  1. I know the one in my area has more than only 15 kits. But as for the emessage idea. It would be a better one if it were actually Email. As some one else stated somewhere on the board, "Not everyone has been Assimilated into the faceBORG!!!" I have not,. and never Will be!!
  2. The 1/20 Vega & Gremlin from Lindberg were Tooled by LINDBERG NOT Palmer!! I have an Original Vega. It reads Super Mini-Lindy, or such on the chassis!! Lindberg also did the Vega & Gremlin in their Matchbox/Hot Wheels size "Mini-Lindys". The Larger kits are just Enlargements of those, save the custom blower/intake on the top of the hood of the Vega!! I have both the smaller ones, and can compare the 2 Vegas!!!!
  3. Also, If they are the same as on a built I found, they are better for a 30's or 40's car than a 70's . Mine were Firestone Super Balloon Specials!! And I only got 3 tires on the built!! Definitely NOT era correct on a "Sometimes Muscle car" For Firestone's, I would use the Supremes instead. Better would be Goodyear F70 Wide Track Speedway's!! I never glued them together. I let the front rim/hubcap & wheelback hold the tire together after they are cemented together. One of the Model Railway mag's use to call that material Delryn, then changed to calling it "Slippery Engineering Plastic"
  4. Brake Fluid Will KILL Resin!! it is also the Slowest paint stripper I have used! I started with it, then used "Fabulous" Now I have been using Wesley's. I do have a bottle of "LA's Totally Awesome" that I got at Dollar Tree to try. I will watch this. I but the DM800 Tractor Many years ago. I would love to get another, but...................
  5. Nice idea, and start. Have you got hidden Hydraulics in those up-rights for the upper level? You might find that necessary to drive the load into the Lower level so you don't end up taking the roof off something.
  6. Yes, Hot Wheels did the Wienermobile, And there are a few 1/25 scale Banks available. I have 4 of them myself. However, as of yet, No kits have been produced.
  7. Yes on the wire. Make it the same diameter as the receiving hole in the roof & floor Drill into the door at the location deep enough for it to stay Or do it carefully and on the backside, scribe a shallow groove for it to run top to bottom, full length. Epoxy/super glue it in place then fill the rest of the groove with strip styrene or putty
  8. I read somewhere,(Maybe an email group) that the rear fenders were widened after the original issue and in the recent Stock re-issues are too wide for the Stock tires, or an authentic stock build
  9. Only thing is, Who in the US sells these?? I see them listed on evil Auction from China, Japan, etc, but have never seen them in ANY stores! I would get all of them if they were available Locally/regionally
  10. I too have a couple of these. I was using AMT's Turnpike Slot car tires, Rubber Firestone Darlington Gum Dipped, on the 64 "Fleetside" (Now have AMT Firestone Supremes) but moved them to the 65 I am mounting a Model-King "Deluxe Parts Pack Open Road Mini-Motor Home on. (Yes I had to Stretch the frame to Longbox specs! The problem mentioned above about the way the Fleetside box is tooled is that is a Phantom CAMEO Carrier box and Not a True Fleetside box. The Cameo Carrier has Fiberglass fenders mounted to a Stepside box. in 58 Chevy/GM came out with the Fleetside and widened the floor of the bad to the outer "Fenders" I have done this conversion on both this 64, And AMT's 60 It is not TOO difficult, but will require 2 boxes to do it!! here is a rear angle shot showing the cut & modified bed of the Fleetside box. The seam is visible on the wheel well; Yes those are the Outer box sides in the bed!! Here is the Mini-Motor;
  11. I love this one!! I have seen those "Full-View" or are they "Clear- View" Corner lights They actually have a Metal/Chrome top surface to them. Too bad Jo-Han did not engrave a separation line there for us to Foil it!! I have a couple parts lots to restore!! Wish I could find the one I did a High-top conversion on!!
  12. I think the first kit I found them in was the "Travolta Firebird" Not the best Firebird/Trans Am with those IMSA fenders & whale-tail spoiler!! Too bad the body was molded with those IMSA extensions in place!!
  13. I have a few of those. VERY Soft Rubber. They were in Revell kits like the Skips issue 57 Chevy Nomad, and the Many VW Vanagon versions!!
  14. All states state that Mail Order & Internet sale WITH-In a State Should (Must) collect/include Sales tax. However, they are trying to get ALL mail order/Internet sales to be taxed. But How?? The state the Seller in Headquartered in? The Sales office/Warehouse that packages/processes the order? The Buyers state?? Any state the order Travels through to get from seller/warehouse, to Buyer?? See where I am going here??!! I have already Refused delivery of orders, and even canceled them in=progress due to sales tax being added and Not being given an address to send payment that is IN my state of residence I see a LOT od on-line & mail order sales Falling drastically when That Interstate sales tax becomes Manditory
  15. I can't play with ebay too much I don't have pay-Bay, so need to find sellers who accept Postal Money Order. It is also why I don't have the Prostar yet too.
