti-piece body kits is the lack of notice that the kit IS an OLD design. I bought the 59 Skyliner kit in 74-75 in its First ever re-issue. It stated Right on the box, "As one of Revell's Oldest design kits, the body is made up of separate parts, Trunk, sides, roof, etc........." I had no trouble with it then. I still use the same technique in assembling them Use the chassis as a support when gluing the body parts together, Let set at least over night before removing the chassis, or other support piece used. How many just Slap the engine together without smoothing seams?? Do the same on these kits with Body joints. If you Scratch-build something, you should be able to handle these kits. If you avoid them do to the multi-piece body, Fine, More for me!!! I Like them, and will continue to buy and build them as long as I can! The ones shown are beautiful examples. It just comes down to the Prime rule, Take you time. Makes no difference if it is an AMT with one piece body, or one of these Antiques still issued with Multi-piece bodies.
  11. Harry, I knew it was that issue. Decals & Olds fiesta Caps were ONLY in those 2 issues. I said it looks like the Box art build FOR that issue I have 3 Originals to restore. My first Yellow issue currently under going resto, one yellow issue complete, and at least one more yellow to restore the 2 Skip's issues in progress, and one RoG 50th Anniversary not started yet. I also have several more for parts. I want the Revell US re-issue too (Only one molded white!) Think I like that 59 Fairlane 500 Skyliner!?? Oh yea, Since the Skip's issue, it has Mistakenly been marked a Galaxie. Know why it isn't??
  12. I am betting it is the Very Same kit!!!!!
  13. Wish they would offer that Cop-Out roof light rack as a Parts pack. I would order at least 12 to start!!
  14. I just watched that Maverick go over my budget. Wish I could get one. I have the Trans Am from them!! And I have seen that Jeep kit a few times recently on evilbay too. Never knew 'Stock-like' parts were in that box. I am interested in that one now
  15. Except for the Spot-lights, that looks like a Box art build for the "Skip's Fiesta" series issue of that kit. Nice. Here is one of mine of that issue; And another getting a Different build! I need to get back to work on these!! And I have been reminded me of another started. The Lincoln Futura. And I have the Pontiac Club De Mer Plus a few Pyro/Life-Like/Lindberg "1/32" scale kits 57 Chevy convert, & various 32-40 Fords & Chevy's
  16. When I saw MPC Vega, I was hoping Factory Stock.
  17. I looked at the "New Announcements" there and only saw R/C
  18. Forgot both IMC/Testor's 48 Ford Coupe & Convert. And a compilation of the 57 Squire built but needed to have major surgery. I need to replace the engine bay area. The joint along the fender top on one side keeps separating. The detail ridge there was filed/sanded down with all the body work repairing that separation/joint line. I was going to use an AMT Fairlane500 for that area, but might wait an look at the Revell Custom.
  19. I have a few too. 59 Skyliner (At least 7), 57 Ranchero, 60 (59) Vette) re-tool of the VW 23 Window Samba Van 56 Merc, Ford, Caddy, Lincoln, & Chrysler 1/32's Stock & Custum of both Ford Convert & Chrysler. Volvo F12 Globetrotter Semi tractor. All Revell. Plus Italeri Iveco & Volvo DLK & "US" truck with Baywatch trailer. And Revell boxed Italeri Ford AeroMax semi cab. I have never had a problem with them. And if they are the Only kit of a specific car, I WILL buy them!!
  20. isn't this an Italeri kit in a Revell Of Germany box?
  21. Anyone who has this model and does not like it, I will take it!!
  22. I do the drill out, Evergreen/sprue fill. Materials match
  23. I love that 65 Fire Chief. But is it really a Galaxie? or a base line Custom? Round tail lights in the bezel say it is a Custom!
  24. I built the Fiber-Optic version of AMT/MPC's Star Wars Star Destroyer. Punched so many holes in the hull, I needed more optics. Started drilling the 1701D for them too, and the Mid-scale 3 ship TOS Trek set for it too. It is Not Wire. it is more like Monofiloment. (Think Clear Fishing line.) And, Yes, You still need a Light source. I have an unbuilt DS9 to get to someday!
  25. Will this have the Stock parts?? If so, I might want one. (Though I still have not finished the original issue stock of this kit!!)
