With a Surfboard, and what look like 2 Skate boards, I would Bet that Yes it is an RC Helo. And, Yes, I too would Love to find some of these!!!!
-
Actual car was a 50 though. Larger parking lights and different trunk and side trim details. Does Modelhaus offer the grill from the Aurora Mod Squad woody?? That would be correct. And I have read that the MPC Snap Mecrusy Police kit has the 50 Side trim I have the decals for this one too. I have the Classic Metal Works Diecast (Likely what this kit is from) In a Cream Close to that!!! Might use the decals on it

Try this again!!!! I LOVE this one! One of my Favorite cars the Toronado!! I have 3 of this kit. 2 are Jo-Han USA Oldies re-issues, the other an AMT boxed Original! The AMT is a restoration project, the 2 Jo-Han are unbuilt. I also have a 72 I have been trying to restore. Used parts from a 75/76 Eldorado (All the front suspension) I know Jo-Han issued the 66 First, but did they update it to 67 Spec's? or leave it as a 66 And allow AMT to issue it with 67 box art?? My MPC 67 has the front corner side lights that the AMT boxed Jo-Han doesn't!! I have a few of the Eldorados too I built the 70 shortly after it was Re-issued, and have another unbuilt. I have 2-3 unbuilt 76's too. And a few 71-74's. One will eventually be a 73 Indy Pace car!! With a ll that I have, I don't recall paying much attention to the engine markings. I would not be surprised to see them crossed over though. Most of the rest of the chassis parts Are The same tool anyway!!!

I am almost betting, That Revell never had a problem with Firestone demanding Increased fees like Goodyear. It appears that most tires that are now Blank were All formerly Goodyear branded. I have the Cali-Wheels issue of the 60 Impala has the Firestone Wide-White wall insert tires!! Sadly, all issues of the 59 Impala have the Old Generic No tread detail white wall inserts from OLD 50's/60's Monogram kits!!! I have not been able to get a recent re-issue of either 59 Caddy kit. Did they remove the BF Goodrich Silvertown labels on those??
-
Sounds like the same tires from the Cali Wheels issue of their 60 Impala. I have one and they Are Firestones!!! If the next version of this IS a Convert. I prefer a 50!!! INDY 500 anyone?!!!!

Truck and Trailer question ?
Edsel-Dan replied to AMT4EVR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You Can leave the Tri-Axle trailer as is if building a Canadian unit! Watch "Highway Thru Hell" on "The Weather Channel" and see!! MANY Tri-Axle tailers Plus another semi we don't see in the US, "B Trains" 2 40 Foot trailers NOT 25-30 footers!!!! -
Revell Mercedes Benz Unimog U 1300 Rallye
Edsel-Dan replied to jrherald420's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I believe this is a Re-issue of the Dakar kit from a few years ago. And, Yes, The basic Unimog has been offered for several years! I Think I got my first 3 of it in 88!!!! TLF 8/18 Fire Department version First RoG Imports I found in a store Paid $10.oo each for them at a Big Lots/Odd Lots in McKeesrocks Pa!!! Was interesting finding the Round Tape tabs they used to SEAL the kit, versus the Shrink-Wrap done here!!!!! -
As stated above It already Did with AMT/MPC kits. Most likely with Round2/Auto World's Purchase from RC2/Racing Champions/Ertl. They have already been re-issues M-K exclusives for the past 2-3 years!! I think the First was the 69 GTO "The Judge" Funny car in retro-Deluxe MPC box art.

Yes. But, Look at the legnth of the list. Also look at the Number of votes for many items. Some are Under 10, some have Hundreds!! I got the Link from Space Paper Models Yahoo Group, and posted it to all my Plastic Kit groups Glad to see it already here. I voted on Many myself YES I voted for Squad 51!! And Magarett's Mercury too! But, The one shown is the Pilot Only Marauder, while the Series car was a 4dr hardtop!! I voted for the 3 US Buses too!! GM Futureliner, Fishbowl City/Intercity & Greyhound SceniCruiser!! Don't think they will make the cut. But, Would Not be surprised to see FNDY's Ladder 10 get picked!!! That one had 700++ votes last night Before I got there!! I also voted for Det. Store's 72 Ford, "Movies 75 Police Car (Plymouth) 67 Catalina Convert, 48 Tucker, and "Lady Penelope's FAB-1 Rolls.!! I also would love to see the Skyfighter from V, and the Sub from Fantastic Voyage! and 2 versions of the Mack R700. Straight semi cab, and Rubber Duck With Chemical tanker!! I think it can also be used for Mad Max's rig from Road Warrior!!! A different tank trailer would be needed, but, the cab is close!!! Change to Right drive of course!!!!! Of the TREK, I only picked the USS Grissom from "Search For Spock. I have not heard of the one captained by Ezri Dax!! When did She make Captain and leave DS-9!!??!!??!!

AMT GMC Astro 95 Rear Wheel ID?
Edsel-Dan replied to Casey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I need to check but, I though the Ertl Truck kit tires were more A "Delryn" typeype plastic than vinyl like the AMT kits of the time.I have an International 4070 And a DM-800 tractor to check!! -
Actually, You Can do Dirt cars IF they are ARCA. Treaded tires will be the only problem parts wise. Paint scheme will be Finish wise. ARCA Still runs a few Dirt races a year, AND Look IDENTICAL to Nascar Winston Cup cars as they were Bought used by many teams!! (Even/Esspecially back then!!) They May Not sell well on either evilbay or Craigs list Unless someone really wants a Specific car or driver!! I have at least 2 of that Thunderbird Rookies set for the Kulwicki car!! (And He was Leading an ARCA race at Atlanta in his Only Car "Sirloin" while going for Rookie of the Year in Cup [Or was it the Next year?], but he spun out on the back straight and flattend 3 of the 4 tires and basically out after that!! SAME Quincy sponsors on the car too!!!!