  16. I go more for the Factory Stock, But Do love those 59 Fords!! I too want to see the end result of this build/resto. I have a few myself. Yes, the front grill from all 3 brands, AMT, PMC, & Revell pretty much interchange But remember, PMC's tail lights were attached to the bumper and Surface mounted! AMT & Revell were inset. I modified both PMC Ranchero & Country Sedan wagon Toy issues to accept the Revell tail lights by drilling the location out. And to mount the Revell rear bumper, added a piece of .04-.06 styrene to the area between the fender edges, and drilling for mounting pins. The Ranchero got a Revell grill, the Wagon kept the PMC piece. I too have converted one to a 4dr sedan, but I started with a Butchered Convertible and added a resin 59 Edsel roof!!
  17. I built an Original 72 Annual and a :Hombre" re-issue of the Commando. Plus I have an Auto-Scape's issue of the "Mountain Goat" version The Jeep type grill is the OLDER issue. The red "Mount'n Goat" on the right is the Commando grill and in all the issues since the 72 annual I have a Parts lot 68 that needs Stock parts to restore!! The Sedan/Wagon type roof was Last in the 72 Annual!! Surprisingly the Stock open rims, and even the Chrome Jeep hubcaps were on both the Hombre's & Mountain Goat's chrome trees. Also, to build a standard height suspension, I just reversed the Hombre/Mountain Goat mounting points for the axles & springs. My built is a Fire Department cruiser. Like an Older Chief's car. It has the Snow plow from the Annual kit too!!
  18. I believe "Beaver-Tail" refers to the angled section of the trailer before the ramps.
  19. wasn't it only a 2-wheeler in that Vette?? Looks like the 4-wheeler in my Fireball 500 Custom Cuda kits!! (Read that it IS the trailer in there too!!)
  20. I have Built SEVERAL of those Revell Full Feature Tri-5 Chevy's and NEVER had any Problems!! Including TWO of this Pink Lowrider. Be advised that ONLY the rims/tires shown on the box art are included! NO Stock tires or hubcaps!! I am restoring an Original of the 57, and have a 56 Nomad I bashed using the Revell kits!!!! Then of course, Monogram comes out with an actual kit of the 56 Nomad!!!!! It might help to tape the doors & trunk lid to the body when assembling the hinges to them. That will help with keeping everything lined up!!
  21. Price is due to Parts count. The R&R kits are almost complete. (Body, interior, seats, dash, grill/bumpers, etc) You need tores, etc, but everything else is included. The Flintstone is a Body Only(Like the pic of the 61 Impala 2dr wagon above). Maybe a hood. But NO grills/bumpers, etc. All that comes out of your parts box/donor kit.
  22. Why not go for the 1/33 scale B-52?? You think this is Big, The B-52 is 6 FT Wing Span!!!!!
  23. All we can do is wait and see if Round2 gives us that option again. Otherwise, You will either have to Cut the windows out yourself, and come up with correct Bench seats, or find an Original/early issue that still has those parts. The kit I have in the Penski set has the window inserts for the body, but not the bench seats for the Passenger option!! They pop up on that evil auction site, but plan to SPEND $$$$$ for an unbuilt!! Heck, Plan to SPEND on a Built Too Just watched one built as the Open Road MIni-Motor Home go past $45.oo and a second built as a Custom go over $35.oo!! Both had the separate side inserts! The Mini-Motor Home had the Roof extension!
  24. I believe they had Photo-etch due to the Small size, and Monogram wanted maximum Detail
  25. True, I too would hope for all the Original ear parts to be returned, but since they did not return the option of Window van or cargo panels and rear door windows to the Dirty Donny Back-dated kit, I doubt they will do it for this one Adding back the Rescue specific parts, Yes, but, the ability to make a passenger window van......... Only by custom work on our part!! The original issue of this version of the Chevy van kit had FOUR build options, plus modifications between those 4. They were Rescue, Police Paddy Wagon/Equipment unit, Cargo van & Passenger Window van with TWO bench seats!! We will likely get ONE of the Bench seats as it Is used in the rescue van. The 5-pc stretch should be returned, the 3 pc Oxygen tanks & cabinet with drawing to make a mask from masking tape/paper and line from thread, rope coil, axe, 2-pc bull horn, 4 flasher bases We should get 2 each red, and amber Strobe/rotator domes. (Maybe 2 blue for Police version if that option is in the box again.
