  1. You do have a Re-issue, as the Original did not have ertl as part of the logo. It was issued just after ertl bought AMT from Lesney, but Before they bought MPC. Maybe a Canada only issue?? Was the box sealed? May not help, as those shrink-wrap machines are everywhere now. And you can buy the sheet plastic as Window sealing film!!!! Are the Windows Clear or Dark tint?? That will really tell. Originals had Dark Tint. To have the 'Winged Wheel" logo on the body, it Had to be issued After the Indy Pace Car GTA. I have that version of this Firebird too
  2. OK, Those 2 are PA:MER original tooling re-issued by Lindberg. They have an Upper & Lower 2pc body assembly. The interior is cast in th eupper body half. And are slightly smaller than 1/32. Hubcap detail is Only decal/sticker! They had paper stickers back when original I had Several!!!!
  3. Casey, I would say YES that Is the Mail-in Premium for the Avanti!! Bag Not box. Not sure what would have been the second kit with that. I was UNDER 6 at the Time, so memory..............................
  4. I have the Ranchero too And the 63 Vette & Avanti. Would Love to get that 60 Thunderbird!! I had 4 of these Wayback as a Cereal mail in!!!!\ 2 sets of 2 kits!! 1 each of the Vette & Avanti are all I have left of them Would not be surprised if the T-Bird & Ranchero were the other 2 I had then!!
  5. OK. I have Both Original 82 KITT and the AMT Re-issue. I Bet you have the Re-issue. Is your kit Molded in Lt gray, or Black?? Originals are black, and do not include any of the GTA pieces. Is there a Body Rub strip along the crease?? Again, Re-issue I too am curious about the announced Retro re-issue coming Will the body be massaged back to Original KITT spec's or will we just get the Last iteration of that gen Firebird body with the KITT nose piece, dash, Consol, etc. The re-issue does not have the correct tail light lens piece either. Again due to constant re-tooling for the Annuals from this kit. I can not just run and grab my AMT box KITT, but will try to dig it out latter tonight when I get into my room. Unless someone posts the pic's of it before. The announced re-issue shows the Original box art. Showing the real KITT from a Film Frame The AMT re-issue showed a built Model Only Will it be that way, or different? The AMT Ecto-1A has Different box art for the original issue. Again now showing a built model while the original showed the Actual car coming out of the Firehouse in a Film Frame. (I guess most call those Screen Grabs Now) Here are Both Box art from that evil Auvtion site. Notice the Differnce!!! AMT/Ertl Box: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-ERTL-Knight-2000-Knight-Rider-model-kit-/281199581471?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item4178cd191f MPC Box art ORIGINAL KIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/MPC-TV-SHOW-CAR-KNIGHT-RIDER-2000-MODEL-6377-KIT-SEALED-/251366023608?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item3a869521b8 Which Box do you have?? If you see AMT ANYWHERE on the parts, Instructions, Box, you have the Re-issue from 2000!!!!!!!!! Which is what I am Certain you have!!!!!!
  6. I was ONE!! Not sure if I was still in Cary/Raleigh, N.C. or we had already moved to Wallop's, Va and the new NASA base there.
  7. I have several of these myself. Eric, The Vette with base you show id the "Mini-Lindy" Matchbox/Hot Wheels size (Approx 1/64 scale) kit and No where near the 1/32 scale kits. Additionally, The El Camino, and a couple others in that series were Smaller than 1/32. I have them The Hot Shot Charger is just the 'Cuda shown directly underneath with a 4 headlight grill. Again, I have that "Charger" so Can confirm this too!! They are also ones tahat are Snaller than listed scale. Her are my Built Cordoba & "Square-Body" Charger; Charger is White, Cordoba Green The flat bed trailer with them is completely Scratchbuilt I also have4 the Olds Omega and a couple different Pontiacs one, a Grand Prix sealed, unbuilt The 49 Ford is an OLD Pyro/Life-Like kit, the Gremlin and similar Vettes in another picture are Palmer!!!!! There were several in That series, including the 69 T-Bird, a Toronado, Mustangs, Galaxies. Too many to list. I have or had MANY of those as well. I believe the Sprite, MGA 1600 & 60-62 Vette are also Palmer or Pyro originally The ones that were only originally in this series have 2 screws that hold the chassis to the body and have "Super Mini-Lindy" on the chassis the Classic's 32 & 28 Lincoln & Packard Are Lindberg from about 67-8. I have a few of the 28 Lincoln Touring. Early issues did not have chrome parts!
  8. Should have done this too. Here are a FEW of mine: I only show 8 in that Pic. Notice the 36 in front of the 48!! Yes that Neon Green one IS an AMX!! I bought 2 lots of 3 builts I have Not yet taken pic's of. I will try to do so tomorrow and upload them, but rain is forecast. Til then, Here are the ebay pic's. Lot 1; Gold Custom Camaro, Lime Gold 68 Firebirs 400 & Purple Custom 66/7 GTO Lot 2; Blue 69 Mustang (Yes with a RED painted interior!!), Green Custom 67 Mustang, and Custom 63-67 era Vette (Unpainted). And Yes, I got the 6 Show cases!! I have a second Unpainted of the Custom Camaro, and several Matchbox era built's I can add to the pic's list. The Matchbox kits did Not have chrome parts. The parts were there, Just Not plated!! Of those, I have the 69 Chevelle, Camaro & Mustang, 68 Firebird, 57 Chevy. I have to find them to check!!!!
