Edsel-Dan replied to Austin T's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
yea I goofed and did not read what I typed MPC original tooled the MACK DM's & Gravel Trailer The Sold the tooling to Ertl. Ertl continued to issue them placing their Loge in p-lace of the MPC logo. No other box art change -
I like this too. Do wish it was a 70or 72, as Indy has a couple H/O versions of those!! Interesting seeing an H/O version of a Wagon!!! I HOPE to save up to get one of these!!!!

I built the DM 800 in that scheme MPC first offered these kits Before selling the tooling to MPC in 72 I have the Catalog showing them. The cab was molded in red for the scheme. So on those, it Was Pre-Bicentennial I do hope more of those get re-issued. -
The rarest AMT truck model?
Edsel-Dan replied to Mr mopar's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
"Orange Blossom Special" was a 37 Chevy, Not 41! Meister Brau Tractor has Not been re-issued either. But, Will either get re-issued now?? They did not sell well then, so..................... A Pull Sled and other Pull tractors were planned but dropped due to sales figures of the 3 kits offered. OSB, MB & Tennesse thunder Funny car puller Was that one offered separately, or only with the LN transporter?? I have only seen the double kit myself. -
I wish I could do that Pace car myself. I have the decal sheet waiting!!!! Definitely watching this one!

The rarest AMT truck model?
Edsel-Dan replied to Mr mopar's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The 1/32 Eagle was an Ertl issue Before they purchased AMT I had one MANY years ago.. I do wish they would re-issue more of those 1/32 truck kits!! And, Yes, I would liek to see th e1/25 Transtar COE re-issued too! -
I only have the sedan Did you think of using one of those for the front Bench?? or did it look more like the buckets you have??
-
Tires actually look like the Compact tires from the Annuals and promos. I have 2 61 Ranchero's a Styline and Desert "El Ranchero Grande" 1 64 Falcon Promo, and others with then, and the look the same. Rims look too large compared to the tire.

I got one! The AMT Ford LN-8000 Race Car Hauler!
Edsel-Dan replied to schwack's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
been so long since I built it!!! I don't remember having any problems. I did cut all the doors out and hinged them Plus added the steering. I do want to get the re-issue. I have a couple ideas for one!! -
A Straight Side shot might do better In all 3 above, it looks like the rear wheels are too far forward, and too narrow a track for the body. I have thought about stretching the AMT 68/9 chassis to fit the Jo-Han Fury 4dr sedan body not cutting molded on detail off.

I see the Custom Headlight Lenses It is hard to tell, bu those red lenses look to be Custom parts too. Didn't original Promos have the 2 piece tail lights like the original kits?? -
Did you remove any Chrome trim?? If this was suppose to be a Pace car, It should have had a chrome stripe that ran from Windshield frame to Boot cover, Down, Accross, then back up Yellow car with that area above the chrome black. I would love to find one I have the decal sheet already.

Whats the weirdest kit in your stash?
Edsel-Dan replied to mustang1989's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I believe they are a kit to themselves! Sure look like it! Besides, How many 1/6 scale car kits are there?? And it looks like there is ONLY One wheel per kit. You want to buy 4 separate kits to place the On a car?? -
