  1. Hobby Shops can usually get you K&S rod if they don't carry it regularly. Just Watch watch you pick. I bought a 3 pack of 1/16 Rod, but got "Music Wire" It is almost Impossible to Cut!! I have to use Vise-Grips and adjust Down to Final cut. Then File the cut smooth. If I had my rotary tool tool available, I could likely cut it faster, easier, and Smoother!!
  2. Welcome to the show. I have Family up that way. Robinson/Moon/Coraopolis/Kennedy for one, and Mercer the other. Use to have family on The Island in th Ohio. Right Under the I-79 Bridge!! I would love to get back up that way some day!!
  3. I think it was Loomis, But I lost all contact with him.
  4. Yea. I have the kit, and it is molded in that Pearl Yellow. Also, the pic's on the linked page That are shown here. I have seen errors saying the 83 Riviera Pace Car was also in multiple colors. I had painted the interior on my 60 Olds Gray, but then read that it was Blue, so repainted it. I mixed various shades. Question here, Which is correct?? I also see the 62 Studebaker built with both Red, & Blue interiors, but read that the Pace Car had Blue As for Shades of Color, that is Subjective to each persons' eyes!!! I have read thet the 50 Mercury was Cream, but the Pic above shows it yellow.
  5. Art, Wish I could have found one of yours!! Still, I am working that Miller kit!! Just need to find the hubcaps! Forgot, I have 2 of that Stealth "Official Car" Kit, And one Promo too Though the Promo is Not pearl yellow. I think it is black. (Got it Free so I don't care that it is wrong!!)
  6. How close would they be for the Ghostbuster's 2 Ecto-1A?? The Updated Cruiser in the second movie had BFG's. I know MPC's version is smaller than the hollow Goodyear L60's in the original issue. I am planning on getting a few re-issues soon.
  7. Here are some others I have "in-Progress" 62 Studebaker; I am trying to simulate the Daytona trim on this one. I just added a strip of Evergreen across the Dip running 'Straight' across the side. I am not sure how accurate it is as I only did it based on OLD pictures. Tires are "Firestone Wide-Whiyes" from Lindberg's 53 Ford kit. 67 Camaro, converted from AMT (Matchbox era tooling) hardtop; Windshield frame is from an MPC 69 Camaro Pace car kit body!! And my MPC 86 Vette. Stuck with the Yellow body color!!!! I have already posted a pic of my 59 Buick, but can add one here. and the 4 Built are in the Indy Pace car folder in my photobucket "Models" albums Here; http://s145.photobucket.com/user/EdselDan/library/Models/Indy%20500%20Pace%20cars?sort=3&page=1
  8. Forgot I Finally got one of those Monogram Fiero's It was assembled with Scotch Tape!!!!!!!!!! Fun will be painting it White over that Red plastic!! And forgot I built the 80 Trans Am too!! Art, Who cast the 60 Olds 98 you mastered?? I have a Miller Memorabilia!! grill, bumpers, boot cover all cast in place on the body. It was more of a gel-coat type resin with Bondo fill inside!! Here is a pic of it. Interior came with the body. I had to replace the windshield frame. Gotta love those Monogram/Rev 59 Impalas!! Chassis is also from the Impala.(Need correct hubcaps!!) I used the Promo engine plug from AMT's 63 Impala SS kit, instead of adding an engine under the hood.
  9. I thought the Vegas Trickle Murdered was his Nephew. I do remember watching that on AMW I remember him on the 'Cup' curcuit. Oldest Rookie Of the Year!! I believe the Movie was a Fictionalization of Tim Richmond. Or that Cole was Loosely based on Tim.
