  1. Ghostbusters. The Original film When the Large Staypuft Marshmallow Man (person in costume) is starting to climb the side of the building. The Police cruisers, Fire trucks, Ecto-1 are all Models You can tell by the different Flashing of the Model lights versus the actual vehicles. Starlog mag did an article about that too. I think I still have that issue, but not sure where
  2. http://s82.photobucket.com/user/harrypri/media/1911%20Christie/christie5_zps5d8f3cc4.jpg.html I think this was a "Knox-Martin" I have one of the Reader's Digest Miniatures that looks like this and that is the Name on it. "1914 Knox-Martin" 1999 Reader's Digest Association Inc. Here: I love this. I had one of the MPC kits years ago. Almost lost it to a Fire! Traded it off a few years later.
  3. For the most part, They engine is the same in all issues. But, The MPC kit had One air cleaner design, and AMT had a different one Also take into account, the AMT GMC versions. AND the Blazer/Jimmy kits as well!! MPC's kits had Single Exhaust with Cross-over mainfolds while AMT kits had twin exhaust. The recent issues of the 72 are based on th e Original MPC Fleetside box, And AMT GMC Stepside kit cab/chassis. The grill & front bumper are one piece and Not as acurate as one from a Cooter's Tow Truck issue!! That one had separate grill & bumper Like the 71 & 72 Annuals or the 74 issue Longbox stepside and 2 modified versions. Heavy Pedal & Rolling Thunder. These 2 had a Heavy duty type bumper not the stock one, while Heavy Pedal actually shows a Stock one in the box art. Heavy pedal had a Deep set stock grill, but likely was a re-tool/modification of the Tube type in the Rolling Thunder as I have read that Rolling Thunder came second in this series with Heavy Pedal being the third and Final. I like those decals, but for clearer printing, the larger file might work better. I am not surprised that the Pickup & Blazer gills don't swap between kits. The pickups have ALWAYS had the headlights cast in place, while the Blazers/Jimmy's have Separate lenses. Look at the M-K re-issue too. Not only do you still get the GMC Jimmy headlight lenses (all 4) you also get the Chrome Jimmy Badges. All that kit needs is the GMC grill/bumper and we have a 2n1 kit!!! MAYBE we can talk round2 into offering it that way soon!! I do not have pictures of the engine parts, built engines or instructions at hand. Give me a day or 2 and good Sunny weather with No wind, and I can take a few pic's and if I remember, can look for instructions on the DPMCC fotki site, or in my files. Sorry about this part, but, the camera I am using is an OLD 1.3 MP Sony, and Does NOT like to take INDOOR Pic's At All!! No matter how many and how BRIGHT the lights I add. if anyone Has good pic's post them.
  4. Interesting Though Hard to know actual color from that pic. And those rims! They remind me of ones from the Silhouette. Though I don't remember if those have th e knock-offs!!. Would not be Too hard to add, If you could find a correct 3 blade set
  5. Thought I posted this! Don Loomis offered a Conversion body Based on those Isuzu BXD's His was converted to American OLDIE and advised you to combine it with one of the Older Pickup kits. ie 40 Ford, 41 Chevy, 50 Chevy or Ford. I believe they are also occasionally seen on evilbay , and sometimes with a cowl/hood piece I think a 40 or 41 Ford. I have not seen one in a while.
  6. Since there were No Wix locations near me, I never saw the Promo/Toy items. I do wonder how many different liveries were offered on that Blazer. I do remember the Kit in Toys R Us once or twice. But never had the $$ when they were there. Now they go too high!!! I can build one of th e M-K issues as a 69 Though! I have a few extra 69 Pickup grills!! and 2 complete kits, as well as a few Parts lots that should yield at least 2-3 More builds. Though I MIGHT bash a couple into a Suburban of that era
  7. My first 65 Galaxie kit was the "Hot Rods" issue! Built stock Unpanted white with White paint Vinyl top! On the Tire issue, I wonder how long before buyers send a request to Round2 for those "Missing" Nascar tires?!
  8. Surprising, since Round2 has 2 different types of those to use! The Meyer's Manx has AMT design Blue Streak Stock Car Specials for the Street version rears!!
