They Were offered in the 80's & 90's, They added a ZR-1 Vette to the offering and changed the grill in the Ford Pickup Camper to a Chevy grill (71-72 style) NO they did NOT alter the Body at all I have both versions! They were in an area "Boscov's" There were 2 kits & 2 one-pc. Motorcycles in the box. I believe the ZR-1 & Pickup Camper was one set. I still have Most of mine around. Including the 65/66 Chevy Van!!! I have the 'Boat-Tail' Riv too!!! Never saw the Eldorado or Lincoln Mark till recently on that evil Auction bay Those Garages were included in later issues, so Could be offered again too!! That is IF they decide to even re-issue the 'Mini-Lindy's' !!!

OK here are the 2 pic's I have of the Andy/ Mayberry 59 Ford. Note, This Cruiser was seen only Once, And Not even On the Andy Griffith Show!!!!! I wish I had her painted, Not likely now though with Cold coming so fast some days!! And YES the LAPD Can lights Are correct for this One! Just, Not sure if rear lenses should be red, or amber The Roof is from a resin 59 Edsel. Body is an AMT Sunliner. ALL Bright-work had been removed. A previous owner was going to use the Revell parts on it I have a second 59 Ford Police Cruiser in progress. 1 2dr Sedan for Baltimore City That one started as a Revell Skyliner kit I don't have the decals for her yet either, so................ And, Yes, I would Love to do as many of the Mayberry cars as possible. How long did Mayberry RFD run After Andy?? Till 71?? And then the what, 78-89 Impala/Caprice of the Reunion Movie "Return To Mayberry"?? -
Trumpeter included 8-lug rims in there 60 Bonneville kits, so Yes, They must have been available then. I personally don't care for them myself. So will look for standard Hubcaps. I happen to have an extra set from AMT's 61 Bonney, so will look at adapting them, unless the Moebius Catalina/Ventura includes them

Most of the Gangbusters kits did not share the Guns, etc. Though they may each have a Pisstol, they may be different between kits. I have the AMT Connoisseur Classics issue of the 28 Lincoln Touring & 32 Chrysler Roadster/Cabriolet as well as "Ma Barker's" Chrysler Pheaton, And Parts lots of the original Gangbuster Roadster with those parts. The Chrysler's Do share the accessories, as they are basically the Same kit anyway. The Lincoln has Different guns, figures, etc. While the Chrysler's have the Safe, Suitcase with Cash & Briefcase with jewels, The Lincoln (and likely Cabriolet/Roadster version too) has a Chrome Moonshine can/tank clear Booze bottles with 2 wooden crates for them, Violin case, Knife (or 2) hand grenades, etc The last issues of the Chevy did not include figures, guns etc. Just the Custom/Hot-Rod hop-up parts The Dodge Monaco 4dr sedan issued as either the Gotham/Goon, Roscoe's Or TJ Hooker has the Same guns and rack as the original Force 440 2dr that it is modified from. I think those were also used in the "Squad-Rod" Nova and MAYBE the Convoy Chaser Duster/Dart kit Though, I do nor remember guns in either of the 2 of that 'Convoy Chaser' I built Way back when.

Sad to say, the likelihood of seeing the 68 Fury Police Pursuit, or 66 Cadillac Ambulance/Hearse kit re-issued are Slim to None. At least parts of those tool sets were 'Lost' or Stolen MANY years ago. (Posted here Many times) I too would Love to see them, But I doubt New tooling would ever be cut for them. If Moebius showed the Promo/Craftman/Curbside bodies, Then that is likely what they will issue. The May correct the interior for the Dodge, But I do not expect a re-tooled chassis or an enginee added to it . They May Plan that for later, but, expect a Straight Promo/Curbside issue first.

1/25 AMT/Model King '72 Chevy Blazer
Edsel-Dan replied to youpey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I need to look at mine again then. Though, The GMC letters are Not TOO hard to find in a Kit. They are in the COE semi. and I think they were separate parts in the 72 Stepside pickup kit I also have parts leftover from the General & Bison 1/32 Semi cabs from Monogram I can Foil-cast them off the General if I did not cut them off or trade those parts -

Lucas, I am Unemployed, (No Money coming in), I am at my Local Library for Internet access using a TOWER, Not Laptop. This one has wireless receiver built in. The 'Laptop' I have is a glorified mp3 player only (NO Wireless ability, Minimal RAM, SMALL hard-drive, No batteries., etc) -
I see a few I like coming, But, am not sure what I will be able to get. Wonder if Round2 will re-issue the "Fire Chief" version of the 32 Vicky? That is one i would get!!! I do hope that Moebius is planning to re-issue the 59 Dodge & 63 Chysler Turbine. WIll they be announcing the other 2 IMC offerings 59 Rambler Wagon & 74 Olds Cutlass??? The late 60's-Early 70's Caddy Eldorado's you see under the Large 2015 Mustang are 1/64 scale Diecast They will sell for about $5.oo-8.oo Each. I believe Auto World sells the sets at $25.oo to 35.oo for 6 or 8 cars. I will wait till they are around $2.oo-2.50 each.