  10. I have many of the kits to build or convert to Pace cars. Including a Jo-Han 31 Cadillac Cabriolet MPC/AMT 32 Chrysler Roadster with Italeri/Testor's 33 Grill. Lindberg 53 Ford, Monogram 55 Chevy, AMT 59 Buick, Miller 60 Olds 98 AMT Annual 61 T-Bird, Jo-HAn 62 Studebaker LArk, Monogram 64 Mustang, AMT 67 Camaro (Matchbox era tooled 67/68 Coupe with 69 Convert windshield frame) MPC & Revell 69 Camaro, Jo-Han 70 Olds 442 awaiting a second Rev 72 H/O Olds convert, AMT 70 Challenger waiting for 71 Conversion, Rev 72 H/O, Jo-Han 75 Olds Cutlass, MPC & Monogram 78 Vette, & 79 Mustang, Both built New in 79!! MPC 82 Camaro, also built new, MPC 86 Vette, AMT 92 Dodge/Mitsubishi Stealth AMT Viper Promo, Monogram 93 Camaro, 94 Cobra Mustang, 95 & 98 Vettes, AMT 96 Viper Coupe. I started work on a Jo-Han 72-4 Eldorado to replicate the 73, and a Monogram "High-Performance" GNX to replicate the 81 Buick I do have an Original AMT 66 Comet Promo in correct red, but it is a Hardtop!! I have all the Cady decal sheets except the 74 Buick & 92/96 Vipers!! Think I have been planning this for a while?? I am still hoping to get the other kits that were produced, but they would be the Most rare!! ie 63 Chrysler 300, 65 Fury, 68 Torino
  11. I drew the plans for this flat bed in 1/32 and built it. Tow hitch on Lindberg Charger is also scratch-built. The pickup box trailer is similar to the 1/25 build, but from an MPC Chevy Stepside "Trail Patrol" kit that got a Squad 51 type utility box added. Tongue 'A' frame is Plastruct 'I' beam Tires on the Pickup box trailer are from Lindberg 1/32 kits (Like the Charger & Cordoba in the picture) while the rims are from an IMC slotcar stock car kit. Tires on the flat bed are MPC 2pc from 77/78 Trans Am Pursuit Patrol, rims I think are from Monogram Malibu Police
  12. Here is the Brass tube frame for the Dodge "Pumpin' Iron" pickup box; Springs are from the Parts box. Don't remember what kit they are from. Axle tube is brass. I think rims are from AMT 70 ford Police. Tires are Revell Super soft Firestones in most Vanagon kits, and the Skip's 57 Chevy Nomad. And with the box in place; Here are parts of a Copied AMT Utility trailer from either the 63 Nova Wagon or 61/62 Buick Special Wagon Simple scratchbuild copy!!
  13. I think that is the one I don't have. I have the Boat & plane from that film, but not that car. I agree that it is not a great design, but it is still a LOT better than that Tank in the Dark Knight series of films! At least to My eyes!!!
  14. I would love to see them re-issue that Land Rover!!!! Been after one for some time, but..................................... I Ain't Fort Knox!!!
  15. Scratch 'Masking' tape and use Clear Package sealing tape like for shipping boxes. I use 2 inch wide. Also to Hide tape, you can use Double face, and place it INSIDE the joint. (Between the flaps, where the glue popped apart) I also re-enforce boxes by adding a layer of corrugated cardboard inside. This is good when stacking boxes on top each other!! And you can also place Loose parts in bags. I use ones from News papers, and zip-lock type. This will guarantee that if the box falls, or pops open for any reason, parts will not go flying all over!!
  16. I bought a set at Hobby Lobby. Contains 8 sheets 3.5x8 Inch 320, 400, 600, 1000, 2000, 4000, 6000, & 12000. Was $9.oo Alpha Abrasives 'Utra Fine Waterproof Finishing Kit'- Professional Hobby Pack Haven't tried it yet.
  17. I forgot about AMT's 64, 65, & 66's, (And, I Have a 66 built as the Custom Pickup.) Sadly, custom bumpers, grill, etc, And almost got a friend to buy an Unbuilt 64 convertible!! Not sure Why AMT has only re-issued One kit (69 GTO 'Judge' Funny car) Model King first got re-issued, but, hopefully they will start re-issuing them again soon. Always wanted the X-El re-issue 68.
  18. Good question I have been looking for some too, but larger. 17-25 gauge. I could use the steel tube part for Hinges, etc!!
  19. But, I think the 61 is the last Imperial AMT/SMP offered! Not sure we will get an All new tooling of one any time soon CAN Hope, but......................................
  20. I have that one too. I do Like them OLDIES!!!!! And yes, Please Find some of the other Original 59's and 58's to re-issue!!!! Maybe the 2 Odd 60 Chevy's Nomad wagon & El Camino!!!! Drop the Fort Knox price off those originals!!
  21. Here is mine. FIRE Tanker with AMT Mack R 685
  22. Still hoping for a Convertible, but Can work with the New hardtop to get one At least it will be easier than trying it on the Fleetline!!
  23. Evergreen Does NOT offer Tread/Diamond plate at this time. Plastruct Does, but you have to buy it by engraved size, not scale listed. I have found that their HO scale is a Good match to the trade plate engraved on Monogram/Revell 1/32 scale Semi trucks, and Some 1/25 scale truck kits. 1/48 'O' scale is likely best for most 1/24 and some 1/25 scale kits. DO NOT use Plastruct 1/24, it will be TOO Large a Pattern/scale Diamond
  24. True, Wrong scale!!! 1.25-1/24 MAX!! I wold even go 1/32
  25. Depends. I have Lost interest in most 'new' offerings from the car companies. I mostly prefer Pre-75. Most New ones look too much alike, even Crossing brands!!!