  9. I too would love a Checker Other than the Danbury/Franklin Mint piece of course!!!
  10. They were 1/24, and a Direct copy of Jo-Han's set up!! I have the LAPD Dodge kit Original Issue! Yes the caps are clear, but, look too small foer that Large beacon! I have the Lindberg 1/20 scale Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee Michigan SP unit (I live in Maryland so Also MSP!) Dome cap is molded red not clear or in pieces. That beacon looks to be about 12 inch diameter or maybe even 14. The Jo-Han/Yodel pieces are not that large. You have to look CAREFULLY at Jo-Han Detroit Blue caps too Later issued Are MOLDED in Blue and will NOT strip!!!! You could make4 the Base, and rotator inside easily. I have, The look for a Blister pack the has the Dome like that and use it. Mask the 2 clear lines and time the rest red I saw one of those lit up at night and it made the thing look PINK!!! NOT many were used arround here I only ever saw that one!!! The only other options I know of, are taking that Lindberg 1/20 piece and Cutting it apart finding Clear the correct diameter, (or sheet thick enough) and reassembling the dome sandwich style I too would like a few of these. And CORRECT, Not like the Lindberg piece!!! One question Are there 2 or 4 sealed beams on that rotator??
  11. I have the North American Van Lines truck Built it WAY Back When Got it in Coraopolis, Pa. At the Bike & Hobby!! He Dumped out Hobbys a LONG time ago.
  12. Wish RC2 had not butchered the GMC stepside into the "72 Chevy" Fleetside we have had re-issued 4 times since the yellow/white box art. It would be nice if they could offer the 70-72 Sierra Grande again Hopefully a resin caster out there does or will!!! What happened to the Cooter's Tow truck Tooling?? How did they loose that almost While In production, causing the re-tooling of the GMC in the first place????
  13. I believe Ertl offered that 69 Blazer as a Toy then decided to offer it as a kit It was offered Before the Yellow box art Styrene 72 kit. I have tried several times to get one, but have missed out One thing about this kit. The body is in 2 main pieces. The primary body with sides, etc, but the Hood & windshield frame are the second piece. The Roof is a separate Plastic piece. Tires, as far as I remember from the Blueprinter/Replica newsletter are Hollow-Back hard styrene!
  14. yea I goofed and did not read what I typed MPC original tooled the MACK DM's & Gravel Trailer The Sold the tooling to Ertl. Ertl continued to issue them placing their Loge in p-lace of the MPC logo. No other box art change
  15. I like this too. Do wish it was a 70or 72, as Indy has a couple H/O versions of those!! Interesting seeing an H/O version of a Wagon!!! I HOPE to save up to get one of these!!!!
  16. I built the DM 800 in that scheme MPC first offered these kits Before selling the tooling to MPC in 72 I have the Catalog showing them. The cab was molded in red for the scheme. So on those, it Was Pre-Bicentennial I do hope more of those get re-issued.
  17. "Orange Blossom Special" was a 37 Chevy, Not 41! Meister Brau Tractor has Not been re-issued either. But, Will either get re-issued now?? They did not sell well then, so..................... A Pull Sled and other Pull tractors were planned but dropped due to sales figures of the 3 kits offered. OSB, MB & Tennesse thunder Funny car puller Was that one offered separately, or only with the LN transporter?? I have only seen the double kit myself.
  18. I wish I could do that Pace car myself. I have the decal sheet waiting!!!! Definitely watching this one!
  19. The 1/32 Eagle was an Ertl issue Before they purchased AMT I had one MANY years ago.. I do wish they would re-issue more of those 1/32 truck kits!! And, Yes, I would liek to see th e1/25 Transtar COE re-issued too!
  20. I don't have a separate video card in this DELL. And not sure how to color test the monitor. Oh well.
  21. I only have the sedan Did you think of using one of those for the front Bench?? or did it look more like the buckets you have??
  22. Tires actually look like the Compact tires from the Annuals and promos. I have 2 61 Ranchero's a Styline and Desert "El Ranchero Grande" 1 64 Falcon Promo, and others with then, and the look the same. Rims look too large compared to the tire.
  23. been so long since I built it!!! I don't remember having any problems. I did cut all the doors out and hinged them Plus added the steering. I do want to get the re-issue. I have a couple ideas for one!!
  24. I like that blue one too Those "Red's" on the front are interesting Firefighter? or Police?? Sure would make a Nice Stealth Speed enforcer!!!