Edsel-Dan replied to youpey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Basically, The Jimmy & Blazer are the Same. Just the fender badges and grill are different And, If you Look Closely, The Jimmy Badges are Still there on the Chrome tree And the 4 Head-light lenses are on the clear tree in the Model-King issue!! I have 2 and see them every time I look at them. I believe those parts have been in the other previous issues too Maybe we can get Round2 to put the GMC grill back in the box to give us a 2n1 with 2 STOCK Brand options!! I have one of those "Bushwacker" issues too,. and Yes, it has the Trail-Bike I believe that same Trail-Bike was in the '6-Wheeler' issue of AMT's 80's Ford Van And the Original Bigfoot-1 4x4x4 kit (Same F Series as the recent re-issue Firestone Super Stones Pickup. (I have that one too) I am hoping that 69 Cougar has the Original & Count-down series issues engine & exhaust in it. -

new missing link 1965 buick wildcat!
Edsel-Dan replied to kevin's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
My dad had a 65 Wildcat black over Silver with black interior (Yes it Could get HOT, but it had Air Conditioning) His had a split Bench seat (Fold down Armrest) and Rectangular Gauge Not the twin pods of the kit dash. He broke MANY drive shaft with that 455 Nail!!! I did a Simulation out of an original 66 that I rebuilt Many years ago I call it simulation due to Darker Charcoal Metallic I painted it instead of Silver besides being a 66 and not 65. I used a Bench seat out of a Jo-Han 66 Caddy Ambulance. Yes I cut down the center section to simulate the fold-down armrest. I have a complete unbuilt 65 kit, but, like this one. I have at least 2 "Customising" series re-issues I could use But, Yes I would look for a Different dash and Bench seat!! -
Since the IMC kits Were Slotcar bodies with a Flat interior plate, with a promo type chassis added, I Did use Slotcar tires!! (Didn't I??) Yes, The rims on the Orange trailer Are from on of the IMC 'Kits' tires on it are the Lindberg CHarger/Cordoba pieces!! Rims on the flatbed trailer I think came from an MPC 1/32 Chevy Pickup, Tires are MPC 2-pc Styrene likely from the Tran Am Police kit I have 2 of those and one has Lindberg tires on it

MPC 1/20th Ford Van to be reissued..
Edsel-Dan replied to Rob Hall's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
But, They modified the body from a full window van to cargo/panel side before this issue. So, Even IF all the Ironside parts are there, it would take a Lot to restore the body to Window van configuration I have built 2 of these. a 72 (or so) annual (molded in white & black) and the Ironside (molded white & blue) I would Lov e to see the Ironside kit or a Stock Annual re-issued, But Doubt it do to the modifications done. I am surprised to see the Stock grill in the pictures, as at least 2 of the last issues had a Custom Only grill option. were they in different section of the molds?? -
Classic British Cars Kit inventory
Edsel-Dan replied to Matt Bacon's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Revell XJ-s Coupe Snap kit was also offered in a standard (No License) box I have it molded in Silver -
I have that Charger too. And the twin/Modified Cordoba. Built Way Back When! The white one is the Charger (Painted afte r the plastic yellowed badly) , the Green, the Cordoba. (only the Vinylsection of the roof is painted here--Plastic polished otherwise) The one trailer is from MPC's 1/32 73+Chev Stepside pickup The Flatbed is Scratch-Built Oh Yea, I replaced the small Lindberg tires with rubber/Vinyl ones from IMC 1/32 Nascar kits that were converted from Slotcar bodies. So they are Not correct for a Street driver!!!! But, They Do Fill the wheel wells better!!!!!!!!! And, Yeah, I think I need to re-paint the Charger!!