This would make an interesting diorama.................
Edsel-Dan replied to Joe Handley's topic in WIP: Dioramas
Revell/Momogram Use to It came with at least 4 different body sets in different colors. It was in the Pro-Finished series. I remember seeing it once at a Family Toy Warehouse at the same time AMT's Modern Tool 57 Chevy Bel Air debuted Got the New bel Air, But Not the Smart. Hopefully Revell re-issues it soon!! -
Wish they could re-issue this one!!!!!
-
I bet if it had had Petty Enterprise marking it would have been made!!!

I will have to look up to see the number of Fairlane 500 vs Galaxie Skyliners! I have the book "Standard Catalog of American Cars 1946-1975 for that. I know Galaxie was a Mid-year intro, but how far into the year was it?? And, Though the Hinging mechanism in the kit is good, it is FAR from accurate to the actual car. There was no package shelf behind the rear seat, but, it is part of the kit. It is how the roof is held to the hinges. Also, to get the front part of the roof to flip down, but still fit tight to the main section in the Up position, I had to change them from flat against the underside, to angled downward at the hinge point Which is more like the actual car too I would love one myself. ANY Year Or maybe an EDSEL Skyliner!!! 58 Or 59!! There are a few out there too!!!!! Most 58's still have the Ford Tail fin in place too!!!!!

Great American Truck Race
Edsel-Dan replied to Superpeterbilt's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Too bad that division folded here GATR. The Do still race Semis in Europe & Aussie, But Not here anymore!!!! -
That IS exactly what that is. I have a Box I can photograph and post if interested. I also have an Unbuilt of the "Mini-Pumper" body but molded in white. The 70 Annual issue also had the Fire Truck option in it, and I THINK most 70's were molded in White I believe Most 69's were Red, Both this issue, And the Open Road Mini Motor Home kit Though I have seen a few of That one molded in blue! And the 71's were back to Red, as I have a "Racer's Wedge issue with Red pickup and White Wedge!!
-
I had a Sleeper issue original and Did Not glue the hood/grill to the bumper. Leave it loose to lift off Built a Second cab And the Original Tow Truck version. Can open the hoods on Both!!
-
As I said earlier, Due to the Trunk lock being In the first 0 5-"0"-0, they Left the Fairlane 500 trunk trim on ALL 59 Galaxies, Not just the Skyliner!! I almost Bought a 4dr Sedan and It had that 'V' trim between the back-up lights with the Fairlane 500 Script and the Trunk lock was under that 0.

History of Revell's 1980-86 Ford Pickups
Edsel-Dan replied to Fabrux's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I had that LA County Sherriff's Bronco The Lightbar was 2 identical pieces not 1. I would love to find another, or at least the parts from it as I have an AMT "Wild Hoss 79 I want to do as an LA County Sherriff Departments ESD (Emergency Sevices Division) {Paramedic Rescue!!!} piece. -
I have the RoG SSP 50th Anniversary issue and can try to dig it out and check the tires. Back in this thread the pic's I posted, I show a restored Turq/White one with OLD Rev White Stripe US Royal Masters, They are definitely more accurate than the Monogram Wide-white side insert tires that Rev USA put in the Skip's issues. Also Notice that RoG's reprint of the Original 59 Box-art Does state FAIRLANE 500 and Not Galaxie!! Then see that Rev USA Goofed it again and called it a Galaxie I too have to agree about Tom Coolidge. I was looking at buying some of his 59 Buick parts, but he said he no longer made them I got a Box of parts from him FREE!!!! Wish I had the $$ I would order that 59 Ford!!!! I did show I LIKE them!!!!!

I have not heard of the "Allison-Thunderland' being re-issued, But Round2/Auto-World Has re-issued a few of the M-K released kits recently. MPC's GTO "The Judge" Funny car I think was the first to be re-issued After M-K's run. This time in retro-Deluxe MPC box-art. The 78 Ford F-250/350 Firestone Super Stone is the latest. So anything is possible. I too am greatfull for his work. I have a few of the kits he has had run. I am surprised to hear that the Comet did Not sell well originally, as they are Impossible to get now unless you have at least $50.oo for one!! (Sadly I don't!!!)

I like this, and may copy you (Partway) But, You are Not making a Correct Fleetside by keeping the STEPSIDE inner box sides!!! By tooling this Pickup as they did One-piece box/bed), AMT/Ertl made a PHANTOM Cameo.. With the 58 Model year, Chevrolet/GM dropped the Stepside based Cameo and widened the Bed floor calling the Pickup FLEETSIDE. The outside Fender type box sides were Identical to the CAMEO, but were Now Steel Not Fiberglass as in the CAMEO Carrier The Outer wall of the Bed was the Inside surface of the "Fender" To be accurate, you should add a plank to Both outside edges of the floor (And of course Widen the wheel wells)!! Look at this Pic from the "Free Laser Cut Wood Bed" post; http://newoldcar.com/images/Featured_Cars/Chevrolet/C10/301_1966_Chevrolet_C10_Pickup/1966%20chevrolet%20c10%20pickup%20bed.jpg There is NO Straight Vertical bed side there!! Yes, I know, That vertical side Does make reattaching the Fender side Easier, But, the box looks VERY Wrong!!!! By the way, REVELL made the Same Mistake on their 64 "Fleetside" Phantom Cameo!!!!! Taking the CHEAP way out and making a FAKE replica!! I can post pic's of what I have done to both my AMT 60 & Rev 64 to correct those MAJOR mistakes if interested. (I already have in other threads)