  9. I too want to see this one re-issued. $40.oo++ for a kit released so recently?? Wish I had bought all the Rides issue of that kit back when they were in Ollie's I didn't because I did not know if all the stock parts were still there. The grills & front bumpers will not interchange very well because there is a "Slight" spacing difference in the screw bosses in the 2 cabs!! I know, I have Several of these from Both brands, and have tried them.
  10. This one Is a bit of a rare one. It was last offered in the early 70's "Junior Collector Series" I have one I built back then. Mine was molded in white. I have the matching 48 Ford Coupe too. Some were re-issued in 70-80 during the Matchbox take over years, and 6 of the 1969's were re-issued in the early 90's. The entire list is in a thread in Car kit reviews.
  11. They are part of the body sides!!! Look at the instruction page.
  12. On a Spool is Nylon Mono filament, (Or Copper, Aluminum, steel Wire) NOT Styrene Evergreen sells 1/16 inch rod, and 1/8 inch tube in 12 inch length packages. You might be able to order 24 inch length from them too.
  13. Yes. Foot/Pounds of Torque!!
  14. I want a couple more. I built one Years ago. Petty Team set no less!!!!
  15. Not sure you need to as Both AMT & Revell offered KW COE Aerodynes. They should be available. And likely, AMT will re-issue their's soon with all the truck kits they Are re-issuing
  16. Do you know what the "E-400" & 'E-475' Stand for?? NOT Horsepower!!!
  17. AMT's "Tennessee Thunder" Pull Tractor Funny Car was reported to be an Arrow. I never got one. I was looking for a Stock 77 Arrow kit. I found a 75 Mitsubishi Celest Lancer from Doyusha that is the correct Hatchback. Too bad so few Japanese kits ever got imported to the US!!
  18. Junior Series Edsels; Ranger, Pacer, & Wagons came with the New FE block as standard V8, but could have the lager one, or an inline 6. AMT's kit is a Pacer The Senior series; Corsair & Citation had the MEL engine. 1958 Junior Edsels were on Ford Platform & Wheelbase, Seniors on the Mercury platform & longer wheelbase. Very Few parts would inter-change between jr & sr series Edsels in 58!! Also, Don't call them Ford Edsel's. They were a Separate division like Lincoln, & Mercury. And for many years after being dropped, No ford part department would sell you parts for one. Even if you gave the a Ford Part Number. If you said it was for an Edsel they told you that you Had to go to the Mercury Parts department!!!!
  19. OK, I will Correct it. At the Time Penski & Donahue ran the Jav/AMX in Cup. It was call the "Winston Cup Grand National" Series Remember that?? Winston came in to Sponsor the series and changed the name from just Grand National! What is not the Nationwide series, and recently the Busch & Grand National, was at that time still the "Late Model" series! The trucks did not exist at that time. Did you know they Tried Pickups in the 80's?? They only ran a Few events and folded. They were Not fully a Nascar division at the time, though they did take older Cup cars and convert them! I Might have pictures of one of these Javelin/AMX in Pitt Panther Markings. The College actually Had a Race team in 79/80!! And No I am not talking a Model!!!!!
  20. I made one for my Converted 58 & 64 Impala's, and 59 Buick. Yes, I laminated Sheet styrene and filed/sanded it to shape All I did was copy the one on my Original AMT 60 Pontiac Bonneville. I have since replaced the one on the Buick with one from a Monogram 59 Impala Here is the 58 Impala. Note I did Not add the dog-legs to the interior rear seat area. And here is my 64. AMT left the Convertible interior in the hardtop kit!!
  21. I buy my 91% at Wally's!! Just look carefully. They have 50, 70 & 90/91 % I traded someone a ProShop/CustomShop Custom 62 Catalina, and he just painted over the maroon.
  22. I love these Classic Cruisers Wish they could find the tooling of this one!! Or give us a New tooling of it!! I have one left of 2 "Boondock Bomber" issues. I am converting mine into an 'Electra 225' convertible Indy Pace car. Had to replace the leftover roof/windshield frame with one from the Monogram 59 Impala.
  23. AMT's kit dash should fit. Or can be adapted to fit!! That is the plan when I do my copy of this kit. Not sure on the Wildcat. I would like to find a Different style dash than th e"Twin Pod" unit in th eAMT 65 & 66's!! My dad had a 65 Wildcat, and it had the Rectangular Speedometer. NO 'Twin-Pods'!! Also, it had a split Bench with Fold down Armrest!! black over Silver with black interior. And YES, It Got HOT in that thing in Summer!!!! Wish I had it now. 455 V8. But he Threw/damaged the Drive shaft Several times.! They definitely did not use a good grade steel on it!!! It was Not strong enough for the engine Yes, the AMT 65 body is a Match to his 2dr Sportcoupe (fastback)
  24. I have the original of this, the Caddy & Wildcat. I got lucky in having a Spare Jo-Han Ambulance Dash. NO engraving on the kit piece at all!! Chassis are generic to ALL of the series, the hubcaps, and the interior upholstery pattern Only difference is rear package shelf! I do like the Stock BF Goodrich tires with White-stripe inserts!! At least this one has the roof cast with the body. I had fit issues with the 3 AMT's I have built so far, so left them Convertibles