Edsel-Dan replied to youngtiger1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I believe ONLY the 62 & Possibly 63 Used the 'Galaxie' name on ALL Full sized Fords. In 60 & 61 they were Fairlane's, From 64 up they were Custom's. All had Only the Base level Trim. I have seen the Gum-Ball Rotator Dome & decals available as a set from PoliceCar Models (dot) com Too. Try there. But, I am not sure the Rotator is fully accurate as it is Too flat topped. I believe ALL Mayberry Cruisers Expect the Chevy in the Reunion Move were Round top Gum-Ball. The Chevy had a Blue Whelan Strobe Lightbar!! As for a 59, If Model Roundup is offering a Mayberry version, I Hope it looks like an LAPD car as the ONE & Only time we saw Andy In a 59 In the Danny Kaye/Danny Thomas show episode that would be the Pilot for Andy, it had the "Coffee Can" Lights on it, NOT a single Gum-Gall Dome I have a 59 Mayberry in progress!!! I have already posted pic's but can here too if desired. I believe Ed Fluck's (Drag City Resin) Father {F+F} Offered the 61 Fairlane 4dr sedan, But Ed dropped that shortly after his father retires/left the after market business. AMT's 64 Craftsman kit will take A LOT of work to convert. You Might be able to make the 61 Styline/craftsman roof work, but they are very different. Also, Removing all that chrome trim. Especially from the front fenders. The 65 & 66 can be done more easily.. And the 70 Ford Police car kit might be a good one to do too Wasn't "Mayberry RFD" still on then?? With Goober as Deputy or even Sherriff? -
You find the craziest stuff on ebay...
Edsel-Dan replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Have you seen this kit as the "Moon Eyes GTO??? Yellow!! -
I had 2 of the Old F85 kit Way back when Got them at a Convenience store (Actually a Mom&Pop Sell ALL type store). "Parks Market" was the name Wish I had Parts from One of them now!! I am not that in to this type car now, But if the EDSEL or the Olds were re-issued, I Would Definitely get those!! And now I may get the Mustang to convert/bash with the 66 Coupe for a stock 2+2 myself.

Buying ugly buildups
Edsel-Dan replied to ChrisPflug's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here are a few of the ones I have. All I have done on these is replace incorrect rims and fix loose fit of bumpers/grills and body-chassis These are AMT 1/43 scale kits. I got these in the 2 lots as shown. AMT 59 Thunderbird. I have not done Anything to her yet! I have several AMT/MPC 67-72 Chevy Pickup kits purchased as Builts/parts My most recent is a 60 El Camino Love those Old Built ups/parts lots. They do occasionally go Cheap!! -
Buying ugly buildups
Edsel-Dan replied to ChrisPflug's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have 3 of that Jo-Han 62 Lark. 1 is a Promo And That shade of Blue!! (Too bad the windshield frame is broken on it though. I was going to use a re-issue kit to replace it, but being a promo, the plastic is a mis-match!!! It is not warped, but does look Slightly Shunken!) You will Not have any trouble trading it off!!!!!!! Wish I could try!!! And, Yes I have a few like these too. Just wish the 61 Bonneville convert I got was a Kit not Promo. Wesley's Rubberized the darn thing!!!!!!! It is Still SOFT!! Got a 60 El Camino, 600 & 63 F100's under resto from built's like these!! 60 Ford was Complete, sill need 1-2 parts for 63!! I Might have Before pic's (Or In-Between) in my Photobucket. -
PMC offered the Country Sedan wagon in 59 and many were sold as Toys that never warped. I know, I have 3, and a Deluxe Promo. One of my toy issues was cast and offered by Bob Swartz at Model Cars & Parts Resin MANY years ago. I do not believe he is still active. But, The 59 Ford wagon Has been offered by other resin castors, so IS out there. As for the 63 Nova/Chevy2 being re-issued in 2n1 version. That one we Might be able to say NEVER and get away with. AMT butchered that kit into the "Bossa-Nova" Mid-Engine Dragster last seen through Model King. On to which ONE I would like to see..............................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too hard to pick. I am Trying to do the 59 EDSEL Villager myself (Two actually 1 styrene & 1 Resin) so can wait on that. {Why did AMT Not have another Edsel planned for their new-tooled 58 Pacer??!!!!!} Of the MoPar listed, the 67-71 Satellites were used by LAPD for Shift Command/Supervisors (Remember Sgt. MacDonald driving them on Adam-12) Don't forget the 72/3 Matador either!!!!!! I would love the Vista Cruiser. [ANY] Though a 70 0r 72 first as They were used at Indy those years. The 72 was an out right H/O!!!!! 2 were at least, for the Track Doctors!!!!! Even if the Factory did not offer the G/P, 442, etc trim parts, That did not preclude a dealer or better, an Owner from replacing original parts with them at some point!!!!!! The 65 Tempest/Le Mans Safari I am working on will have the GTO badges & trim. (That is IF I can ever get Back to it and finish the build/Bash!!!!!) Sorry for the Long absence. The Good DELL I was using Crashed and took the Wireless adapter with it. I have a "new' HP with built in Wireless, But have to take it (TOWER/Monitor/etc Not laptop) to the Library for internet!!!!!
-
With a Surfboard, and what look like 2 Skate boards, I would Bet that Yes it is an RC Helo. And, Yes, I too would Love to find some of these!!!!
-
Actual car was a 50 though. Larger parking lights and different trunk and side trim details. Does Modelhaus offer the grill from the Aurora Mod Squad woody?? That would be correct. And I have read that the MPC Snap Mecrusy Police kit has the 50 Side trim I have the decals for this one too. I have the Classic Metal Works Diecast (Likely what this kit is from) In a Cream Close to that!!! Might use the decals on it
